Connie S. King, 70, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021

She was born July 7, 1950 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Ralph and Margaret (Barragar) Upshaw.

Connie married Clarence Wayne King on February 17, 1968. He survives of the home.

She had worked as a beautician for more than 20 years. She went to nursing school at age 58 and then worked at Newmark Care Center in Kansas City.

Connie was an excellent cook and loved family gatherings. She was best known for her brown steak and gravy, fried chicken and sweet treats. She also loved vacationing at the beach.

She had attended Caring First and Grace Evangelical churches.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence; sons, Shawn (Jamie), Brad (Katie), and Chad (Shannon) King; grandchildren, Tori (Bethany Meng), Cadence, Reagan, Jake, Grant, Madison, Jackson, Abby, Maggie and Lorelei King; great-grandchild, Bella Meng; sister, Lisa Reece (Brian); mother-in-law, Jewel King; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Yvonne (Schenck) Stracke, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021.

She was born October 6, 1933 to Claude and Lettie (Willis) Schenck in Kansas City, Missouri.

Yvonne met her husband, Jerry Lynn Stracke, while attending the University of Kansas. On June 8, 1958 they were married. She was an ordained minister through the New Life Cathedral Church and sat on the boards of several ministries. Yvonne was a life-long member of the KU Alumni Association.

Yvonne enjoyed dressing stylishly, always including a hat. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, James Schenck; and aunt, Martha Hayes.

Survivors include her children, Leah (Caldwell) Neal (Brian) of St. Joseph, Missouri and David Stracke (Mary) of Kansas City, Kansas; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Highway.

Alvin "Al" Carl Hyder 91, of Shawnee Mission, Kansas, formerly of St. Joseph, MO., passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 in an Overland Park, KS hospital. 

He was born June 12, 1929 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Opal and Jacob Hyder. He graduated from Lafayette High School and the St. Joseph Junior College. He married Shirlee Keith on October 15, 1955 and they shared 65 years together. He served in the United States Army, then worked for the United States Post Office as a letter carrier retiring after 31 years of service, he then was a delivery driver for Flowers by Rob for 15 years. Al enjoyed watching sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs, and Royals Baseball, he also enjoyed Jazz and Big Band music. He was a member of the Church of Brethren. 

Al was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mike Hyder, and brothers, Marvin and Glenn Hyder. 

Survivors include, wife, Shirlee Hyder of the home, daughters, Carla (Danny) Ezzell of Merriam, KS, and daughter, Amy Hyder (Paul) of St. Joseph, MO, daughter in law, Linda Hyder, grandchildren: Scott (Amanda) Ezzell, Lindsey (Adam) Burris, Todd Hyder, step grandson, Ryan Oliphant, , great grandchildren, Adelyn, Nora, Jackson &amp; Maxwell.

Betty Jane Bryson 97, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021 in a Saint Joseph, MO health care center. 

She was born April 23, 1924 in Clarksdale, MO, daughter of the late Mary and Roy Adams. She worked at D&amp;G and Doty's as well as several other area restuarants. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty was an avid fan of the Chiefs, the Royals, and the St Jo Mustangs. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church of Helena, American Legion Aux. #359, VFW # 1668 Aux, and the Eagles Lodge #49.&nbsp; 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Harold Bryson, her parents, daughter, Joyce Sharp, brothers, Herman and James E. Adams, and sisters, Nora Farrell and Viola Leidy, grandsons, Ronald &amp; Donald Amos, and granddaughters, Linda Sue Amos &amp; Kim Springs. 

Survivors include: daughters, Julia Bryson, Mary Amos, and Agnes Joann Grieme, sons, Harold (Carol) Bryson, Edward (Barbara) Bryson, and Kenneth (Diana) Bryson, a brother, John C. Adams, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 27 great-great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-great grandchild.

Dylan Scott Allen Wiggington "Dyl Pickle, Dyl Sticker, Dilly Bird, The Voice, Wiggy" 26, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 in St.Joseph, MO. 

