Melvin "Tobe" Dean Handley, age 94, of Onaga, Kansas, passed away at Eastridge Nursing Home on Monday, June 3, 2024. &nbsp;He was born on May 12, 1930, in Onaga, Kansas, to Evelyn Richmond Handley Novak and Bert Handley. &nbsp;Tobe was a lifelong resident of Onaga.

Tobe graduated from Onaga High School in 1948. Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the Korean conflict and served in the Army stationed in Japan until 1952. Upon his return, he married Mary Jean Grim on November 29, 1953. Together, they had one daughter, Melinda Handley Fisher (Ramon) of Onaga.

Tobe dedicated 47 years of his professional life to the Kansas Power and Light Company, (Westar) (Evergy). &nbsp;Additionally, he was deeply committed to the Community Hospital Onaga, where he was first elected to the board on February 6,1976 and served as President/Chairman from 2001 to 2014. &nbsp;During his 38 years on the Board of directors he was a champion of rural health care and was involved in 3 renovations as well. &nbsp;He served on the Board of Directors or as Board President for over 30 years, championing rural health care.

An avid hunter, Tobe once owned over 38 trail hounds. &nbsp;He loved coyote and quail hunting and working bird dogs, and cherished fishing and hunting with his friends and grandsons. Known for his incredible memory, he loved to share humorous stories about life, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.

He leaves behind a loving family, including grandchildren Dalton Blow (Kelsey) of Onaga, Dustin Blow (Megan) of Wheaton, Kassidy Fisher (Kameron) of Topeka, Zachary Fisher of Onaga (Baker University in Baldwin City), and Rayce Fisher of Onaga, two sisters-in-law, Cindy (Hank) Hays, of Fort Smith, Arkansas and Neva Handley, of Onaga. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Brynnlee and Baker (children of Dustin and Megan), of Wheaton.&nbsp;

Tobe was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Mary Jean Handley (Grim), three siblings, Dale "Tex" Handley, Phyliss Lewis Porter (John), and Judy Handley (Spurlock), and three half-siblings, Clarence “Bud” Handley, Gladys Gillenwater and Lucile Armstrong.&nbsp;

Tobe was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion and the First Congregational UCC Church of Onaga. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and numerous longtime friends whom he considered family.

The family wishes to offer sincere thanks to the numerous people who helped keep Tobe in his home until the last few weeks of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Eastridge Nursing Facility in Centralia, KS, as a token of gratitude for the amazing and compassionate care provided to Tobe.

Tobe's dedication to his community, his love for rural life, and his passion for family and friends will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. His stories and humor will continue to bring smiles to the faces of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Celebration of life services with Masonic Rites and Military Honors will be held outside at the Onaga Cemetery on Saturday, June 15th at 10:30 a.m. &nbsp;The family will be available immediately following the service at the Onaga Community Center, where a luncheon will be served. &nbsp;There will be a register book available to sign from 9:00 a.m. to Noon, Monday through Friday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Onaga.

Wanda S. Briggs, 76, Atchison, Kansas, passed away, Friday, May 31, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.&nbsp;

There will be no services by request of Mrs. Briggs. Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Wanda was born October 5, 1947, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the daughter of Archie and Mary (Caliup) Ridings. She attended school in St. Joseph, graduating from Central High School in 1965. She later attended Hillyard Technical School for nursing and went on to work in the nursing field.&nbsp;

She and Israel A. Briggs were united in marriage on July 22, 1988, in St. Joseph, Missouri. Mr. Briggs preceded her in death on April 6, 2017.&nbsp;

Survivors include children, James Briggs, Gordon Briggs, Janel Clay Bills, Danelle Briggs, and a daughter-in-law, MoaDonna Weston.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a son Lorne Weston.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. Louis Good Intent Catholic Church with Fr. Hughes Sundeme as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

He graduated from Huron High School. In 1956 he bought the family farm that had been in the family since 1868. Raymond served in the Army National Guard for ten years attending Staff Seargent 1st Class. He worked at LFM-Rockwell and Atchison Casting attaining the job as Industrial Electrician for thirty-nine years after he got his Master Contractor Electrical License and starting the Erpelding and Son Electrical Company with several employees for twenty-five years. Raymond trained roping horses and enjoyed riding and fishing. He and Jim Kahl did team roping in Nebraska, Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. He was a member of the St. Louis Good Intent Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council.

Raymond married Helen Frances Majewski on October 2, 1956, at St. Louis Good Intent Catholic Church. 

