Funeral Service will be held at the Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville, Mo. on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at !0:00 a.m., with Reverend David Castor officiating. Christian burial will follow at the Amity, Mo. Cemetery. Rose was born in Craig, Mo. to Frank and Margorie (Dorsel) Kuck on March 11, 1939.&nbsp;

She loved her family, quilting, crocheting, and raising African Violets.Rose never met a stranger and was affectionately referred to as “the boss” at Sunset Home.

She is survived by her sons, Ben Leach, of Maysville, and Keith (Margaret) Leach, of Hampton, Va., sister, Barbara Scoles, grandchildren, Harry Christina) Leach, Matthew (Erin) Leach, Aaron Leach, and Hannah Leach, great grandchildren, Harry Joseph, Conner, Lillian Rose, numerous other relatives, and a multitude of friends. Dorothy graduated from Benton High School in 1948. She started working for Armor &amp; Company in August of 1951 in the employment/insurance office for 32 years. The last 20 years, she was a secretary in the manager’s office. She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by longtime friend, Clara Lile; second cousin Sandra Johnson of Lehigh, Iowa.

It is with great sadness that the family shares Ronald “Ron” Edwin Gove, 87 of St. Joseph, MO, passed away on July 30, 2022.

Ron was born on August 19, 1934, to Harold and Jessie Gove in Mountain Lake, MN. After graduating from Mountain Lake High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon completing his service, he attended Mankato State College where he met his wife, Audrey.

Ron and Audrey (Baumann) were wed on August 15, 1960, in Le Sueur, MN. They were blessed to enjoy 61 years of marriage together. They made their home in New Ulm, MN, Bloomington, MN, Springfield, MO, and St. Joseph, MO. Audrey survives of the home. 

He is also survived by three children and 7 grandchildren. Ricky (wife Cindy, children Phillip, Darren, Cory of St. Joseph, MO), Randy (wife Tasha, children Jasper, Ting, of Taipei, Taiwan), and Amy Ellington (husband Jeffrey, children Erin, Connor of Kansas City, MO). Ron had three siblings Stanley Gove of MN (deceased), Allan Gove of CA, and Sharon Bednar of MN.

Ron enjoyed a long career of 53 years as a Shaklee Distributor. Ron played baseball in high school and pitched fastpitch softball for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, attending sporting events, and watching his Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He was a member of Silver &amp; Gold Club of Northwest Missouri. Ron never met a stranger and always had a joke for everyone. He was a lifelong Methodist, attending Wesley United Methodist in St. Joseph, MO and Kings Way United Methodist in Springfield, MO.

Harold Caldwell, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

He was born November 14, 1934 in St. Joseph to Roy and Alta (Munns) Caldwell. He graduated from Benton High School.

Harold proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later in the U.S. Air Force.

He married Betty Jean Belcher on November 7, 1958. She survives of the home.

He worked at Hillyard Industries for 33 years before retiring. Harold was an animal lover who also never knew a stranger. His family was most important to him and he would do anything for them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jimmie and Gary Culbertson; four sisters; and one brother.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty; daughters, Annette Phillips (Kevin), Cheryl Still (Ted), Tammy Frappier (Kevin), and Cynthia Jennings (Monte); 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; other extended family members and friends.

Virginia was born on January 2, 1941, in Wathena, Kansas to Francis and Georgia (Slaughter) Schiltz.

Virginia graduated Wathena High School in 1959 and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wathena, Kansas. She worked for the Wathena Times and Simpson’s Grocery.

Virginia married Don Shaw on May 19, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Wathena. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Jean Schiltz.

Dallas P. Pickett, 96, of Stewartsville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 27,&nbsp;2022 in St. Joseph, Mo.

Dallas was born on the family farm in rural Dekalb County to Rolla and Sue Mary (Kennedy) Pickett on August 26, 1925.&nbsp;

He graduated from Stewartsville High School in 1943 and went on to earn a degree in Agriculture from The University of Missouri.

Dallas worked as a farmer for most of his life.

He was an avid Mizzou Football Fan, and thoroughly enjoyed watching sports on T.V.

