Carly Ashley Anderson, born on May 9, 2023, in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023, being rocked in her mother’s arms with dad by their side at Children's Hospital &amp; Medical Center. Carly's time on earth was filled with love, joy, and the warmth of her family's affection.

From the moment Carly was born, she was a beacon of strength and determination. She had a unique way of doing things, always in her own time and in her own way. Carly was a fighter, showing resilience and courage beyond her tender age.

Carly had a special love for her mobile and pacifier, and a particular fondness for her toy octopus, finding comfort and joy in the simplest of things. Carly loved being held and rocked to sleep in the arms of those who loved her most.

Above all, Carly loved her mom and dad. Their bond was evident in every interaction, every shared smile, every tender touch.

Carly's life, though brief, was filled with moments of joy and love. She touched the lives of those around her in profound ways, leaving a lasting legacy of strength, courage, and love. Carly's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Carly was the cherished daughter of Christopher and Brittany Anderson. She was the beloved granddaughter of Tom "Pee Paw" Brown, Lavina Middleton, Lee Ann Anderson, and Shannon Anderson. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored her.

Carly was preceded in death by her aunt, Heather Brown, and cousin, Kaiber Williams.

He was born December 8, 2011 in St. Joseph to Daniel and LaSeana (Meers) Steidel.

He was a student at St. Francis Elementary School.

Wyatt loved his brothers and cousins more than anything. He was the sweetest child you’d ever meet, with the best smile and most handsome dimples. Wyatt was a very smart child, who had a passion for reading and playing chess. He earned 2nd place in the St. Francis Chess Tournament and also earned awards in the school’s geography and spelling bees.

Wyatt expressed his love for helping others by volunteering at the food kitchen, helping his little brother, helping his mother with cooking and more recently, making cookies on his own.

He enjoyed playing basketball and Connect 4, swimming and fishing. He loved going to Uncle Mike’s.

Wyatt's life may have been brief, but his impact was significant. His remarkable story is a testament to the power of love and positivity. His memory will continue to inspire us to strive, to love, and to be kind for years to come. He will be greatly missed.

Mary Ellen Dunning, 72, of St. Joseph, devoted wife and loving Mother, passed&nbsp;away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at a local health care facility. She was born on&nbsp;March 11, 1951 in Sabetha, KS, the daughter of the late Donald H. and Esther S.Wilson.

Mary Ellen grew up in St. Joseph, and graduated from Central High School in the&nbsp;class of 1969. She took courses at Missouri Western State College, where she&nbsp;studied to become a secretary. After college, she was proud of her time spent&nbsp;working as an executive secretary at the Columbia Union National Bank in Kansas&nbsp;City.

She was an accomplished pianist/organist, and enjoyed many years as a church&nbsp;accompanist. The time she spent making music with her father and her daughter&nbsp;over the years was very special to her.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents.

On May 26, 1972, she married David W. Dunning. They were married 51 years,&nbsp;and he survives at the home.&nbsp;She enjoyed walking, quilting with her friends, and her pets. She was a bright spot&nbsp;in the lives of her family and friends, and loved staying in touch with all of them.

Survivors include her children, Erik (Sandra) Dunning - St. Joseph, and Elizabeth&nbsp;(Rico McNeela) Dunning - Cincinnati, OH, along with many beloved nieces,&nbsp;nephews, and cousins.

The service will be Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Heaton, Bowman, Smith, and&nbsp;Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph. Visitation will be at 11am, with the service to follow at 12pm. There will be a private interment at a later date.

She was born November 29, 1923 to Leopoldino and Elisa Lopes in Recife, Brazil.

Maze married John J. Weber on August 13, 1951 and were married for 52 years.

She was preceded in death by parents and her husband.

Survivors include her sons, John Weber (Diane) of St. Joseph, Missouri and Robert Weber of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; daughters, Lisa Durkac of West Palm Beach, Florida and Barbara Hanratty of Jeffersonville, New York; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lyndall Arleene Cornelius, 98, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away July 12, 2023. She was born October 25, 1924, the daughter of Guiles and Anna Seiberling. Though she was born in her beloved Iowa, Lyndall spent most of her life on a farm just east of St. Joseph, Missouri, working alongside the love of her life, Bradford Cornelius, whom she married on Feb. 22, 1947. They were married for 68 years before Brad passed away on Oct. 2, 2015.