He was born December 16, 1994 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Stephenie and Craig Wiggington. He attended Benton High School, and he was working at National Beef. Dylan had two great loves of his life, Kansas City Chiefs and his children that were his world, He was always taking pictures of himself with the kids, we are blessed now to have those pictures. 

Dylan came into this world fighting for his life at Childrens Mercy. He embraced life and all the love offered to him. He never ended a phone call or text without saying "I Love You". We Love You Dylan. 

Survivors include: his parents, four children: Connor, Lucy, Abbygail, and Max Wiggington, two brothers: Mathew Lenzmeier, Springfield, MO, and Michael (Megan) Lenzmeier of St. Joseph, MO, nephews, Logan, Lucas, and Joseph Lenzmeier; Taylor Corcoran, mother of Connor &amp; Lucy; Selena Embrey, mother of Abbygail; and Katherine Hatfield, mother of Max.

Cody Dustin Grace 26, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Wednesday April 21, 2021 in Saint Joseph, the result of an auto accident that occurred on Friday April 9, 2021, with his family. 

He was born January 27, 1995 in Farmington, MO. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Braxtin Grace, daughter, Anastasia Grace, mother of his children, Amy Lynn Morse, and step daughter, Rosalie Morse. 

Survivors include his mother Tonya Grace, Selma, OR, father, Anthony Stevens, Iron Mountain, MO, and several brothers and sisters. 

He was a great father, and loved working on vehicles and doing little tinkering things around the house, which he enjoyed just as much as playing in the pool out in the backyard. He absolutely loved hanging out with his kids and going outdoors to show them how to explore and learn new things.

Cody was a very creative and bright energy person. He would take the worst of day and make it better&nbsp; for Amy and those kids and even when things got rough he still had a smile on his face. The family will receive friends from 1- 2:00 pm on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home, memorial services following Friday, April 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Rupp Funeral Home. David Mejia Officiating. Ruth Swartz 86, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on April 22, 2021. Ruth was born on November 12, 1934. 

Ruth was proceeded in death by husband James Swartz and sister Shirley Krull. 

She will be missed by her sister Carol Lee Cleland, daughter Sunny Tunell and son Steven Swartz and numerous relatives and friends. 

Ruth was an RN and spent most of her career as a school nurse for the St Joseph, MO school district. She was a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

&nbsp;Visitation will be at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel 3609 Frederick St Joseph, MO 64506from 6-8 Friday April 30th and the funeral will be at 10am Saturday May 1st, burial to follow Memorial Park Cemetery.

Lorraine Marie Bechtold, 98, of rural Hiawatha, surrounded with family, passed away peacefully April 22, 2021, at Hiawatha Community Hospital.

She was born September 29, 1922, at Everest, Kansas, the oldest child born to the late Albert Herman “Dutch” and Ethel Mary Freeland Rosenhoover and has lived in the northeast Kansas area her entire life.&nbsp; Lorraine grew up at Everest, attending Everest Grade School prior to graduating from Everest High School in May 1940.&nbsp; She later worked to obtain a degree in nursing in February 1944 from St. Joseph School of Nursing, St. Joseph, MO.&nbsp; She worked as a registered nurse many years several places:&nbsp; SBA Hospital in Topeka, KS, Horton Hospital, and a short period at Brown County Infirmary.

Mrs. Bechtold was a dedicated member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church of Horton prior to becoming a member of St. Anns Parish in Hiawatha.&nbsp; Lorraine was active in the Altar Society at Church, and had assisted in the money counting there for many years.&nbsp; She volunteered for NEK Home Health &amp; Hospice; loved to raise a flower &amp; vegetable garden; enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading.&nbsp; All this being said, her family was the #1 priority!

Lorraine married Jack Francis Bechtold, August 28, 1944, at Everest.&nbsp; They farmed and raised livestock for several years near Horton until moving to Hiawatha in 1975 to enjoy their retirement years.&nbsp; He died July 1998.