He absolutely loved bird watching and flower gardening. Dallas’s first love though was his beloved bride of 69 years, Chris, whom he doted over tirelessly. He loved all his family immensely, especially his children and grandchildren.

Dallas was a member of the Presbyterian-Christian Church in Stewartsville, where he attended for many years.

He is survived by his daughter Lesa Summers, daughter in law Vicki Pickett, grandchildren, Lauren (Deric) Berry, Casey (Preston) Taylor, Zoe Summers, and Max Summers, great grandchildren, Isla, Poppy, and Graham, numerous other relatives, and a multitude of friends.

Dallas Perry Pickett 1925 - 2022

Robert A. Franken, 90, of Troy passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

He was born August 23, 1931, in Fanning to William A. and Harriett Guthrie Franken.

He attended school in Troy and Highland and graduated from high school in Hollandale, Mississippi in 1949. After military service in the Korean War, Bob farmed in Fanning before becoming the Postmaster at the Troy Post Office. He retired from the post office in 1988. Bob was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Troy and the Knights of Columbus at that parish.

He married JoAnn C. Hess on June 6, 1953, in Atchison. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Vickie Franken of Topeka, and Barb (Tim) Collins of Highland, six sons, Bill (Janet) Franken of Wathena, Steve (Lori) Franken of Topeka, Mike (Becky) Franken of Topeka, Paul (Karen) Franken of Garfield, Arkansas, Bob Franken of Troy, and Brian (Sue) Franken of Wathena, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a sister, Joan Fuhrman of Highland and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Andrew, John, and William, and one sister, Kathleen Sudduth.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 3 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Troy. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery in Fanning at a later date.

Rosary will be at 5:30 PM on August 2 at St. Charles Catholic Church with visitation to follow at the church from 6 to 8 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus at St. Charles Catholic Church in Troy or the St. James Catholic Cemetery in Fanning.

He was born on March 22, 1944 to John and Mary (Forbes) Goldizen in St. Joseph, Missouri. He worked at Leaverton Auto Supply, Dishon Tire and TBA. He married Karen (Raines) Goldizen on March 3, 1965. She survives of the home.

Butch enjoyed spending time with his family, cars, drag racing, softball, bowling horseshoes, his Ram truck, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Sue; brothers, William (Ester) Goldizen and Bob (Phyllis) Goldizen; sisters, Betty (Robert) Jacobs, Sue (Charlie) Jones, Evelyn (Dean) Larrison, Joan (Standley) McKnight, Billie Jean Goldizen, and Rosemary (David) Bonham.

He was born December 23, 1978 in St. Joseph to Daniel J. and Dorothy (Nolan) Gross.

Danny married Rachel Justice on May 11, 2002. They later divorced. He worked at A-1 Tree Service and Gross Disposal. Danny enjoyed fast cars and fast bikes, playing pool at Chalk &amp; Cue, historical movies and “The Walking Dead.” He loved his grandkids, giving them balloons every time they came over.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Gross, I; sister, Shauna Clark; and grandparents, Vie and Dave Welter, and Daniel and Joyce Nolan.

She was born on July 15, 1952 to Johnny and Ellen (Streck) Sherrill in St. Joseph, Missouri. On March 30, 1974, Charlene married Lloyd Allen Leslie. In their almost 40 years of marriage, they lovingly raised a family. Lloyd preceded Charlene in death on February 15, 2014.

Charlene worked at Mead and American Family for many years. Along with her work, she enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and watching Jeopardy every day.

She was preceded in death by her husband; mother; son, Daniel Leslie; brother, Terry and grandmother, Caroline Streck.

Jacqueline Joy Bigham, 84, St. Joseph, went to be with her Father on July 24, 2022.

Jackie was born April 15, 1938 in Pender, Nebraska to Vernon and Eleanor (Brummond) Rebensdorf. She graduated from Pender High School. After moving to St. Joseph, she attended Platte Business School and then worked for St. Joseph Light &amp; Power Co.