As a young girl, Lyndall loved her life on her parents’ farm, the youngest of 7 children, spending a lot of time with her pet lambs, pet squirrel and her horse, Daisy, who took her to school in all kinds of weather. She loved the Iowa State Fairs and especially cherished a baby elephant there named Baby Mine, helping to sponsor it along with many other Iowan children. Her love for baking, embroidery, cross-stitching and sewing were nurtured by her beloved mother, Anna. Graduating from high school as the class president and valedictorian of her high school senior class, she went on to support herself and her family during the World War II era during which time her best friend, Shirl, introduced Lyndall to her handsome First Lieutenant cousin, Brad.

Lyndall was a quiet, gentle and kind person, with a spunky spirit, valuing what was most essential in life: her faith and family; loving her nieces and nephews, her children and great-grandchildren; and building a warm and loving home. She helped where she could, volunteering with Mosaic Hospice for 20 years, mentoring several young women, working at the Pregnancy Resource Center, hosting Tuesday afternoon Bible study classes, and always being an empathetic listening ear to whoever needed it.

She leaves behind her son, Dr. James Bradford Cornelius, daughter Kaye and son-in-law Mike Rutter; and daughter, Susan Cornelius; grandchildren, John Mark (Desiree) Rutter, Anna (Brian) Warren, Elizabeth (John Paul) Zenone, Katherine Rutter, James (Marina) Rutter, Grace (Richard) Young, Max (Kristin) Powers and Boyd Powers; and her great-grandchildren, Caleb and Abby Kaye Rutter, Bridget, Jimmy and Jonathan Warren, Alexandria, Kaylee, John Paul, and John Luke Zenone, and Sloane and Mia Powers. She is also leaving behind several beloved nieces and nephews and her faithful cat, Kittle.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers, several nieces and nephews and by her husband, Brad.

Terry Ray Eaton, 64, of Maysville, Missouri, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in Kansas City, Mo. at Saint Luke’s Hospice House.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville. Visitation will be from 10:00 ~ 11:00 a.m.

Terry was born in King City, Missouri to Albert Lamaster and Daisy Juanita (Murphy) Eaton on August 17, 1958. He went to High School in Maysville, and graduated in 1976. Terry worked as a correction officer and also for Peach Tree Door for many years. He enjoyed fishing very much and was a Chief’s Football fan. Terry was a jokester, and he hated politics. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as a loving dad, brother, and uncle.

Terry is survived by his children, Janesca (Marc) Procter, Heather Eaton, Austin (Theresa) Eaton, brother, Gary (Pat) Eaton, nieces and nephews, Lance, Jim, April, Joy, best friend, Rick McGuire, many other relatives and friends.

Linda L. Weiser, 79, of St. Joseph, MO went to join her husband in passing on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She was born the middle of three children on December 1, 1943 in St. Joseph to Loretta and Harold Burkart. 

She married her high school sweetheart Richard "Dick" Weiser on August 16, 1963 (her father's birthday) and they shared 56 years together before his passing in 2019. Linda attended Hosea Grade School and graduated from Benton High School, class of 1962. She continued her education at "G's" Beauty University. She then went on to work at Park Plaza Beauty Salon and later purchased the business, where she worked for 20 years. She then joined her husband and business partner at Vend-America, then Riverside Concession at Civic Arena and later Weiser's Family Cleaner's and Hodson's Cleaner's with their son, Rick later joining as a business partner. &nbsp;Linda retired in 2006, to stay home and help care for her 3rd grandchild, Kendall.&nbsp;

She was an avid reader and her favorite hobby was making baby quilts. She gave them to grandchildren, nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends and donated some to silent auctions for charity. She loved meeting with her high school friends Karen, Gail, Becky, Carol Sue, Marilyn and Diane for their monthly dinner which they referred to as "Ladies of the Round Table". She also loved watching her granddaughter Kendall dance in competitions and recitals.&nbsp;

Linda was preceded in death by husband, Dick Weiser, her parents, sister, Sandy Noeth and brother, Harry Otis Harvey. 

Survivors include sons, Rick (Amy) Weiser of St. Joseph and Jeff (Karen) Weiser of Bothell, WA, 3 grandchildren, Erica (Scott) Adams, Kyle Weiser, and Kendall Weiser, great-grandson, Elliott Adams, nephew, Tyson (Libby) Noeth, nieces Stephanie Clark and Tricia (Denny) Butler, sister-in-law Judy (Dave) Heinjer, brother-in-law Tom (Sherry) Noeth, her aunt Madolyn Marshall and many cousins. She will also be missed by her surrogate granddaughters, Sophie and Isabell Butler.