Survivors include her children:&nbsp; Susan Gilkison of Wichita, Mary Bechtold of Topeka, Galen Bechtold (Luci) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Bruce Bechtold (Judy) of Horton, Jay Bechtold, also of Horton, Jane Walsh (Casey) of Denton; a sister Beverly Fuhrman of Castorville, TX, 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.&nbsp; Good friends to Lorraine include George and Sharon Wilhelm, Helen &amp; Toby Melster, and Eldana Nichols.

She was also preceded in death by a sister Rita Henning, brother in law Carl Henning, brothers: Charles Rosenhoover, sister in law Betty Rosenhoover, Ralph Rosenhoover, grandson Gary Wayne Schaefer, grand-daughter Kelsey Jean Bechtold, son in law Richard Gilkison, daughter in law Kim Bechtold, and brother in law Robert “Bob” Fuhrman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 27, at St. Anns Catholic Church in Hiawatha.&nbsp; Father Dan Gardner will be the celebrant.&nbsp; Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hiawatha.

Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha after 10 a.m. Monday where the parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. that evening follow by visitation until 8.

Saundra J. Moutray, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away April 22, 2021, at her home surrounded by family.

She worked for Lafayette High School, and the Belt Bowl for over 25 years.&nbsp; Her hobbies included bowling, going on summer trips with her sister, drinking Busch Beer on her deck, collecting owls and spending time with her great grandchildren.

Saundra was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and brother.

Survivors include her daughter Charisse, son Darren, 2 grandchildren Randy and Kelsee, 3 great grandchildren Azealynn, Conner and Knox, sister Wanda Lee,&nbsp; and several nieces and nephews.

Ernest Wesley Hawkins, IV, 59, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, April 23, 2021.

He was born January 2, 1962 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Ernest and Sandra (Broussard) Hawkins, II.

Ernest married Jaime Maag October 1, 2016. She survives of the home. He was a 1981 graduate of Benton High School. Ernest worked for Mosaic Life Care for 34 years where he received the MVP, Law of Heart and Beacon awards. He was also the owner/operator of Hawkeyes BBQ, President of Eazin’ Thunder Motorcycle Club, St. Joseph Chapter. He was a participant in the 2017 Dancing with the St. Joe Stars, and also sang with the Gospel Tones of Harmony, 2nd Generation.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, smoking meat, traveling, watching his Kansas City Chiefs play, and had a love for horses and airplanes. The most important thing to Ernest was his family and spending time with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri November 11, 1960 to Richard and Donna (Johnson) Ellis.

Gregory married Pat Reeves May of 1997. She preceded him in death July of 2019.

He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, fishing, motorcycles, and collecting Native American arts. Gregory loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilfred and Ethel Ellis, Earl and Marie Johnson, John and Pearl Poe; niece, Jensen Ellis.

Survivors include children, Sariena Ellis, Laura Williams, Brian Smoot (Kristie); grandchildren, Faith, John, Charlie, Jarrid; parents, Richard and Donna Ellis; siblings, Jeffrey R. Kateryna "Kathy" H. Hasiak also known as "Kjo" 61, of Saint Joseph, MO passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 in Saint Joseph, MO. 

She was born May 4, 1959 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Eva and Semen Hasiak. She graduated from Benton High School, and achieved an&nbsp;associates degree from Missouri Western State University. She worked at American Family Insurance for several years. Kathy was very active with the St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church, organizing festivals and annual events. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and church friends. 

She was preceded in death by parents, brother Petro Hasiak, and a sister, Oksana Lovelady. 

Survivors include brother, Taras "Ted" (Lynn) Hasiak of Saint Joseph, MO, sisters, Maria "Mary" (Ronald) Morton of Stockbridge, GA, Lesia Shtohryn and Irene Hasiak both of Saint Joseph, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.

