Gabrielle was born January 20, 1990, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Howard Cline, Sr., and Veronica (Cairo) Fultz. She graduated from Atchison High School and worked with her mother as a caregiver for her grandmother. Gabrielle was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed making crafts, helping people “Other’s before self” was a saying of hers.

Larry Nance, 83, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away December 7, 2022.

He was born on August 22, 1939, in Maysville, Missouri to William Milton Wesley Nance and Vera Marie (Leonard) Morris.

He attended Lafayette High School, and after graduating he joined the Air National Guard where he served for 6 years. In 1960, Larry married the love of his life, Ruth Ann Curtis. They shared 62 years together. Larry worked for General Motors for 32 years until his retirement.

Larry was a car and motorcycle enthusiast, especially when it came to drag racing motorcycles. He designed and built his own drag bike and held 2 world records certified by the American Hot Rod Association in the one-eighth mile and one-quarter mile. Larry was a perfectionist, and inventor. He loved living life to the fullest, whether he was riding horses or Harley’s with his friends, deer hunting, or enjoying his swimming pool. Larry was also a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and the St. Joseph Rifle &amp; Pistol Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, stepparents, Charlie Morris and Wanda Nance; son, Larry R. Nance; and grandson Shannon Nance.

Survivors include his wife, brother Ronald L. Nance; daughter Brenda (Jimmy) Burris; daughter in law, Sherry Nance; grandsons, Elliott Burris and Ronnie R. Nance; niece, Lisa Menschik; and several great-grandchildren.

He was born on August 19, 1948, to William George Larabee and Mary (Bennett) Larabee.

He attended Benton High School and went to work for Hillyard Industries, where he retired after 42 years. In 1965, he married Bettie L. Runnels, and they shared 57 years together.

Russell was an avid outdoorsman; he especially loved fishing and hunting. He loved his boat the most. He had a strong work ethic and was a family man. He was the glue of the family, although he was ornery and stubborn too. Russell was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and papa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rusty L. Larabee; and siblings, Marion Larabee, Chuck Larabee, Sue Larabee and Raymond Larabee.

Survivors include his wife; daughter, Tammy (Troy) Jordan, Patty (Keith) Perry; siblings, Ron Larabee, Bob Larabee, David Larabee, and Carolyn Larabee; grandson, Cody Kelly; granddaughters, Jacie Larabee and Mackenzee Sellars; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Vera Jean Baker, 91 of Savannah passed away December 6, 2022. She was born on April 5, 1931, in Blythedale, MO to Elmer and Ruth Huitt. Vera married Curtis (CB) Baker on August 3, 1949, which they celebrated 73 years of marriage.

Vera was church choir director in Texas where they wintered for many years. She enjoyed music, fishing, and family dinners where she loved cooking for anyone, hungry or not. She spent many years tending to a large garden and flowers, roses, pansies, and violets always her favorites.

Proceeded her in death are her parents, siblings Carlyle, Nina, Robert and Harold, a baby daughter, a grandson Toby, and son-in-law Butch Oliver.

Terry married the love of her life, Walt McPheeters, on March 23, 1963 in Sacramento, California and to this union a son was born.

After moving to Maysville, Terry and Walt became members of the First Baptist Church where she taught Girls in Action for many years to numerous children. Terry enjoyed working at the Maysville school as a cook, Maysville EOC office and volunteering at the Dekalb County Public Library and Living Hope Food Pantry.

Terry is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her beloved husband of over 59 years, Walt, who survives of the home; son, John McPheeters; grandchildren, Jacob and Skyler McPheeters; brother, Clint Stewart; sisters, Diana and Lua;&nbsp;&nbsp;and a host of friends.

Known for his sarcastic sense of humor, DJ was a good kid who helped anyone in need.

Corinne Danette Black, 66, of Lansing, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Saint Luke’s North in Kansas City, Missouri.

Corinne was born on January 6, 1956 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Lawrence Y.F. Chai and Elisabeth Muth. She grew up with two sisters, Wanda and Remona.

Corinne married Earl Black on June 10, 1995.

Corinne attended Emporia State for two years. She worked for the United States Department of Education and retired in 2009.

Corinne resided in the Leavenworth and Lansing area her whole adult life.

Corinne loved her pets and the television.

Corinne is survived by her husband, Earl Black, of Lansing, Kansas, sister, Ramona Kelley, of Leavenworth, Kansas and a nephew, Christopher Kelley.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to AICPA and Kidney Foundation.

Billy Frank Farrell, 80, of Smithville, MO passed away, December 5, 2022.

He was born on January 5, 1942 to Justin Leroy and Virginia Ruth (Devers) Farrell in Grant City, MO. Bill grew up in Grant City and graduated from Grant City High School.