As to Linda's wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time. She will be cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home and Inurned next to her husband at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include sons, Rick (Amy) Weiser of St. Joseph and Jeff (Karen) Weiser of Bothell, WA, 3 grandchildren, Erica (Scott) Adams, Kyle Weiser, and Kendall Weiser, great-grandson, Elliott Adams, nephew, Tyson (Libby) Noeth, nieces Stephanie Clark and Tricia (Denny) Butler, sister-in-law Judy (Dave) Heinjer, brother-in-law Tom (Sherry) Noeth, her aunt Madolyn Marshall and many cousins. She will also be missed by her surrogate granddaughters, Sophie and Isabell Butler. As to Linda's wishes, there will be no visitation or service at this time. Ruth Kathman, 90, passed away July 11, 2023 at Gower Convalescent Center. Ruth was born in Omaha, NE on December 10, 1932.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil Armstrong and Pearl White, brother Russell Armstong, husband and love of her life, Raymond Kathman, son Danny Kathman, daughter Sharon Kathman, and grandson SSG Christopher Swisher. She is survived by son Bernie Kathman, daughters Kathi Kathman-Smith (Roger), Jean Donaldson (Mark), sister Joanne, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ruth was a homemaker and volunteered as a room mother for her kids' elementary school classes every year. The descriptive word that most often comes up for her is "stubborn." It's true. She was as stubborn as they come. Sweet is another word we hear a lot. She was also friendly, thoughtful, and generous in every way. She was an excellent cook and baker and nobody left her home hungry. She loved to travel and watch birds, especially hummingbirds. She loved to read. She enjoyed going to casinos, where she was usually quite lucky on the slots and always donated a percentage of every win. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, and chatting with everyone she met. As she said often, she loved life, and she had a good one. She will be missed.

Ruth was cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel. A private inurnment will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cherokee Village, Arkansas at a &nbsp;later date.

She was born July 13, 1961 to John M. and Beverly A. (Ridinger) Bradshaw in Kansas City, Missouri.

Kristi enjoyed going to concerts, watching crime shows, crafting and arranging flowers. She was a Kansas City Chiefs, Sammy Hagar and Nascar fan. She also loved spending time with her granddaughter and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kyle Blentlinger.

Charline Kessler, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home on July 11, 2023. She was born on September 4, 1940, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Charles Edward and Frances Marie (Bryan) Baird.

Charline was a graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart. After her education, she dedicated her life to her family, becoming a homemaker and providing a warm, loving environment for her husband and children.

She found joy in ceramics, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her artistic talent. She also had a green thumb, spending countless hours landscaping her yard. Charline was known for her love of games, particularly bingo, and she never missed an opportunity to try her luck with a lottery ticket. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Charline was a devoted member of the St. Joseph Cathedral Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, providing her with strength and comfort. She was a beacon of light to those around her, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. Her faith-filled life was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and great-grandson, Evan Michael.

Charline is survived by her loving husband, Robert, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage after their union on July 22, 1957. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Cathy Long (Dan) and Debbie Kempf (Chuck); her grandchildren, Robert Long, Patricia Walls, Jennifer McLaughlin, and Charles Kempf, and her great-grandchildren, Ethan Long, Ava Long, Emma Long, Emilia McLaughlin, Kessler Walls, and Italia Walls.

Lawrence E. “Larry” Smith, III, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

He was born February 16, 1946 in El Centro, California, to Lawrence E. Smith, II and Jacqueline (LaBarge) Smith.

Larry proudly served his country for 25 years in the U.S. Army, seeing duty in Vietnam, Panama and Grenada among many other places. After retiring from the military, he taught various courses at ITT for 10 years.

Larry married Deborah Lynne Harding in 1991.

He enjoyed model trains, reading, camping and mowing the lawn. Larry liked to cook and was known for his Mexican lasagna.

He was a very giving, loving man who liked to joke around but when it was time to be serious, he got serious.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Terri; and beloved dog, Lady Bug.

Jane Anne Seuser, 84, passed away July 11, 2023, Leavenworth, Kansas.

Jane was born on January 26, 1939, to Charles and Esther Baker of Leavenworth, Kansas.

Jane was preceded in death by Brothers Raymond and John Baker, and Sister Jean Sandoval.

