Roberta Claudene Lancaster, 86, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, December, 1st 2024.
She was born July, 11th 1938 in Arkansas. She grew up in Texas, where she graduated at the top of her class from the Pine Tree High School in Longview, Texas. Over the years she would reside in Vermont, and upstate New York before moving to the St. Joseph, Missouri area in 1973.
Roberta was a loving mother and raised 6 children: Richard Wallace, Susan (Wallace) Steidel, Robert, William, Bryan and Randy Eldridge.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, and playing the piano.
Over the years she worked at the St. Joseph State Hospital and was nurse at the Topeka and Leavenworth VA Hospitals.
Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Len Lancaster, sister Connie Morgan, and brother John Taylor.
Roberta has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Her wishes were to be scattered around her blooming lilac bushes in the spring, joining her late husband Len. The family will host a celebration of life service in the spring. Per her wishes, she also requested "Put the lime in the coconut" to be played at her celebration of life.
The date for the celebration of life will be set at a later date.
