Sharon Ann (Worrel) Staudenmaier, 85, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at her home in rural Troy, Kansas after a long and valiant battle with Lupus.

She was born on July 31, 1937, in Atchison, Kansas to Euie and Ruth Anna (Tate) Worrel. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1955.

On April 3, 1956, she married the love of her life, Joseph Staudenmaier at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atchison. Sharon loved being a homemaker, mother, and grandma. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family across the United States. She took great pride in hosting family dinners for large and small crowds. She loved to cook and was well known for her Dixie Biscuits and desserts.

She was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church, Troy for 67 years. She was involved in the Happy Time Homemakers where she volunteered and made many life-long friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Joseph Staudenmaier, her parents, stepfather (Robert Derr), and daughter-in-law, Therese Staudenmaier.

She is survived by her son, Daniel Staudenmaier of Wathena, KS, and 3 daughters, Elaine (Tom) Halladay of Cedarburg, WI, Shelly (Gregg) Wilson of The Woodlands, TX and Laura (Walter) Koons of Manson, IA. Sharon is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Heidi Staudenmaier; Chandler, Austin (Amanda) and Jairus (Anne) Halladay; Nathan (Ali) and Christopher (Lauren) Wilson, Hilary (Patrick) Gorman, Rachel (Sean) Nicholson; Andrew (Wendy) Mills, Kathy Gallegos, and Jacob Koons. She adored her great grandchildren, Archie Halladay; Luka Gallegos-Snell; Luke, Madeleine, Kolbe and Blaise Gorman, Nora Wilson, John, and Harper Nicholson, and was excited for the upcoming birth of Jett Wilson. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Rygaard, sister-in-law, Thelma Hewins and many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.

He was born on July 23, 1973 to Larry and Phyllis Cole in St. Joseph, Missouri. Scott married Leasa Etter on December 22, 2006.

Scott was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Wind Therapy bike group. He enjoyed riding, speed skating, RC cars with his nephew Nick and son Seth, and deer hunting with his father and son.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucille and Elbert Godsey, Leamer Cole, and Flossy Kelso; grandchildren, Liam, Axel and Isaac Cole; Mother-in-Law, Dixie Cooper; and brother from another mother, Chris Root.

Art was born in East Liverpool, Ohio on July 18, 1943, to Earnest and Mildred McKinley. He married Gloria Lee on July 18, 1977. They shared 43 years of marriage until Gloria’s passing in 2022. To this union were two sons Richard and Ernest. Art served in the United States Air Force from 1964-1984.

Ashley passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022 in her home. Her transition was guided by Mosaic Life Care Hospice.

Ashley was born February 2, 1985, daughter of Sandra and Mark K. Crabill and John M. Duncan.

Ashley loved horses and being with friends and family. Everyone that met her fell in love with her bright eyes and beautiful smile. Her spunky and sometimes stubborn attitude made it a joy just to be around her. Ashley attended United Cerebral Palsy preschool and then attended Helen Davis State School, where she was prom queen and graduated in 2006.

Preceded in death by her grandmother, Dianne Long; and grandfather, Johnnie Duncan.

Survived by her parents, Sandra and Mark K. Crabill; sisters, Melissa Bratton (Scott) and Michelle Toelle (Tony); nieces, Keely Peterson, Kylee Peterson (Charlie), and Olivia Bratton; numerous aunts and uncles.

David enjoyed everything outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting and helped out on his family’s farm. He was also an advocate for organ donation after his daughter received a liver transplant.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary June Fickle, Dewey Fickle and Carolyn Flores.

He is survived by his parents; siblings Ronnie Jr. of St. Joseph, Renessa and Josh Grider of Junction City, and Colton Davis of St. Joseph; children Sophia, Aiden, Sandra, Ayda, Ashur Davis and Selene Rogers of St. Joseph; Tayla Jones; Hailee Wilson; grandpa, Joseph J. Dorothy graduated from Benton High School in 1948. She started working for Armor &amp; Company in August of 1951 in the employment/insurance office for 32 years. The last 20 years, she was a secretary in the manager’s office. She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by longtime friend, Clara Lile; second cousin Sandra Johnson of Lehigh, Iowa.