Jane Anne lived most of her life here in Leavenworth; Graduating from Leavenworth Senior High. She was a certified Respiratory Therapist at Cushing Memorial Hospital. Jane was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was the mother of six children. Preceded in death by son Todd Mulnix and daughter Tamara Davidson. Jane’s surviving Children Tim Mulnix of Roanoke, TX, Tom Mulnix of Northlake, TX, Ted Mulnix of Smyrna, TN, Jennie Estrada of Leavenworth, Ks. She was known as Nana to 15 Grandchildren, and Gigi to 11 Great Grandchildren.

Marcia Lucille Everett, 79, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully at home with her family on&nbsp;Sunday, July 9, after a three-year battle with ALS. Marcia was born Marcia Lucille Russon in Los Angeles,&nbsp;CA, on March 24, 1944, to John and Mary Russon.

&nbsp;On April 17, 1971, she married Richard Everett, then a Captain in the US Army, in the Los Angeles temple. Together, Rick and Marcia raised five children as they&nbsp;travelled the country, making a home wherever the Army sent them. They have lived in Leavenworth&nbsp;and then Kansas City since 1992.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved stepmom, Lyn “Nani” Russon and three brothers, John Kimball Russon, David Russon, and Steve Russon. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rick, her children and their spouses, Laurie (David) Jacobus, Alison (Niel) Campbell, Emily (Kevin) Garlock, Mary (James) Thompson, and Bradley (Kate) Everett and her 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Ann (Ted) Everett, John Henry (Annie) Russon, Mary Ellen (Dennis) Larson, brother-in-law Arthur (Susan) Everett and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marcia had the gift of making everyone she met feel welcome and loved. She was someone who never&nbsp;met a stranger and made friends everywhere. She was a talented florist, seamstress, and homemaker.&nbsp;She was also a beautiful singer. She loved to travel and spoke fluent German. Marcia earned a Bachelor&nbsp;of Arts from Brigham Young University and served a church mission in Switzerland with her parents&nbsp;before she married. She also served with Rick in San Diego, CA, after they raised their children.

She held numerous volunteer leadership positions for local congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ&nbsp;of Latter-day Saints and was always available to help those in need. She will be remembered for a&nbsp;lifetime spent in the service of others.

Marcia Lucille Everett 1944 - 2023

Brenda Marshall quietly passed away in her sleep on Saturday, July 8 th, 2023 . She was born Brenda Mary Summerton, daughter of Frank and Muriel Summerton, on March 24, 1936 in the English town of Halesowen, just outside of Birmingham. 

Attending local schools, she later graduated from secretarial school as was the custom of the time. Not wanting to become a secretary, Brenda took employment with a local newspaper as a reporter covering local events. One of her favorite things to do in the evenings was to go to a Birmingham jazz club where her boss, Stan, played in a band called “The Second City Jazz Band”. On one of these evenings, she met her future husband, David Marshall. 

After a year of&nbsp;dating, Brenda and David were married. Soon after, the newlyweds moved to Plymouth, England, where David worked for the local television studio, Westward Television, and Brenda again took on the life of a reporter covering local events for one of the Plymouth newspapers (the only woman reporter with the paper). Some of her fondest memories were of this time, newlyweds, living at South Widey Farm, Linketty Lane, Plymouth, England. For work, she would zip around from story to story on a Vespa Scooter, and on weekends, she and David would participate in car rallies in their bright red Austin Healey Sprite. She spoke of these times frequently enough that even the license of the car in engrained&nbsp;in my memory (YOE 312).

Brenda and David had a long-term dream of moving to Hollywood, California where David would later become an Art Director working in the Hollywood Studios, and Brenda went on to pursue her passion for writing and reporting. At this time (early 60’s), it was easier to immigrate to the US from Canada than from the UK. So, to this end, the young couple moved to Canada for two years to establish residence. Two years later, immigration papers in hand, they made the long drive from Toronto to Hollywood. The year was 1965. On Christmas day that year, their only son, Timothy James Marshall was born. Although David and Brenda divorced in 1968, Brenda continued writing, mostly as a free-lance reporter&nbsp;interviewing stars for entertainment industry papers and teen magazines. 

The list of names ranged from&nbsp;Bill Bixby and John Glenn to Leif Garrett and Scott Baio. During this period, she also wrote and published&nbsp;three books: The Occult, Sweet Spirits, and Robin.

