Imagene Caywood, 85, of Fillmore, MO passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024 at a local hospital in St. Joseph, MO. &nbsp;She was born in Maitland, MO on March 1, 1939 to Lonnie &amp; Lydia Belle (Wardlow) Lance. She married Richard Lee Caywood on May 31, 1957 and he preceded her in death in 2017.

Imagene graduated from Maitland High School 1957. &nbsp;She worked on the family farm until 1978. She decided to work at Laverna Heights as a cook from May 10, 1978 until September 4, 2003.

She is survived by one son, Eddie (Denise) Caywood of Savannah; two daughters, Linda (Steve) Lance and Vickie (Shawn) Oliver both of Fillmore, MO; one brother, Ralph V. Coop grew up in St. Joseph, graduating from Central High School in 2013.

Coop was an avid gamer, with anime, Dragon Ball Z and vampire games being among his favorites. He also liked to design game characters.

Family was even more important to Coop, and he loved to hang out with them. They will cherish memories of his quirky, corny sense of humor.

Sheila Thompson, 83, passed away on March 7, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on November 3, 1940, in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England to George and Winifred (O’Brien) Butler.

Her journey across the Atlantic began in 1962 after she married Derek Thompson and settled in the United States. Sheila found her home in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1965.

Sheila graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance from Missouri Western State College in 1981. Her talent and dedication to her craft enabled her to inspire countless students through her years of teaching piano, sharing the joy of music with generations.

Sheila is survived by her children, Judith Morley (Rick) and David Thompson (Claudia); grandchildren, Lauren Morley, Brandon, and Ryan Thompson; brother, Farrell Butler; brother-in-law, Joe Neff; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Margaret Varenhorst, Winifred Addyman, Patricia Hodgson, Colin Butler, and Eileen Neff.

Marvin A. Page, 83, left this life hand in hand with the Lord on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the VA Hospital Nursing Home in Leavenworth. &nbsp;

Marvin was welcomed into this world by Charles and Elsie Martin Page on February 18, 1941 on a farm near St. Clere, KS. &nbsp;He graduated from Emmett High School, then was enlisted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. &nbsp;It was there that he met his wife, Anna Schart, and they were married in 1966.

After being discharged from the Army he worked for Hill’s Pet Food in Topeka for twenty-two years.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elsie, a sister, Evelyn Page, and four brothers, John Page, Lyle Page, Darrell Page and James Page.

Survivors include Anna Page, a step-son, Gerhart Schart, one brother, Duane Page, Topeka, and a sister, Mary DeVader, Holton.

Jesse R. Flowers, 42, of Centralia, died Saturday, March 9, 2024, at his home, after a recent stroke. &nbsp;

He was born May 25, 1981, at Seneca, the son of Samuel and Nancy Sanders Flowers. &nbsp;He graduated from Onaga High School in 2000. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Jesse had worked for the Onaga Coop, the City of Centralia, and as a truck driver for Pottawatomie County. &nbsp;For the past year he had worked for the Mitch Hanner Ranch at Onaga.

He married Crystal Dawn Goin on October 16, 2021 at Onaga. She survives, of the home.

James Richard Large, 77, a lifelong resident of Weston, MO passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital, in Kansas City, MO. Jim was born December 18, 1946, in Leavenworth, KS to Lewis Calvert and Mary Catherine (Buckler) Large. He was a 1964 graduate of West Platte High School in Weston. Jim married Sharon Kay Faudere on March 27, 1965, in Platte City, MO. He worked for De Laval in Kansas City for many years. Jim was an active member of the Weston community, where he served as city councilman for two terms; and was involved with Jaycees for many years. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball, coaching girl’s summer league softball for many years, and was a highly competitive driver in the Platte County Fairgrounds demolition derbies. He also enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family at their lake house at Lake of the Ozarks. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister Denise Lynn Large; and his son in law Brian Fannon. He is survived by his wife Sharon; his daughter Leanna Fannon (John); his son Robert Large (Karen); grandchildren Logan Fannon (Jessica), Joshua Large (Neka), Caleb Large, Kenisen Large, and Conlan Large; his brothers Denny and Terry Large; his sisters Cindy Masoner, and Kathie Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; and Jim was especially fond of his two great granddaughters Rosie and Greta Fannon. Judy Michelle Edwards, 77, of Smithville, MO passed away March 4, 2024.&nbsp;

She was born on December 12, 1946, to Wagner Lauritz “Babe” and Lillian Mabel “Billee” (Hamilton) Andersen in Overland Park, KS where she grew up and graduated from high school.