In 1960, she married Morton Lee Bigham, who survives of the home. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a volunteer at Hall Elementary School while her children attended there. Jackie enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and taking long car rides with Mort. She also bowled at the Belt Bowl, where she was Castoff League secretary for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Teddy C. Rebensdorf.

She is survived by her husband; children, Greg Bigham (Daniel), David Bigham, Joy O’Meara (Terry), and Linda Korell (Doug), all of St. Joseph; two brothers, John Rebensdorf (Delores), of Wayne, Nebraska, and Lee Davis (Nancy), of St. Joseph; sister, Sandra Maddinger (Raymond), of St. Joseph; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was the daughter of William and Helen (Snuffer) Evans of St. Joseph, Misssouri.

Helen was a graduate of Benton High School in St. Joseph. She received her Master’s degree in Phlebotomy from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She was employed at many of the area hospitals including Des Moines, St. Joseph, Kansas City area and Ray County. Ms. Evans was a member of the United Methodist Church. She will be remembered and loved by family and friends for her unique sense of humor and her love for cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Tim retired from Social Security Administration after 33 years of service. On February 12, 2006, Tim and Laurie Smith were united in marriage in St. Joseph, Missouri.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a sports fan, avid bowler and music lover.&nbsp;&nbsp;Tim enjoyed smoking meats and Barbecuing.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a loving husband and father.

Leota Frances (Pollard) Simpson, 92, Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022.

She was born to Henry “PeeWee” and Frances (Arnold) Pollard in Coffey, Missouri on September 24, 1929. She graduated from Pickett High School. She worked at The Dairyette, which her parents owned and operated. Leota married Glen Wayne Simpson on April 9, 1949. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2009 after almost 60 years of marriage.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical Church where she faithfully served Christ and she was able to visit the Holy Land with them. She was known for baking dozens of cookies and treats for the church. Leota enjoyed embroidery, ceramics, music and dancing, cake decorating and spending time with her beloved family. She always said, “the more the merrier,” and lovingly cooked for all that came to her home. She was also a regular donor to ASPCA.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two sisters, Beverly Sprague and Patsy Butcher.

Leota is survived by children, Rodney Welsch (Marilyn), Gregory Simpson, Thomas Simpson (Sharon) and Clint Simpson (Leatha); grandchildren Scott Welsch, Kristie Arthur, Chad Simpson, Jon Jeu, Vince Simpson, Marisa Mosely, Ben Welsch, Melanie Wages and Chris Simpson, Adam Kisler, Stephanie Thurman, Leah Holland and Lynsey Oberg; 25 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Leota Frances Simpson 1929 - 2022

Hilda Bell, 89, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

Hilda was born in Zuckmantel, Siebenburgen, a German colony located in the Transylvanian Alps of Romania, to Michael &amp; Regina (Haydl) Mueller.

During the 2nd World War, she and her family fled their homeland from the invading Russian army. They eventually settled in Austria.

Hilda studied nursing in Stuttgart, Germany, and after graduating worked as an RN in Glarus, Switzerland and briefly in Heidelburg, Germany, where she met her future husband, Francis L. Bell.

She and Frank were married in Zürich Switzerland on March 17, 1962. Later that year the couple traveled to the United States, where she gave birth to their only child, Elisabeth, in Covington Kentucky.

Hilda and her family lived for a short time in Kentucky, Ohio &amp; Alabama, and then for many years in Pennsylvania. In 1998, the couple moved to St Joseph, Missouri, following their daughter and her family.

Hilda was a member of Brookdale Presbyterian Church, and actively involved in the Childrens Ministry area, babysitting the wee ones. She loved babies! She was an avid gardener and a member of the St Joseph Herb Club serving in various offices of that organization over the years. She loved animals, especially dogs! She also loved sewing, painting, crafting and classical music. Within the last year, she learned to fish! She really enjoyed that too! Most of all she adored her 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter and loved spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Bell, Father and Mother Michael &amp; Regina Mueller, Brother Mike Jr., Sister Regina Dietrich, Brother-in-law Steve Dietrich, Sister-in-law Martha Bell Stukenborg, and Mother-in-law Grace Brewer Bell.