She preceded him on August 21, 2013. Survivors include three sons, Mark and Paula Erpelding, Freeburg, IL, Luke and Sarah Erpelding, Atchison, KS, Peter and Christy Erpelding, Atchison, KS, two daughters, Karen and Gary Reidmiller, Mulvane, KS, Donna and Mark Suddith, Augusta, KS, a sister Rose Schultz, Rogers, AK, nineteen grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren.

He was also preceded by his parents, a son Dennis Erpelding, one grandchild, two great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Gene Schultz.

Marilynn Burks, 75, St. Joseph, Missouri; passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital onMonday, June 3, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

Marilynn was born on April 26, 1949 in Stanberry, Missouri to the late Lloyd andMary Jo (Womach) Miller. She was a 1967 graduate of King City High School.

Marilynn married Chester LaVern Burks on June 12, 1970. She was a devoted wife,mother and grandmother.

Beyond devoting her life caring for her family, Marilynn also worked at AmericanFamily Insurance for numerous years.

Mrs. Burks was talented in arts and crafts, and enjoyed scrapbooking, needlepointand sewing. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family and was adoting grandma.

Marilynn Burks 1949 - 2024

Carol Lawler Fairlie, 79, passed away on June 4, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri, after battling cancer for the past year.

She was born November 1, 1944, to James and Catherine Lawler in Kansas City, Missouri.&nbsp;

Carol married the love of her life, Thomas Fairlie, on August 15, 1964, and they shared 50 beautiful years together before Tom’s death in 2015.

Carol was an elementary teacher in the St. Joseph School District for 34 years. She cherished the relationships she built as a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Runcie Club, St. Joseph Retired Teachers, and Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church’s Side-by-Side group. She loved hosting family and friends for celebrations large and small.

Her family is grateful for the treasured memories she was able to create with her granddaughter Emma, especially over the past months while she lived in St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Survivors: daughter, Kristen Smarr (Russell); son, Kevin Fairlie (Lauren); granddaughter Emma Fairlie; brother, James Lawler (Marcia); brother, Robert Lawler.

Carol lived life to the fullest and loved bright, happy colors. The family asks attendees to forgo traditional dark colored clothing at the farewell services in honor of Carol’s joyful spirit.

Ronald Dean Scrivener, 69, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord on June 1st, 2024, at his home at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was born on March 11, 1955 in Kansas City, MO to James and Winnie (Deane) Scrivener. Ron was a 1973 graduate of North Platte High School. 

He married his wife, Debra Holtkamp Scrivener, and they resided in Camden Point, MO. Ron spent many years of his life taking care of others. He was a member of the Camden Point Fire Department and worked for MAST as an EMT for 25 years, retiring in 2010.After retirement, Ron , along with his wife and son, moved to Roach, MO at the Lake of the Ozarks in 2017. 

He enjoyed boating and tinkering with motors. He especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, James Olin Scrivener, his mother, Winnie (Dean) Scrivener, and his sister, Patsy Smith. 

He is survived by: his wife, Debbie Scrivener of Lake of the Ozarks, his brother James Scrivener, and his wife Lila of Dearborn, MO, his sister, Betty Rust, and her husband Bill, of Smithville, MO, his son, Randal Scrivener of Lake of the Ozarks, and his daughter Tracy Shippee, and her husband Adam and grandchildren, Gracelyn and Benjamin of Smithville, MO, as well as many nephews and nieces. 

A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 6th at the Vaughn-Aufranc Funeral Home in Dearborn, Missouri; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Interment services will follow at the Dearborn Cemetery.

Ronald Dean "Ronnie" Scrivener 1955 - 2024

Ruth Marion — teacher to hundreds, a mentor to many and friend to all — passed away, May 27, 2024, in St. Joseph, Mo. She was 82.

Ruth was born October 7, 1941, to Esther and Vernon Marion, in St. Joseph, Mo. She graduated from Central High School in 1959 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Missouri Western State College. She was a member of South Park United Methodist Church.

She worked for over 15 years as a high school teacher at the St. Joseph School District and Elwood School District. She loved helping people and held positions at Family Guidance Center and Wyatt Park Baptist Church.

Ruth had many hobbies through the years, sewing and gardening being some of her favorites. But nothing compared to the time she got to spend with all her grandchildren.

In her later years she fell in love with rescuing cats, every feline friend had their own unique name, she would go out to garden and they would follow her through the yard, meowing as they went. Spending time with them, became one of her favorite pastimes.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her children, Gail D. Marion and Steve M. Flores; grandchildren, Shannon Ellis, Marla Stubbs, Jessica and Alicia Flores and sister, Francis L. Mitchell.