It is with great sadness that the family shares Ronald “Ron” Edwin Gove, 87 of St. Joseph, MO, passed away on July 30, 2022.

Ron was born on August 19, 1934, to Harold and Jessie Gove in Mountain Lake, MN. After graduating from Mountain Lake High School, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon completing his service, he attended Mankato State College where he met his wife, Audrey.

Ron and Audrey (Baumann) were wed on August 15, 1960, in Le Sueur, MN. They were blessed to enjoy 61 years of marriage together. They made their home in New Ulm, MN, Bloomington, MN, Springfield, MO, and St. Joseph, MO. Audrey survives of the home. 

He is also survived by three children and 7 grandchildren. Ricky (wife Cindy, children Phillip, Darren, Cory of St. Joseph, MO), Randy (wife Tasha, children Jasper, Ting, of Taipei, Taiwan), and Amy Ellington (husband Jeffrey, children Erin, Connor of Kansas City, MO). Ron had three siblings Stanley Gove of MN (deceased), Allan Gove of CA, and Sharon Bednar of MN.

Ron enjoyed a long career of 53 years as a Shaklee Distributor. Ron played baseball in high school and pitched fastpitch softball for over 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, attending sporting events, and watching his Minnesota Vikings and Twins. He was a member of Silver &amp; Gold Club of Northwest Missouri. Ron never met a stranger and always had a joke for everyone. He was a lifelong Methodist, attending Wesley United Methodist in St. Joseph, MO and Kings Way United Methodist in Springfield, MO.

n April 24, 1950 she was born in Cambodia to Phan Ngoc Chau and Nguyen Thi Hao.

Khuong enjoyed reading, taking walks and spending time at the beach. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Thao Le; son, Nghia Tran; eight grandchildren, with one on the way; one brother; one sister; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Harold Caldwell, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

He was born November 14, 1934 in St. Joseph to Roy and Alta (Munns) Caldwell. He graduated from Benton High School.

Harold proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and later in the U.S. Air Force.

He married Betty Jean Belcher on November 7, 1958. She survives of the home.

He worked at Hillyard Industries for 33 years before retiring. Harold was an animal lover who also never knew a stranger. His family was most important to him and he would do anything for them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Jimmie and Gary Culbertson; four sisters; and one brother.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty; daughters, Annette Phillips (Kevin), Cheryl Still (Ted), Tammy Frappier (Kevin), and Cynthia Jennings (Monte); 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; other extended family members and friends.

Dallas P. Pickett, 96, of Stewartsville, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 27,&nbsp;2022 in St. Joseph, Mo.

Funeral Service will be held at the Turner Family Funeral Home in Stewartsville, Mo. on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 2 p.m., with Reverend Jerry Burks officiating.

Christian burial will follow at the Saint Joseph Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Dallas was born on the family farm in rural Dekalb County to Rolla and Sue Mary (Kennedy) Pickett on August 26, 1925.&nbsp;

He graduated from Stewartsville High School in 1943 and went on to earn a degree in Agriculture from The University of Missouri.

Dallas worked as a farmer for most of his life.

He was an avid Mizzou Football Fan, and thoroughly enjoyed watching sports on T.V.

He absolutely loved bird watching and flower gardening. Dallas’s first love though was his beloved bride of 69 years, Chris, whom he doted over tirelessly. He loved all his family immensely, especially his children and grandchildren.

Dallas was a member of the Presbyterian-Christian Church in Stewartsville, where he attended for many years.

He is survived by his daughter Lesa Summers, daughter in law Vicki Pickett, grandchildren, Lauren (Deric) Berry, Casey (Preston) Taylor, Zoe Summers, and Max Summers, great grandchildren, Isla, Poppy, and Graham, numerous other relatives, and a multitude of friends.

Robert A. Franken, 90, of Troy passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

He was born August 23, 1931, in Fanning to William A. and Harriett Guthrie Franken.

He attended school in Troy and Highland and graduated from high school in Hollandale, Mississippi in 1949. After military service in the Korean War, Bob farmed in Fanning before becoming the Postmaster at the Troy Post Office. He retired from the post office in 1988. Bob was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Troy and the Knights of Columbus at that parish.