Throughout the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, Brenda pursued many passions. As a young teenager, her mother&nbsp;taught her to play tennis, and, as long as her health allowed, Brenda played every Saturday up at the&nbsp;courts in Griffith Park, CA. During the winter months, she enjoyed skiing (a sport she took up with David&nbsp;early in their marriage skiing at Mayrhofen, Austria). In California, she tried to make trips to Snow&nbsp;Summit, Mammoth Mountain, or Lake Tahoe as frequently as time and budget would allow.

 Her other&nbsp;passion throughout these years was theater. She was active with the Group Repertory Theater of North&nbsp;Hollywood for over a decade. Not only did she do publicity for all their productions (as well as free-lance&nbsp;publicity for other equity waiver theaters in Hollywood and North Hollywood), but she also tried her&nbsp;hand on-stage in various skits and projects.&nbsp;In the later years, she moved her stage talents to the Mayflower Club of North Hollywood (a club for UK&nbsp;expats living in Southern California) and performed in various productions of Pantomimes and Spring&nbsp;Musicals and even wrote one of their productions – Ghosts of the Titanic.&nbsp;In March 2016, Brenda moved from California to Kansas to be closer to family.

Brenda passed away July 8, 2023, at Twin Oaks Health and Rehab in Lansing, Kansas. 

She is survived by her son, Lieutenant Colonel (ret.) Tim Marshall, daughter-in-law Marlee Marshall, and two grandsons, 2 nd Lieutenant Weston Marshall (US Army), and Jeb Marshall (a senior at the University of Kansas studying Aerospace Engineering). The family will be forgoing a local memorial service.

Two years later, immigration papers in hand, they made the long drive from Toronto to Hollywood. The year was 1965. On Christmas day that year, their only son, Timothy James Marshall was born. Although David and Brenda divorced in 1968, Brenda continued writing, mostly as a free-lance reporter&nbsp;interviewing stars for entertainment industry papers and teen magazines. The list of names ranged from&nbsp;Bill Bixby and John Glenn to Leif Garrett and Scott Baio. During this period, she also wrote and published&nbsp;three books: The Occult, Sweet Spirits, and Robin. Throughout the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s, Brenda pursued many passions. As a young teenager, her mother&nbsp;taught her to play tennis, and, as long as her health allowed, Brenda played every Saturday up at the&nbsp;courts in Griffith Park, CA. During the winter months, she enjoyed skiing (a sport she took up with David&nbsp;early in their marriage skiing at Mayrhofen, Austria). In California, she tried to make trips to Snow&nbsp;Summit, Mammoth Mountain, or Lake Tahoe as frequently as time and budget would allow. Her other&nbsp;passion throughout these years was theater. She was active with the Group Repertory Theater of North&nbsp;Hollywood for over a decade. Not only did she do publicity for all their productions (as well as free-lance&nbsp;publicity for other equity waiver theaters in Hollywood and North Hollywood), but she also tried her&nbsp;hand on-stage in various skits and projects.&nbsp;In the later years, she moved her stage talents to the Mayflower Club of North Hollywood (a club for UK&nbsp;expats living in Southern California) and performed in various productions of Pantomimes and Spring&nbsp;Musicals and even wrote one of their productions – Ghosts of the Titanic.&nbsp;In March 2016, Brenda moved from California to Kansas to be closer to family.Brenda passed away July 8, 2023, at Twin Oaks Health and Rehab in Lansing, Kansas. She is survived by her son, Lieutenant Colonel (ret.) Tim Marshall, daughter-in-law Marlee Marshall, and two grandsons, 2 nd Lieutenant Weston Marshall (US Army), and Jeb Marshall (a senior at the University of Kansas studying Aerospace Engineering). The family will be forgoing a local memorial service.<figure>

Delores’s life will be celebrated and remembered on Sunday, July 16, 2023, with a visitation for friends and family from 2-4:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Cremation care has been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Mt. She was born on September 11, 1942, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of the late Victor Robert Kurtz, Sr., and Opal (Agee) Kurtz. She attended Atchison Public Schools and graduated from AHS in 1961.&nbsp;

Delores was employed with Atchison County at the courthouse for her entire working career in the County Treasurer’s Office. She worked her way up, serving as the Deputy Treasurer and retired as the County Treasurer in 2004. She enjoyed doing ceramics and always kept a nice yard; she always had beautiful flowers that she cared for.&nbsp;

She married Richard Joseph Ebling, they were later separated. On January 17, 1998, Delores and Richard “Mike” McConnaughey were married in Atchison; he preceded her in death on February 10, 2009.&nbsp;

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Rick Ebling; her brother, Victor R. Kurtz, Jr.; her granddaughter, Melissa Jane Ebling; and four nephews, Victor R. Kurtz, III, Charles L. Kurtz, Troy C. Kurtz, Christopher L. Kurtz.