Ruth Marion — teacher to hundreds, a mentor to many and friend to all — passed away, May 27, 2024, in St. Joseph, Mo. She was 82.Ruth was born October 7, 1941, to Esther and Vernon Marion, in St. Joseph, Mo. She graduated from Central High School in 1959 and went on to earn her Bachelor’s in Psychology at Missouri Western State College. She was a member of South Park United Methodist Church.She worked for over 15 years as a high school teacher at the St. Joseph School District and Elwood School District. Daniel Charles Borkowski, 68, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on June 3, 2024.

Dan was born on December 7th, 1955, to Clarence Carl and Eva Frances (nee Sexton) Borkowski, Sr. in St. Joseph, Missouri. Dan was the youngest of 7 children. After Dan graduated from Lafayette High School in 1974, he went on to study Mathematics at Missouri Western State College.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Education in Mathematics he taught for 2 years before leaving to attend Northeast Missouri State University (Truman State), Northwest Missouri State University achieving his Master of Science in Education and continuing at University of Missouri – Kansas City earning his Specialist in Educational Administration.

While finishing these degrees, he started teaching at Kearney R-I School District in 1982 where he culminated a 32-year career teaching math, coaching both boys and girls basketball, football and softball. Dan thrived in the classroom giving his students a love of math and on the field supporting their passion and driving them to great accomplishments.

In 2015, Dan retired and continued to manage In School Suspension and tutor students at Mathnasium for another 5 years.

Dan was predeceased by his father Clarence Carl Borkowski, Sr., his mother Eva Frances Borkowski, his brothers Clarence Carl “Junior” Borkowski, Jr. and Steven Cary Borkowski, brothers-in-law Jere Buttimer and Robert Hebden.

He is survived by sisters Mary Etta Laine (Robert), Nancy Buttimer, Cathy Hebden and brother Thomas Borkowski.

David Paul Shobe, 38, Lawrence, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024.

He was born on August 22, 1985, to Robert Jr. and Dorothy (Fish) Shobe in Kirksville, Missouri.

David earned his associate degree from Baker University, and also attended the University of Kansas. He completed his officer training for the police department at Missouri Western State University. He was employed through the Plattsburg Police Department for several years.

He was currently working as a leadership advisor for the University of Kansas Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, and also served as an overseer for children in protective custody at O’Connell Youth Ranch. David was passionate about working with children and had a gift for being a safe person that children flocked to.

David might come off as intimidating, but underneath his large stature was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. Everywhere he went, he never met a stranger. David easily made lasting friendships with the people he would meet and made them feel important.

He had a strong Christian faith and was also an ordained minister who officiated countless wedding ceremonies for his friends and family. David grew up at the Hurdland Southern Baptist Church where he was baptized.

David was a sports fanatic who enjoyed watching wrestling programs. He was a huge KU basketball and football fan, and a Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was also a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and the Fraternal Order of Police.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert L. Shobe Sr.; grandmother, Frances Hayes; uncle, David Brogan; and his beloved dog and best friend, Moose.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Lewis (Vince); father, Robert L. Shobe Jr; beloved daughter, Mykie Shobe; loving fiancée, Sheila Ellis; sisters, Lisa Johnson and Katie Shobe; grandmother, Susie Shobe; God-son, Isaac McCurren; nephew, Aaron Lee Johnson; niece, Lexus Johnson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Virginia “G-Ann” Woodbury, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024.

She was born March 26, 1938 in St. Joseph to Harold and Eulalia (Geiger) Petersen. She was a 1955 graduate of Central High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree in Business at Missouri Western.

Virginia married Reid Ames Woodbury on August 2, 1957. They shared a love story for nearly 67 years as a team, with Reid taking care of her in her final years.

After raising her sons, Virginia was instrumental in running the office for her husband’s contracting businesses and resort management in Colorado.

She was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, Junior League, Downtown St. Joseph Sertoma Club, where she was president of the Sertoma Couples Club, board member of the Ladies Union Benevolent Association, and did data entry for the St. Joseph Museums. She also was named a volunteer of the year by the St. Joseph Rotary Club.

The Flood of 1993 spurred Virginia into action as a volunteer for the Red Cross. She spent the following 20 years as a disaster volunteer and was sent to many locations, including St. Croix, Guam and to New York City after 9/11. She won the Red Cross’ Clara Barton Award. Virginia and Reid were co-chairs of the capital campaign for the new Red Cross Headquarters in St. Joseph.