Larry R. Gilbert 74, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 in a Saint Joseph, MO hospital. 

He was born September 9, 1946 in Paris, TX, son of the late Evelyn and Lloyd Gilbert. He graduated from Turner High School, Carrollton, TX, and he worked at Siemans Mattress Factory, the School District in Carrollton, TX, and he was a Security Guard at the Millwood Golf Course in Ashdown, Ark. He was a lifelong wrestling fan, and an avid Chiefs fan, and he also enjoyed word search. He was a member of Faith United Baptist Church. 

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, step dad, Clevis Wright, and a sister, Patsy Bowman. 

He married Shirley Burden on September 1, 2000, and she survives of the home, additional survivors include: sons, Randy Gilbert, Palestine, TX, Jeff Gilbert, Atlanta, TX, step son, Rodney Burden, Denton, TX, sister, Beverly Polley, Currant, TX, 1 grandson, 9 granddaughters, 7 great grandsons, 5 great granddaughters, brother in law &amp; sister in law, Garry &amp; Rose Marsh, St. Joseph, MO, and brother in Law, Gary Chambers of CA.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be conducted on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm at the Vaughn Memorial Cemetery, Gilmore, Oklahoma.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He graduated from Turner High School, Carrollton, TX, and he worked at Siemans Mattress Factory, the School District in Carrollton, TX, and he was a Security Guard at the Millwood Golf Course in Ashdown, Ark. He was a lifelong wrestling fan, and an avid Chiefs fan, and he also enjoyed word search. He was a member of Faith United Baptist Church. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, step dad, Clevis Wright, and a sister, Patsy Bowman. He married Shirley Burden on September 1, 2000, and she survives of the home, additional survivors include: sons, Randy Gilbert, Palestine, TX, Jeff Gilbert, Atlanta, TX, step son, Rodney Burden, Denton, TX, sister, Beverly Polley, Currant, TX, 1 grandson, 9 granddaughters, 7 great grandsons, 5 great granddaughters, brother in law &amp; sister in law, Garry &amp; Rose Marsh, St. Joseph, MO, and brother in Law, Gary Chambers of CA. Ralph "Bud" Sandlin Jr. 85, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021 in a Gower, MO health care center. 

He was born November 29, 1935 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Alice and Ralph Sandlin Sr. He graduated from Benton High School, and married Betty Barbee on August 25, 1956, and she survives of the home. He served in the Missouri Air National Guard for four years. Ralph retired from Union Pacific Railroad as Yard Master after 37 years of service. He enjoyed farming. and he was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. 

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John Sandlin, sisters, Charlotte Sandlin and Mary Holtsclaw, grandsons, Aaron Sandlin, Jacob Sandlin, and Seth Sandlin.

Paul D. Ingram, 46, of Hiawatha, died at his home, April 22, 2021

Paul was born December 20, 1973, at University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS, one of three children of Larry and Kay Williams Ingram.&nbsp; He spent nearly all of his life in Hiawatha, where he attended Hiawatha schools with the class of 1992.

Paul worked as a cook most of his life for several Hiawatha restaurants.&nbsp; He most recently worked for Fairview Mills, Hiawatha.&nbsp; Paul had a love of music especially concerts.&nbsp; To say that he was an avid fan, of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, was an understatement!!

Survivors include his mother Kay (Ingram) Schmille (Claude) of Hiawatha, son Nathan of Lenexa, KS, sister Brook Pace of St. Joseph, MO and a brother Philip Ingram (Holly) of Wichita, KS.

The family will greet friends at a come and go gathering, at the Calvary Temple Fellowship Hall, 800 South First in Hiawatha from 11 until 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021.&nbsp; Inurnment will be private at a later date.

Judith Ann “Judy” Carroll, 80, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021.

She was born May 6, 1940 in Maryville, Missouri to Donald C. and Eva L. (Spargur) Egbert. She grew up in Burlington Junction, Missouri. Judy married Duane Carroll. He preceded her in death.