On August 8, 1964, she was united in marriage to Ronnie J. Edwards. After their marriage they lived in Overland Park, KS, Kansas City, KS and in 1990 moved to Smithville, MO where they made their home. Ronnie passed away on December 16, 2013.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie; her parents; her son Jason Edwards and her brother Lee L. Andersen.&nbsp;

Judy is survived by her daughter Lori Edwards; grandsons Joseph “Joey” and wife Kelly and Ayden; great-grandchildren Wesley, Natalie and Gradey; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jack Bryan Denton, 62, Denton Kansas, passed away peacefully with his daughters and his dog Simba by his side early Sunday morning, March 10 at his home. He was born January 30, 1962, in Saint Joseph, Missouri to Jack Byers Denton and Betty Ann Hammersmark Denton. He graduated from Midway Denton High School in 1980. He attended Highland Community College for one year. Jack Bryan married Deborah Lyne Scott, May 28, 1988. They had two daughters, Jackie Lyne and Kristy Ann. He had a passion for horses and cattle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an excellent dancer. He had many jobs, but his favorites included working in Western Kansas as a Ranch Manager for Bertrand Cattle Company where he was able to ride his horse every day. Western Sunflower, where he met his best friend, Alex and wife Marcella. And lastly, working for Joe Montana at Big Sky Distributors. He loved preparing livestock with his family for the 4-H fairs and going on trail rides. His most prized possessions were his daughters and his granddaughter RaeLyne Ann.

Christopher “Chris” Elias, age 96, of Atchison, Kansas, died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care.

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. He will be laid to rest in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Chris was born June 22, 1927, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Christopher C. Elias, Sr., and Dorothy Roth Elias. He grew up in Standard, Alberta, Canada and helped on the family farm for several years. He was inducted in the United States Army on October 18,1950, stationed primarily in Germany and faithfully served his country until his honorable discharge on October 10, 1952.

Throughout his life, Chris practiced an exemplary work ethic, valuing punctuality and a job done right. His most recent employment was with American Exterminators for twenty years until he retired at age 90. He was a Kansas State Grain Inspector for 10 years, Groundskeeper at Maur Hill Prep, Custodial Services at Benedictine College and USD #409, Atchison, and worked at Kramer’s Manufacturing in Leavenworth, KS.

He was an active member of St. Benedict Parish, Sacred Heart Council #723 of the Knights of Columbus and V.F.W. Post #1175. Chris was a regular for many years in the Adoration chapel of St. Benedict Parish. Chris was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion for many years and distributed Communion to those who were sick or homebound in the Atchison area. He enjoyed writing letters and sponsoring children in need through Unbound International Non-Profit for Children &amp; the Aging for over 20 years.&nbsp;

Chris, affectionately referred to as &nbsp;“Chrisco” among all those who knew and loved him, never tired of being the life of the party. His sense of humor brought eruptions of laughter and helped to lighten life’s more challenging moments.&nbsp;

Chris and Janet M. Blake were united in marriage on July 11, 1959, at St. James Catholic Church, St. Joseph, MO, and they shared sixty-four years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Janet Elias; three daughters, Dianna (Glen) Schalles, Manhattan, KS, Amy (Bill) Thomsen, Matthews, NC, Debbie (Randy) Singleton, St. Joseph, MO; two sons, Mike (Kelly) Elias, Atchison, KS, and David (Tammie) Elias, Atchison, KS; a son in law, Randy Phillips, Everest, KS; a sister, Betty Gauthier, Strathmore, Alberta Canada; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mike was born March 1, 1945, in Paris Island, South Carolina, the son of Richard J. Green and Cleo Beatrice (Winchel) Green. Mike was raised by his mother and Ray Morrison. He attended school in Atchison, then moved to Texas during high school and graduated from Bell High School in Euless, Texas.

Following graduation Mike was drafted into the United States Army serving in Vietnam from 1969 until his honorable discharge in 1971. After a year out of the service he decided to reenlist, this time in the Air Force serving from October 1972 until his honorable discharge in April 1975.&nbsp;

He and Sheri E. Morris were united in marriage on June 21, 1980, at the First Christian Church in Atchison, Kansas. She preceded him in death on May 17, 2002.

Mike was employed with Blish Mize for 20 years as a stocker. He had many hobbies, including playing cards, fishing and going to the casino. When Mike went to the casino, he didn’t mind gaming but he truly enjoyed the social aspect of meeting new people. Mike had a passion for cars, including classic cars, attending drag races and in his younger years was a great mechanic. He was a fan of the Chiefs, Royals and Kansas Jayhawks. Mike would often read old western books and watch old westerns on tv. He and Sheri would go to concerts, they were fans of 50s and 60s country music. Mike loved his family and always enjoyed spoiling his nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Survivors include, a sister, Trudy (John) Crosswhite, Everest, KS, a brother, Chip (Janene) Morrison, Atchison, KS, and a special friend Mandy Beagle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 11, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Joseph Church in Atchison, Kansas, with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Celia was born September 17, 1993, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Randy and Michelle (Beien) Kasper. She attended Atchison Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Maur Hill-Mount Academy in 2012. Celia was employed with Maximus as an ISG representative in Lawrence, Kansas.