On May 26, 1962 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Brown. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.

Bill sold Over the Road Tires for many years, he retired from Cross Midwest Tire Company. He enjoyed fishing at Smithville Lake and was a member of the Plattsburg Country Club where he enjoyed golfing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Farrell and Bob Farrell; and his daughter, Julia Bargman.

Bill grew up in Grant City and graduated from Grant City High School.On May 26, 1962 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Brown. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home.Bill sold Over the Road Tires for many years, he retired from Cross Midwest Tire Company. She was born on May 10, 1932, to John and Sophie (Gunkel) Schneider in Maryville, MO where she grew up and graduated from Horace Mann High School in Maryville, MO.

Annabelle married AV Carroll. After their marriage they lived in Maryville, MO and in 1958 they moved to Smithville, MO. AV passed away on August 29, 2017.

Annabelle was a member of the Smithville Red Hat Lady and volunteered with the Senior Center in Smithville.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her husband AV Carroll, her daughter-in-law Cathy Carroll and three brothers and one sister.&nbsp;

She is survived by her children Vickie Beigel and husband Larry. Steve Carroll and wife Jan and Richard Carroll; grandchildren Laura (Jesse), Jessi (Zack), Ben, Andrea (Jason), Jeremy, Zach (Carolyn), Sara (Kyle), Nicole, and Addison; great-grandchildren Cozette, Genevieve, Dylan, Nicholas, Lucas, Blake, Job, Bailee and Brody; sisters Nellie Anderson and Joan Cox; brothers Victor Schneider and Joe (Charlotte) Schneider; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Roland worked for the Structural Inspection Company in Kansas City as a crane operator and was a member of the Local 101 in Kansas City for many years.

After his retirement he enjoyed socializing and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Buck and Trudie Kenyon and his brothers Richard and Bob.

Roland is survived by his wife Judy Kenyon of the home; son Corey and daughters Julie (Andy) and Regina; brothers Elvy and Clyde; sisters Earline, Mary, Hazel, Polly, Judy and Jane; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

At his request, there will be no services.

Phillip Leroy Haynes 68, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022 in Saint Joseph at his home. He was born January 5, 1954 in St. Joseph, Missouri, son of the late Lucille &amp; Albert Haynes. 

He worked for the City of St. Joseph in the Street Maintenance Department. He loved talking his C.B. radio, watching wrestling, westerns, and listening to football games, and spending time with his family. 

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Larry Crump and Kenny Haynes, and a sister, Nancy Haynes. 

Survivors include: children: Beth (James McCay) Herringm St. Joseph, MO, Phillip (Jean) Haynes, Jr., Tasha Haynes, Buddy Haynes, Elaine McNamara, Joann Hawkins, and Alfred Moyer, brothers, Leroy Gross, Steven (Lori) Haynes, Max Haynes, and Vernon Haynes, sisters, Beth (Brad) Costello, Lisa Haynes, and Eva Frump of Saint Joseph, MO, grandchildren, Tucker &amp; Joy Herring, Gregory Miller, Christopher, Stephanie, Alyssa &amp; Ross White, Maria and Kellian.

Easton, MO — Dorthy Buehler Ford, 96, passed away on December 2, 2022 at a local healthcare center in St. Joseph, MO.

She was born November 30, 1926 in St. Joseph, MO to William John Buehler and Louise (Betzer) Buehler and was raised on her parent’s farm East of St. Joseph, MO.

Dorthy attended the first through eighth grades at Carnegie School, a one room school in rural Buchanan County, and had Mrs. Bessie Ellison as her teacher for all eight years.

Dorthy graduated from Central High School, Class of 1944 and was active in the school’s orchestra and a member of the National Honor Society. She continued her education, graduating from St. Joseph Junior College in 1946 and Gard Business University in 1948.

From 1948 to 1950 she worked as a secretary at the Tootle-Lacey Bank in St. Joseph, MO.

On April 6, 1950, she married Jerry Edward Ford at First Christian Church in St. Joseph, MO. After Dorthy married, she assisted Jerry in operating a Grade A Dairy for 28 years and then helped in transitioning the farm to a beef and grain operation. They celebrated 62 years of marriage until Jerry passed away on March 3, 2013.

She was a member of the former San Antonio Christian Church and later attended Central Christian Church. She was also active in the Oakland Extension Club.

Dorthy was a talented musician and played the piano, organ and violin. For many years she was the pianist/organist for the San Antonio Christian Church and played for numerous weddings, funerals and special events.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Survivors include her daughter Deborah (Kevin) Schwader, two grandsons Grant Ford Schwader and Tyler (Victoria) Schwader and two great-granddaughters Reagan Rye Schwader and Presley Pearl Schwader.