Phyllis served as a teacher at Atchison Catholic Elementary School.

Phyllis attended the First Presbyterian Church in Atchison. She was active in the P.E.O. Organization and the Presbyterian Church. &nbsp;Phyllis was a huge Elvis fan, not just listening to his music but also collecting his memorabilia. Some of her other hobbies included shopping, traveling and playing slot machines. Phyllis was always up for a good conversation.&nbsp;

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Mike Weaver, Atchison, KS, two daughters, Michel Meyers, Ottawa, KS, Elizabeth Rosenfeld, Olathe, KS, three grandchildren, Skylar Rosenfeld, Memphis Rosenfeld, Grace Meyers, two brothers-in-law, Wayne Weaver, Dennis (Alora) Weaver, a niece, Stacie Hestbeck and a nephew, David Weaver.

She married Frank Parker, and he survives of the home. She attended Lafayette High School, and she was a Homemaker. Cynthia enjoyed playing tripolee with her family, and spending time with her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, David Sipes, and sister, Sandy Tarwater. 

She is survived by her husband, Frank Parker of the home, son, Frankie Parker, sisters, Diane (Kip) Wilson, Judy Heater, Debbie (Michael) Golden, Penny Sollars, Terry (Jeff) Jauhola, and a brother,  Larry Sipes. There are no scheduled services at this time. 

She will be cremated under care of the Rupp Funeral Home.

Francis Dale Hesnault, 92 of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

He was born on February 7, 1931 to the late Martin and Bertha Hesnault in St. Joseph.

He graduated from Central High School and then went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was a dairy farmer and never lived further than five miles from the place that he was born.

Upon his retirement, he enjoyed traveling and maintaining his show place of flowers and &nbsp;doing volunteer work. Francis was a charter member of Road to Recovery Drivers for the American Cancer Society and he volunteered for years for Meals on Wheels and the Open Door Food Kitchen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his long time companion Allene Patton and his brother Martin Hesnault.

Funeral service 2:00 PM, Monday at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.

JoAnn Malita, born June 20, 1933, died July 11, 2023, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Malita, and infant daughter, Angela. She is survived by sons Craig Malita (Stephanie), Paul Malita (Tomme), Chad Malita (Jeanette), and daughters Ann Smith (Jeff), and Erica Johnson (Bob), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

JoAnn grew up on a farm east of St. Joseph, lived briefly in Kansas City, Kansas after marrying Charlie on June 23, 1956, and then lived the remainder of her life in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was the daughter of William and Christina (Wiedmaier) Karl. JoAnn graduated from Clarksdale High School and Mount St. Scholastica College, with a degree in Home Economics. She taught high school home economics and worked as a nutritionist at a Kansas City hospital before turning to her full-time job of raising five children.

In college, JoAnn was active in sports and clubs. She maintained life-long friendships with her college pals. After her children were older, she was involved in various ministries at her church, St. Francis Xavier, including the Altar Society. For many years, she served alongside Charlie in volunteering for the House of Bread. JoAnn enjoyed cooking, gardening, grandkids and watching the Kansas City Royals. She will be deeply missed.

Judith D. Puckett, 82, passed away on July 10, 2023, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was born on December 28, 1940, in Pattonsburg, Missouri, to Loy and Wilma (Bozarth) Fanning.

Judith attended Lafayette High School and later worked as a machine feeder at Mead Products for 23 years until her retirement. She was a dedicated employee and even played on the company's softball team alongside three of her daughters.

She married Jerry Puckett on October 25, 1959. She enjoyed giving her husband a hard time, and their playful banter was a testament to their strong and enduring relationship.

She loved visiting Branson with her family. An avid gardener, she found joy tending to her plants and watching them grow, and she enjoyed canning the produce she grew. Judith was a talented crocheter, creating beautiful blankets that will serve as a comforting reminder of her love and care.