Celia enjoyed singing and spending time with her friends. She was spontaneous and always up for a road trip. She had a special place in her heart for her two Godchildren, Hendrick and Harley.

Survivors include her mother, Michelle Kasper, Lawrence, Kansas; her father, Randy Kasper, Kalamazoo, Michigan; and her brother, Thad Kasper, Post Falls, Idaho, step sister, Amber Hall and step brother, Mike Jones and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bill was born June 24, 1948 in Gower, MO, to William A. and Velma (McMillian) Smith.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge.

Bill worked many different jobs throughout his life. &nbsp;He loved to fish, build things, "putter" around in his garage, and liked working in his yard.

Survivors include two children, Erica Smith, Stephen Smith; a brother Richard Smith; other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two siblings.

Retired Nurse Practitioner, Alexis “Lexie” Louise Webb Lewis’s love of life didn’t come to an end with her death. Lexie passed away on March 4th,2024 at the age of 73 surrounded with love from those who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.&nbsp;

Lexie was born in Centerville,Iowa on August 18,1950 to her parents Elton and Lorene Webb. She was raised in Unionville,Missouri where she attended school, graduating from Unionville High School in 1968.It is where her firm belief and devotion to God and faith began attending Unionville United Methodist Church. Lexie cherished her time in Putnam County with her parents and life long friends.&nbsp;

Lexie started her nursing journey in 1969 where she attended Centerville Community College, graduating with her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. In the Fall of 1980, she returned to school at Indian Hills Community College where she earned her Registered Nursing degree. Her quest of knowledge continued thru the University of Missouri where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in 1998, as well as her Advanced Practice Registered Nursing Degree in 2001. She practiced as a geriatric Nurse Practitioner at Mosiac Life Care until her retirement in 2021. Lexie maintained many credentials over the years, she was certified and trained in almost everything. Lexie, a compassionate and dedicated nurse, devoted much of her professional life to caring for others. Her servant’s heart allowed her to care so genuinely for all of her patients over the years donning her the nickname “The Myth, The Legend, The Lexie” among her peers.&nbsp;

Lexie married Dan Boland, and together they built a family that brought them immeasurable joy. Their union blessed them with three children: Colby, Gentry and Whitney, who were the center of Lexie’s world. After their divorce in 1986, Lexie and Dan became a model of successful co-parenting. Her dedication to her family was unwavering , and she poured her love into every moment shared with them. Later in life Lexie married Ron Lewis. They created a home together in Milan, Mo and then later in St Joseph, until his passing in 2019.&nbsp;

Lexie was an avid reader whose love of literature started as a little girl. She could often be found with a book or her Kindle. Lexie loved gardening and back in the day was the Gardening Queen. Every summer she harvested endless amounts of fresh produce shared lovingly with neighbors and friends willing to offer their help. Lexie also had a passion for antiques and shopping for a good deal. Her keen eye for unique finds and love for the hunt made every excursion a delightful experience. Lexie’s home reflected her exquisite taste, adorned with treasures she had carefully curated over the years.&nbsp;

Lexie is survived by her loving children: Colby Boland,Gentry Boland, and Whitney (Chad) Barker; daughter in law Celia Alfaro, and bonus son Tyler Boland; Cherished granddaughters Aaliyah,Jacie, and Eva Barker, cherished grandson Mateo Boland, and first husband Dan Boland. Lexie leaves behind her siblings: Melody Cackin,Tiffani Danielson, Ron (Marsha) Danielson, Steve (Lori) Danielson, Janet Coogan,Barb (Matt) Hays, and her precious nieces, nephews, great niece, great nephew, cousins and many life long friends she considered family.&nbsp;

Lexie was preceded in death by her husband Ron Lewis, her Father Elton Webb, her Mother Lorene Danielson, Step-Father Chet Danielson, and her sister Karen Webb.&nbsp;

Bobby Ray Odom, 84, White Cloud, Kansas, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024.

He was born on June 6, 1939, to Felix and Annabelle (Grizzel) Odom in Fultondale, Alabama.

He served in the United States Navy after graduating high school.

Bobby worked at Continental X-Ray and International Tool and Machine in Chicago, Illinois prior to moving to Alabama and becoming a truck driver. His career spanned over 28 years, working for other companies such as Millers and The Foundry.

On June 23, 1965, he was united in marriage to Sandra Swihart. She survives of the home.

Bobby was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He enjoyed working on DIY projects, and loved listening to country, bluegrass and gospel music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Martha Ann Odom and Billy Odom.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sandra Odom; daughters, Dawn (Tim) Smith and Cherie (Randy) Sims; grandchildren, Justin Smith, Amber (Thomas) Jakeman, Joseph Sims and Jesse (Deanna) Sims; great-grandchildren, Chase Jakeman, Rowan Jakeman, Elijah Jakeman and Noah Sims; and siblings, Tom Odom and Mary Alice Vessels.