Thelma was born in Easton, KS to Clarance and Nina Langley on February 26, 1928.

Thelma married Albert Geisen on September 15,1947, to this union were born 2 daughters Judy and Donna. Thelma enjoyed time with her family and bird watching.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Albert, and their lifelong friends Joe and Helen Bristow.

She is survived by her daughters Judy (Benny) of Easton, KS and Donna (Cameron) of Basehor, KS, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a special niece Carol and her husband Gary, and all her family of friends at Twin Oaks Independent Living.

Jimmie R. Roan, 51, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away on December 1, 2022.

Jimmie was born on May 16, 1971 in Worland, Wyoming to Betty and Jack Roan. Jimmie married Shandolyn Shipers on June 17, 2014 in Leavenworth, Kansas. He acquired an associates degree of Criminal Justin in Wyoming.

Jimmie worked as a correctional officer in the Leavenworth Federal Prison.

Jimmie resided in Wyoming, Korea, Kansas, Arizona. Being in the Army we travel and lived in many places. Jimmie retired as a Staff Sargent in the United States army in 2014. He achieved many awards and recognitions through this.

Jimmie loved to fish and play Call of Duty on the PlayStation. Jimmie attended the Church of the Latter Day Saints.

Jimmie is survived by his two daughters, Angela and Alexis, his parents, &nbsp;ex-wife, Shandolyn Roan of Platte City, and his best friends and co workers, Ralf Bruning and Jeff Richardson.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Leavenworth County Humane Society.

Jimmie R. Roan 1971 - 2022

Stewartsville, Missouri…William “Bill” Patrick passed away suddenly on December 1, 2022.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was enjoying a nice evening with a friend and his family and friends are grateful that he was not alone.

Bill was born on April 15, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Thelma and William Patrick, and later moved to Minnesota.&nbsp;&nbsp;His dad passed away in an auto accident, leaving his mom alone to raise his sister and brothers, Beverly (Ted) French, Lou (Robin) Patrick, Todd (Teresa) Patrick, and Ted (Sara) French.

Bill graduated from Northfield High School and later earned his Business Degree at Campbell University in North Carolina.

Bill was passionate about our country, our Constitution, and preserving freedom. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 1967 and promptly volunteered to fight communism in Vietnam.&nbsp;&nbsp;Bill was a courier in the most dangerous parts of Vietnam and later served as Recoilless Rifle and Base coordinator in the Dong Ha region.&nbsp;&nbsp;Bill was honorably discharged in May 1969 and received numerous distinguished decorations, medals, and ribbons.

After Vietnam, Bill worked many years for the Burlington Northern Railroad.&nbsp;&nbsp;However, his love of country prevailed, and Bill served his country again. Bill served in the Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina from 1982 to 1986 in the 82nd Airborne Infantry division.&nbsp;&nbsp;Due to his stellar performance, he was invited and attended Ronald Reagan’s Presidential inauguration.&nbsp;&nbsp;He received high decorations and awards for his valor.

Bill finished out his military career in the Army National Guard where he met his beloved band of brothers: John Tripp, Barry Brightwell, Russell Underwood, and James Kipper.

Bill was married in January 1971 to Carole Pepper Nelson (Carole Eulinger) and together they raised 3 children, primarily on Minnesota and Missouri farms. Bill was immensely proud of his children and loved them very much. After his first marriage ended, Bill experienced love again with wife, Becky Patrick and later, his significant other, Debbie Ballin.&nbsp;&nbsp;Although Bill was single when he passed away, he remained close to all three woman and cared for them deeply.

Bill lived life to the fullest.&nbsp;&nbsp;He loved the great outdoors and had many adventures.&nbsp;&nbsp;He enjoyed studying history and was a walking, talking encyclopedia.&nbsp;&nbsp;He loved good times with friends and family, alongside a cold beer, or two.&nbsp;&nbsp;He enjoyed laughing and visiting with his brothers Buddy and Teddy.&nbsp;&nbsp;Bill loved his dogs, one of them being his beloved German Shepherd, Dog.&nbsp;&nbsp;In honor of Dog’s service and love of Bill, Dog’s remains will&nbsp;&nbsp;be interred with Bill.&nbsp;&nbsp;Bill believed in his salvation through Jesus Christ and lives on “healthy, wealthy, and wise” forever more eternity.&nbsp;&nbsp;Semper Fi!

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Boyd Patrick and Thelma (Dick) Tuma, his sister Beverly, his brother Todd, and other friends and family.