She worked at Whitaker Cable, then Quaker Oats, where she retired after more than 20 years of service.

Judy enjoyed quilting and found joy in teaching anyone who wanted to learn how to quilt. She also was a dog lover and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Donna Jean Hann.

Survivors include sons, Jeff Domino and Mike Domino (Kristine); and her beloved dog, Mr. Brodie.

He was born July 5, 1949 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Posie and Dolice Nolen.

He worked in sales most of his life and later owned and operated Nolen Publications.

Harvey enjoyed golfing with friends and loved football. His motto was “enjoy life,” and he liked to make people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Harvey Lee Nolen, Jr.; brothers, J.D. Taylor and Leroy Nolen; sisters, Beatrice Spann and Rosie Yandell.

She was born April 27, 1952 in St. Joseph, daughter of Sylvia and Louie Miller. Ava attended Benton High School. She married Johnny Matthews on October 12, 1969. She worked at Terrible's Casino. Ava loved bowling, she was the Princess Bowling Tournament Champion. She also enjoyed playing softball, cooking, watching cooking shows, playing cards and shopping. She was always was there for her family. 

Ava was preceded in death by husband, Johnny Ray Matthews in 2020 and her parents. 

Survivors include children, Garrett (Tammy) Matthews, Sheila Matthews, Shirley Matthews, all of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Heather Pritchett, Sean (Ashley) Pritchett, Kami (Zack) Matthews-Morgan, Olivia Matthews, Grayson Matthews and Johnny Pete Sauter, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

At home, and surrounded by loved ones, Loretta Joyce (Bradley) Brooks finished&nbsp; her race and was welcomed home by her Savior Jesus on April 22, 2021.

Loretta was born to Roy and Elsie Bradley on November 1, 1933 in St. Joseph, MO.&nbsp; She attended Central High School.

Loretta was employed as a medical receptionist/supervisor at the Thompson Clinic and Family Guidance Center.&nbsp; But her favorite job, and happiest time of her life, was raising her children.&nbsp; Every kid on the block wanted to be Loretta's kid.

Loretta was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Little League World Series.&nbsp; She was a patio gardener working magic with her mandevillas.&nbsp; She was a voracious reader.&nbsp; Loretta enjoyed playing games with her children and grandchildren.&nbsp; Everyone knew when Grandma had the "Old Maid" because her dimples would start to crinkle, and a smile would spread across her face.

Joy and laughter followed her wherever she went.

Loretta was known for her fried potatoes and she generously shared meals with her neighbors.&nbsp; She was never without a bowl full of candy sitting on her table for anyone to grab a piece or two.

But for all this, Loretta was best known for her compassionate, kind, merciful loving heart that looked out for the "least of these".&nbsp; (Matthew 25:35-40).

Loretta was preceded in death by her son, David Brooks, her daughter Vivian Brooks, her parents, Roy and Elsie Bradley, her stepmother Vivian Bradley, her brother Robert (Bob) Bradley, and her former husband Roger B. Brooks.

She is survived by sons Roger (Susan)Brooks, St. Joseph, MO and Kenny (Tammy) Brooks, St. Joseph, MO, daughters Cathy (Everett) Lewis, Lake Jackson, TX and Diane (Randy) Dudik, St. Joseph, MO, brothers Don (Juana) Bradley, St. Joseph, MO and Richard (Diane) Bradley, Neola, IA, sister Jenny Stewart, St. Joseph, MO.

Loretta is also survived by grandsons Craig (Mindy) Lewis, Kyle (Jamie) Lewis, R.L. Brooks, Micah (Natalie) Brooks, Kris Monroe, granddaughter Dana Foster, and great granddaughters, Camryn Lewis, Cambria Lewis, Scarlett Lewis, Vivian Lewis, Maddie Foster, and Becca Foster. Loretta says goodbye to nieces and nephews who are dear to her heart.