Judith loved her grandchildren dearly and cherished every moment spent with them. Her home was always filled with laughter and love, and she created a warm and welcoming environment for all who entered.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents, Loy and Wilma (Bozarth) Fanning; stepfather, Rodrick Thuman; brothers, Jackie Fanning and Norman Fanning; brother-in-law, Jack Veraguth; mother and father-in-law, Lena and Ralph Puckett; nephew, Rusty; grandson, Austin; and great-grandson, Declan.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years, Jerry Puckett, and their children, Tammy Lenhardt (Donnie), Lena R. Puckett, Wilma Fischer (Bobby), Jerry Lee Puckett (Pam), Peggy Benner Puckett, and Cindy Patrylak (Chris). She also leaves behind her sister, Paula Veraguth, three brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog, Buddy.

Marcia Lucille Everett, 79, of Kansas City, MO, passed away peacefully at home with her family on Sunday, July 9, after a three-year battle with ALS. Marcia was born Marcia Lucille Russon in Los Angeles, CA, on March 24, 1944, to John and Mary Russon. On April 17, 1971, she married Richard Everett, then a Captain in the US Army, in the Los Angeles temple. Together, Rick and Marcia raised five children as they travelled the country, making a home wherever the Army sent them.

They have lived in Leavenworth and then Kansas City since 1992. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved stepmom, Lyn “Nani” Russon and three brothers, John Kimball Russon, David Russon, and Steve Russon.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rick, her children and their spouses, Laurie (David) Jacobus, Alison (Niel) Campbell, Emily (Kevin) Garlock, Mary (James) Thompson, and Bradley (Kate) Everett and her 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Ann (Ted) Everett, John Henry (Annie) Russon, Mary Ellen (Dennis) Larson, brother- in-law Arthur (Susan) Everett and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marcia had the gift of making everyone she met feel welcome and loved. She was someone who never met a stranger and made friends everywhere. She was a talented florist, seamstress, and homemaker. She was also a beautiful singer. She loved to travel and spoke fluent German. Marcia earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and served a church mission in Switzerland with her parents before she married. She also served with Rick in San Diego, CA, after they raised their children.

She held numerous volunteer leadership positions for local congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was always available to help those in need. She will be remembered for a lifetime spent in the service of others.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 1:30 P.M.

Marcia was born Marcia Lucille Russon in Los Angeles, CA, on March 24, 1944, to John and Mary Russon. On April 17, 1971, she married Richard Everett, then a Captain in the US Army, in the Los Angeles temple. Together, Rick and Marcia raised five children as they travelled the country, making a home wherever the Army sent them. They have lived in Leavenworth and then Kansas City since 1992. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved stepmom, Lyn “Nani” Russon and three brothers, John Kimball Russon, David Russon, and Steve Russon. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Rick, her children and their spouses, Laurie (David) Jacobus, Alison (Niel) Campbell, Emily (Kevin) Garlock, Mary (James) Thompson, and Bradley (Kate) Everett and her 14 grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Ann (Ted) Everett, John Henry (Annie) Russon, Mary Ellen (Dennis) Larson, brother- in-law Arthur (Susan) Everett and numerous nieces and nephews. Marcia had the gift of making everyone she met feel welcome and loved. She was someone who never met a stranger and made friends everywhere. She was a talented florist, seamstress, and homemaker. She was also a beautiful singer. She loved to travel and spoke fluent German. Marcia earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and served a church mission in Switzerland with her parents before she married. She also served with Rick in San Diego, CA, after they raised their children. She held numerous volunteer leadership positions for local congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was always available to help those in need. She will be remembered for a lifetime spent in the service of others.Visitation will be held Monday, July 17, 2023 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 10 A.M. Burial will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery at 1:30 P.M.

Carlyn Carson, 92, passed away peacefully July 7, 2023 at Oakridge Care Facility in Plattsburg, MO.  Carlyn was married to Russell Carson for 72 years and they spent most of their adult life in Plattsburg, MO. 

She is survived by Daughter - Dianna Ness &amp; David; Son - Gerry Carson &amp; Sharon; 4 Grand Sons &amp; 6 Great Grand Children. Carlyn was a Gray Lady Volunteer for the Red Cross, a Girl Scout Den Mother as well as a Cub Scout Den Mother. 

There will be a Celebration of Life for both Carlyn &amp; Russell Carson on July 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Tinnen Town Hall Event Center at 100 E. Maple St. in Plattsburg, MO.  In Lieu of Flowers, The Family asks for Donations to: Crossroads Hospice, 14310 East 42nd Street, South Unit 600, Independence, MO. 64055 in Carlyn’s Name.