Bill is survived by his children, Billy Patrick and Melissa (Leonard) Miller, step-daughter Katrina Nelson, bother, Lou (Robin) Patrick, brother Ted (Sara) French, grandchildren, Jordan (Nick) Hale, Shannon (Sabrina) Todd, Caleb Patrick, Brendon Nelson, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and his “adopted family” (Ed and Stephanie Sybert).

A celebration of life memorial service will be held in the Spring.&nbsp;&nbsp;More details will be provided by the family.

Stewartsville, Missouri…William “Bill” Patrick passed away suddenly on December 1, 2022.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was enjoying a nice evening with a friend and his family and friends are grateful that he was not alone.Bill was born on April 15, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Thelma and William Patrick, and later moved to Minnesota.&nbsp;&nbsp;His dad passed away in an auto accident, leaving his mom alone to raise his sister and brothers, Beverly (Ted) French, Lou (Robin) Patrick, Todd (Teresa) Patrick, and Ted (Sara) French.Bill graduated from Northfield High School and later earned his Business Degree at Campbell University in North Carolina.Bill was passionate about our country, our Constitution, and preserving freedom. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 1967 and promptly volunteered to fight communism in Vietnam.&nbsp;&nbsp;Bill was a courier in the most dangerous parts of Vietnam and later served as Recoilless Rifle and Base coordinator in the Dong Ha region.&nbsp;&nbsp;Bill was honorably discharged in May 1969 and received numerous distinguished decorations, medals, and ribbons.After Vietnam, Bill worked many years for the Burlington Northern Railroad.&nbsp;&nbsp;However, his love of country prevailed, and Bill served his country again. Ashton Nicole Smith 33, of Platte City, MO passed away December 4, 2022.

She was born on April 22, 1989, in St. Joseph, MO. Ashton grew up in Platte City and graduated from Platte County High School in 2007. While in high school, Ashton was involved in softball and basketball and was active in Young Life in Platte City.

Ashton had a great love for all animals from the goats on the farm to her chocolate lab, Tyson. She enjoyed playing bingo with the girls, watching movies, going to the lake, riding her bicycle, and attending concerts with her sister Tina. She was an avid sports fan, especially the KC Royals and KC Chiefs. Ashton was known for capturing all life’s funny and beautiful moments through her selfie stick. She had an infectious smile, always making everyone laugh, didn’t know a stranger and was the best daughter, sister, aunt and friend you could ask for and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Virginia and Larry Smith, Jim “Peaches” Brown, and Judie Littleton.

Ashton is survived by her dog Tyson; dad Roger (Lori) Smith; mom Jen (Mike) Vance; sisters Tina (Mike) Reed and Nikki (Todd) Tucker; brother Ian (Jessica) Flynn; niece Elsie Reed; nephews Jaxon Tucker and Vincent Flynn; grandparents Judy Brown, Mary Jo and Ron Misner, Charlie Littleton and Don Reed; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.&nbsp;

Frances Cecilia Sharpe (Schulz), “Fran,” 100, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2022. She is dearly missed by her many loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with&nbsp;God, with whom she had a vibrant relationship. Before her passing, her family was able to celebrate her 100 years of life together with Fran as the guest of honor.&nbsp;

Fran was born to Mary and Christian Schulz, in Staten Island, New York on January 31, 1922. She moved to Kansas after marrying her loving husband, William Sharpe. She worked for years as a nurse, caring for many. She lived a full, energetic life, spiritually, intellectually, and socially. Fran was always reading a book and working through a devotional. Fran was also passionate about flowers and loved shopping for and planting her spring annuals. Perhaps her greatest joy was her great-grandchildren. Fran loved the energy they&nbsp;brought into the house. She was thrilled to meet her newest great-granddaughter this Thanksgiving.&nbsp;

Fran is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband, William Sharpe, her son David Sharpe, and her great-grandson, Landon Jaros. Fran is survived by her children, Dennis Sharpe (Susan), Kimberlee Nichols (Steve), and Kevin Sharpe (Julie); her grandchildren, Ryan Nichols (Colleen), Megan Jaros (Todd), Cara McBride (Josh), Justin Montgomery (Tori), Josh Sharpe (Mari), and Jessi Sharpe. She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

Services will be at Brookdale Presbyterian Church on Monday December 12, 2022, with a visitation at 10 a.m. and a service at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest at&nbsp;St. Joseph Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mary E. (Christenson) Simpson, 91, of Troy, Kansas passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.&nbsp;

Mary was born on January 19, 1931, in Troy, Kansas to Jule and Mary (Turpin) Christenson.&nbsp;

She worked for Big Smith and then for Golden Star for over 30 years.&nbsp;

Mary married Jack Simpson. They later divorced and preceded him in death.&nbsp;