Loretta was a woman of joy, a woman of hope, a woman of acceptance, a woman of faith.

Memorials may be made in Loretta's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Dean Green, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Missouri Veteran's Home in Cameron.

Dean served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Campaign.

He was a Missouri State Highway Patrolman and was at stationed at Troop H in St. Joseph. He retired a Sergeant after 30 years of service.

He was a member of; Missouri State Troopers Association, Elks Club, American Legion Post 359, Saxon Lodge #508, Scottish Rite, Moila Shrine Temple, Aloha Shrine In Hawaii and a Honorary Member of the Ararat Shrine in Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Elmer and Grace Green.

Mr. Green is survived by his daughters; Sherre (Pat) Clark, and Tangee Doherty, granddaughters; Britni Mileham, Madi Clark, Jordyn Doherty and Camarae Heins. Brother; Ronald (Dyann) Green, his former wife; Winona Green and several great-grandchildren and two nieces.

Per Dean's wishes, he has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel. No visitation or services will be held. &nbsp;

His wishes were that memorial contributions be made to the Moila Shrine Temple Transportation Fund.

Dean Green  1927 - 2021

Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Helen Rhyner, our beloved mother, passed away at the age of 83. 

Her life centered around her steadfast Catholic faith and the deep love she had for her family. Helen was a long-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and attended daily mass for years. She was born in St. Joseph to Carl and Carmella Montegna, the eldest of four siblings. She grew up in a loving Italian-American home where she lived with her parents and grandparents. Helen attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart High School and then worked at the Park Bank in St. Joseph before marrying Warren Rhyner in February of 1960. She was very active in the community serving on the St. Francis Parish Council, Our Lady of Guadalupe Service Committee, Noyes Home For Children Board, participated weekly at The Mir House of Prayer and was a member of the Dow “Joans” Investment Club. All the while raising five kids and managing to squeeze in a few sets of tennis, a game she loved dearly. Helen was an avid cook and was always trying new recipes. She was at her best and happiest when cooking a family holiday or birthday meal. After raising her children, she entered the workforce by purchasing and managing The Le Femme Beauty Salon. She enjoyed chatting with all the customers and especially cherished making countless dozens of Christmas cookies every year to share during the Christmas season. Once retired, she spent her time visiting with family, friends and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Warren Rhyner, and is survived by her children, Randy Rhyner (Karen), Rick Rhyner (Susan), Rob Rhyner (Marta), Rene’ Malden (Eric) and Ryan Rhyner (Julie); grandchildren, Rachel Rhyner, Madison Rhyner, Margot Rhyner, Mitch Rhyner, Jack Rhyner, Max Malden, Mia Malden, Jordan Rhyner and Reese Rhyner; and three brothers, Paul, Carl and John Montegna. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Helen Rhyner, our beloved mother, passed away at the age of 83. Her life centered around her steadfast Catholic faith and the deep love she had for her family. Helen was a long-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and attended daily mass for years. She was born in St. Joseph to Carl and Carmella Montegna, the eldest of four siblings. She grew up in a loving Italian-American home where she lived with her parents and grandparents. Helen A. Rhyner  1937 - 2021

Lori A. Harris, 58, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her home. 

She was born April 30, 1962 in St. Joseph, daughter of Harold and Mary Lou Dowell. She attended Lafayette High School. She worked at area Saxton Care facilities. Lori's hobbies included going to the casino and she loved her cats. 

Lori was preceded in death by brother, Kevin Dowell. 

Survivors include, her companion of 30 years, Earl "Spider" Pulliam of the home, daughter, Crystal (Joshua) Shaifer of St Joseph, sons, Michael Dowell of Columbia, MO and Trevor Harris of St. Joseph, sister, Kathy (Terry) Williams of St Joseph, brothers, Jeffery (Kim) Dowell of St. Joseph and Curtis (Amy) Dowell, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Ms. Harris has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. No services are scheduled at this time.