Virginia enjoyed skiing in Colorado, bicycling and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Reid; sons, Reid Ames Woodbury, Jr. (Lee-Ann) of Tarzana, California, and Charles Edward Woodbury (Marsha) of Decatur, Alabama; and sisters, Janet Russell of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Patricia Petersen of Durham, North Carolina.

Edythe was a jack of all trades fishing, sewing, baking, cooking, candy making and loved her grandkids, scrabble, puzzles and going to her sister’s monthly luncheon.

Edythe married William E. “Bill” Myers on August 18, 1973, at the Carol Baptist Church, Atchison, KS. Bill survives of the home. She is also survived by two sons Raymond Albright, Atchison, KS, Roi Albright, Atchison, KS, a daughter Cheryl and Mike Petesch, Atchison, KS, four sisters, Leila McConnaughey, Everest, KS, Sharon Gladman, Independence, MO, Linda McCray, St. Joseph, MO, Pam Westbrook, Independence, MO, twelve grandchildren, forty-five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, multiple nieces and nephews she loved and care for.

Donald Dean Campbell, 74, of St. Joseph, MO passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Monday, June 3, 2024.

He was born on October 29, 1949 in St. Joseph to the late Charles H. and Mary Alice (Smith) Campbell.

Don was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1973.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis K. Campbell.

He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Kathy, daughter; Jennifer (Andy) Vienhage, son; Paul Campbell, grandchildren; Bethany (Jesse), Hannah, Kendall, Brayden and two great-grandchildren, sister; Angela (Tim) Prawl, sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 6:00 -7:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the Heaton~Bowman~Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM. Full Military Honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service rendered by the U.S. Air Force and the American Legion Post 287 Honor Guard.

Inurnment of the cremated remains will take place at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Norman Ray Hoffman, 83, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2024.

He was born on October 19, 1940, to Luther I. and Velma M. (Leslie) Hoffman in Hemple, Missouri.

Norman was a 1960 graduate from Benton High School, an accomplishment that he was very proud of.

In 1961, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. During his time in the service he earned several awards, including the Vietnam Service medal, Good Conduct medal, and 1 Oak Leaf Cluster. Norman was honorably discharged in 1968.

He worked as a railroad conductor for Burlington Northern Railroad for 22 years before retiring. He also worked as a personal care assistant for Unity Group Homes.

Norman was a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a member of the Abundant Faith Church of God. He was a loyal, hard-working man of faith who enjoyed birdwatching, watching Westerns and the History channel.

On March 16, 2007, he was united in marriage to Wanda J. Graham. They shared many memories together during the 17 years they were married.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry, Frederick, Ronnie and Raymond Hoffman, and step-son, Brian Boulting.

Survivors include his loving wife, Wanda Hoffman; children, Pam Hudson, Sherry McElfresh, Jennifer Hoffman (James Hurst), and Larry Hoffman (Tasha Shown); step-children, Lisa Edmondson and Sean Barnett (Imojean); sisters, Frieda Ashford, Gerry Becerra, and Sharon LaFave; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bill James, 67, Smithville, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024.

He was born on September 18, 1956, to William II and Barbara “Barb” (Brown) James in Cameron, Missouri.

He proudly served for the United States Navy for several years. He later worked as a project manager for Cobalt Construction for 35 years.

On December 4, 1987, Bill married Roxi Kay Brown. She preceded him in death on February 24, 2021, after nearly 34 years of marriage.

In his younger years, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on the boat out on the lake. He enjoyed trips to Mexico with his wife and later continued taking trips to Mexico with his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his beloved grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his half-brother, David Carter; and his cherished wife, Roxi K. James.

Survivors include his children, Will James and Courtney Pippin (Jeff); sisters, Mary Doering and Stephanie Husted; grandchildren, Aiden and Avery Pippin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Wanda J. Sampson, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024.

She was born May 29, 1937 in St. Joseph to Glen and Hester (Dunham) Lawrence. She grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Benton High school.

She worked on the assembly line at ADCO for 32 years until retirement.

Wanda loved gambling, whether it was at the local casino or in Las Vegas, and liked to play cards, especially Skip-Bo. She also enjoyed reading, doing word search puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

Family time was important to Wanda, and she loved having everyone over for big dinners.

An ornery spitfire who wouldn’t hesitate to tell you what she thought, she kept things real for her daughters and they appreciated that.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Glenda Hewitt and Gerald Lawrence.