She is survived by her daughter Beth (Ron) Bachman, of St Joseph, Grandchildren John (Brianna) Bachman, Shawnee, KS; Jeff (Emily) Bachman, KC, MO; Brett Bachman, KC, MO; Gwen Bachman, Manhattan, KS; and Great Granddaughter, Marnie, Shawnee, KS

Visitation will be Monday, July 25th at Brookdale Presbyterian Church from 5-7pm

Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, July 26th at Brookdale at 10:30 am.

John Leroy Wood, 60, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

He was born October 24, 1961 in Sebastopol, California.

John married Dawn McReynold. She preceded him in death in 2017. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. John was manager of the Home Depot in St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and son, Timothy John Wood.

He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Elyse Ladesic (Kyle); grandchildren, Jonathan Weaver and Leann Ladesic; and sister, Iris Stuart (Cecelia Ariaz).

Steven Max Hall, 52, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on November 13, 1969 to Gorden and Carolyn (Henry) Hall. He married Kendra Haskey on April 4, 1997. She survives of the home.

He was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. Steven enjoyed fishing, golfing, seeing antique tractor and engine shows, watching the Chiefs and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Janae and Jordan Hall; sister, Cynthia Jonas (Everett); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Dan Moyer, 56, formerly of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022 in Tampa, Florida.

On October 4, 1965 he was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to David Joseph and Delores Patricia (Valencia) Moyer.

He married Dru Rai on April 14, 2019. She survives of the home. While living in St. Joseph, Dan served on the board of directors for Habitat for Humanity and the Open Door Food Kitchen, where he lead efforts to raise capital for their new location. He was also a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 5067. Dan was a member of Y-Fry Club and always enjoyed attending the reunions. Some will remember Dan from his time as the executive chef of the Benton Club or as the owner of La Crucita Mexican Restaurant on Mitchell Avenue. Dan enjoyed music, but food was his true passion in life. He had been passionate about feeding the homeless since his time in New York City, where he worked at the Waldorf Astoria.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David Moyer.

He is survived by his wife; nephew, David Joseph Moyer; and Dru’s grandchildren, Ariana, Carter and Atlas; extended family and many friends.

Mass of Christian Burial and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Dan Moyer 1965 - 2022

Delores Dean Daly Neidinger, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2022, in her apartment at Country Squire, starting and ending her life in St. Joseph.

Delores was born September 28, 1928, and grew up on a small farm in South End, graduating from Benton High School in 1946. After studying at St. Joseph Junior College (now Missouri Western), she became a bookkeeper, working at the News Press and Wire Rope companies.

Delores Dean Daly Neidinger, age 93, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2022, in her apartment at Country Squire, starting and ending her life in St. Joseph. Delores was born September 28, 1928, and grew up on a small farm in South End, graduating from Benton High School in 1946. After studying at St. Joseph Junior College (now Missouri Western), she became a bookkeeper, working at the News Press and Wire Rope companies. On July 12, 1953, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Delores married the love of her life, St. Joseph native, Charles R. Neidinger. She and Chuck moved to Topeka where they had two sons, Richard and Robert. The family moved to St. Louis in 1961 where Delores raised the boys and Chuck worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. When the boys were older, Delores returned to bookkeeping for Target. In 1975, the family moved to Hannibal where Delores enjoyed golfing regularly. After retirement in 1986, Delores and Chuck returned to St. Joseph where they attended St. Paul Lutheran Church. Delores was active in Welcome Wagon of St. Joseph, enjoying the mission and the card playing group! After Chuck died in 2010, Delores moved to Country Squire where she appreciated all the friends and caregivers over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Chuck; sister Eunice Mae Daly and brother Leslie Daly. Delores is survived by her sons Richard “Rich” and Robert “Bob”. Rich and Barb, of Davidson, North Carolina, have one child, Dana Neidmann (Mat). Bob and Cindy, of St. Joseph, have sons David (Sara) and Mikel (Heather). Delores has three great-grandchildren Clay, Hazel, and Mason, children of Mikel, also in St. Joseph.<figure>
