Barbara Gayle Montemayor 82, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025 with her son by her side. She was born May 16, 1943 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Eva and Harvey Ricker. She graduated from Benton High School, and retired from General Motors after 33 1/3 years of faithful service. She was a collector of Mickey Mouse memorabilia, roosters and chickens, and she loved to travel to Hawaii, where she especially loved whale watching, she was also a fierce fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. Barbara was a member of the St. James Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by father, Harvey Ricker, mother, Eva L.(Roland) Farian, sister, Beverly Wood, and a brother, Jim Ricker. Survivors include: her loving son, Frank (Eva) Montemayor Jr of Gower, MO, granddaughter, Alison Montemayor, grandson, Mitchell Montemayor, and a great granddaughter, Mira.
Graveside service and inurnment will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 31,2025 at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