Survivors include her daughters, Zoe Bernard and Tara Wade; grandchildren, Blair Bernard, Bryce Bernard, Jaydee Pummell, and Tanner Billings; great-grandchildren, Harmani, Cian, Camin and Brylynn Bernard, and Wyatt and Callie Pummell; great-great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Tate and Colt Cox, Xacani Robinson, and Carter Fox; siblings, Vernon Lawrence and Gayle Pummell (Leon); many nieces, nephews and cousins; and best friend of more than 70 years, Bonnie Smith.

She was born July 13, 1954 to Earnest J. and Jennie M. (Conklin) Scharnhorst in Kansas City, Missouri.

She married Barry L. Mayden in 1996 and were married for 17 years when he passed.

Terry enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was extremely selfless and was always taking care of people she cared about. She also enjoyed going to garage sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Barry; two brothers; and first husband, Richard Esquivel.

Survivors include her daughters, Timberlyn Malewski (Nick) and Shantana Brown (Johnathan); stepson, Donovan Mayden; grandchildren, Tennyson and Delilah Malewski, Nathan, Tristan, Kaydan, Rylan, Logan, and Greysan Brown; brother, Randy Scharnhorst; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Mark Alan Harmon, 65 of Lansing passed away on May, 31, 2024 at his home. He was born February 2, 1959 in Ottawa, KS the son of Harley J. and Ellen Louise Paul Harmon. 

He graduated from Turner High School with the class of 1977. He was employed as a warehouse manager for several years. 

He was married to Denise Carol Harmon for 31 years, later divorced.&nbsp;Mark loved riding motorcycles, camping and fishing. He had such a soft heart for animals and would rescue anything and make it a beloved pet. Most of all he loved being around friends and family, proving an audience for his many stories and jokes. He is a proud, forever member of the “Boys Club.” 

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Louise Harmon, best friend “Butch” Eugene Underwood and many other dear friends. 

Survivors include his daughter, Andrea Harmon Hare ( Andrew), Ashley Harmon, Andrew Harmon, Alicia Harmon and Travis Stockman, 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, his sister, Sue Ellen Rollins, nephew, Travis Underwood, niece, Elizabeth Underwood and an earthly angel, Toni Sanders.&nbsp;

Cremation is planned. Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 9th, 2024 from 2-4 at the Davis Funeral Chapel, 531 Shawnee St., Leavenworth, Ks.

ONAGA – Hazel F. Fairbanks Corcoran Wyss, 103, of Onaga, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Onaga Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born February 5, 1921 on the family farm home, located five miles south of Onaga. She was the fifth child of Clarence Alphus and Violet Lavina Grossnickle Fairbanks.

Hazel attended a one room schoolhouse, Vienna Grade School, and graduated from Onaga High School in 1938.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1949. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior of her life during Bible School and was baptized by Rev. Earl Caryl. &nbsp;She served as Treasurer for 50 years, Sunday School Teacher, DVBS leader and teacher. &nbsp;She has remained a member of the First Baptist Church for over sixty years.

She used her God-given talent of singing since the early age of five, singing at family reunions, church, Eastern Star, High School Trio and many, many funeral services.

She was a receptionist for Dr. Fleckenstein and Dr. Walsh for several years, a supervisor at Slimmaker and Fashion Maker dress factories in Holton, and Onaga, a day care provider, and was City Clerk for twenty years. &nbsp; &nbsp;In the later years of her life, she was President of the Site Council and Treasurer of the Onaga Senior Center. &nbsp;Hazel was also a board member of the Onaga Housing Authority at Prairie View Apartments.She married Lawrence Orman Corcoran, they were blessed with three children. &nbsp;She became a single mom and took parenthood seriously. Dick &amp; Sadie Marten helped raise her children in their early years.On October 12, 1958 she married Robert C. “Bob” Wyss and added five more children &nbsp;to her family. &nbsp;Hazel’s greatest occupation in life was wife and mother. &nbsp;She was grandmother to twenty-three children, great grandmother to seven and great-great grandmother to five.Through the years, Hazel was blessed by exceptionally good health and a loving heart. &nbsp;She was the caregiver for a number of family members. &nbsp;Her last efforts were given to her husband, Bob, in their home. &nbsp;The last few years he spent in a wheel chair and basically could not talk, but one word he could speak was “Hazel”.Those preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Bob, of forty-six years, brothers, Lynn Fairbanks and Douglas Fairbanks, sisters, Sadie Marten, Lucille Bell and Dorothy Seybold, her son L. J. Corcoran, sons-in-law, Art Hay and John Harris, daughters, Linda Harris and Rita Hay, and a great grandson, Proinsas Hay.Those remaining are sons K.C.