He married JoAnn C. Hess on June 6, 1953, in Atchison. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Vickie Franken of Topeka, and Barb (Tim) Collins of Highland, six sons, Bill (Janet) Franken of Wathena, Steve (Lori) Franken of Topeka, Mike (Becky) Franken of Topeka, Paul (Karen) Franken of Garfield, Arkansas, Bob Franken of Troy, and Brian (Sue) Franken of Wathena, 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, a sister, Joan Fuhrman of Highland and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Andrew, John, and William, and one sister, Kathleen Sudduth.

Butch enjoyed spending time with his family, cars, drag racing, softball, bowling horseshoes, his Ram truck, and traveling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tammy Sue; brothers, William (Ester) Goldizen and Bob (Phyllis) Goldizen; sisters, Betty (Robert) Jacobs, Sue (Charlie) Jones, Evelyn (Dean) Larrison, Joan (Standley) McKnight, Billie Jean Goldizen, and Rosemary (David) Bonham.

Daniel J. Gross, II “Danny”, 43, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday at his home, July 25, 2022.

He was born December 23, 1978 in St. Joseph to Daniel J. and Dorothy (Nolan) Gross.

Danny married Rachel Justice on May 11, 2002. They later divorced. He worked at A-1 Tree Service and Gross Disposal. Danny enjoyed fast cars and fast bikes, playing pool at Chalk &amp; Cue, historical movies and “The Walking Dead.” He loved his grandkids, giving them balloons every time they came over.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Gross, I; sister, Shauna Clark; and grandparents, Vie and Dave Welter, and Daniel and Joyce Nolan.

Daniel J. Gross, II “Danny”, 43, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday at his home, July 25, 2022. He was born December 23, 1978 in St. Joseph to Daniel J. and Dorothy (Nolan) Gross. Danny married Rachel Justice on May 11, 2002. They later divorced. He worked at A-1 Tree Service and Gross Disposal. Danny enjoyed fast cars and fast bikes, playing pool at Chalk &amp; Cue, historical movies and “The Walking Dead.” He loved his grandkids, giving them balloons every time they came over. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Gross, I; sister, Shauna Clark; and grandparents, Vie and Dave Welter, and Daniel and Joyce Nolan. Charlene Ann Leslie, 70, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022.

She was born on July 15, 1952 to Johnny and Ellen (Streck) Sherrill in St. Joseph, Missouri. On March 30, 1974, Charlene married Lloyd Allen Leslie. In their almost 40 years of marriage, they lovingly raised a family. Lloyd preceded Charlene in death on February 15, 2014.

Charlene worked at Mead and American Family for many years. Along with her work, she enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, and watching Jeopardy every day.

She was preceded in death by her husband; mother; son, Daniel Leslie; brother, Terry and grandmother, Caroline Streck.

She is survived by her children Dana McDaniel (Keith) and Stacy Stockton (Shane); grandchildren, Cody Leslie (Marissa), Alexia McDaniel, Sami Moffat (Kevin), Shanda Durbin (Erik), Kenzie Leslie and Klhoe Leslie; great grandchildren, Atley, Brittyn, Bently and Kolsyn; brother Steve Sherrill (Barb); numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jacqueline Joy Bigham, 84, St. Joseph, went to be with her Father on July 24, 2022.

Jackie was born April 15, 1938 in Pender, Nebraska to Vernon and Eleanor (Brummond) Rebensdorf. She graduated from Pender High School. After moving to St. Joseph, she attended Platte Business School and then worked for St. Joseph Light &amp; Power Co.

In 1960, she married Morton Lee Bigham, who survives of the home. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she served on the Altar Guild. She was a volunteer at Hall Elementary School while her children attended there. Jackie enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and taking long car rides with Mort. She also bowled at the Belt Bowl, where she was Castoff League secretary for 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Teddy C. Rebensdorf.

She is survived by her husband; children, Greg Bigham (Daniel), David Bigham, Joy O’Meara (Terry), and Linda Korell (Doug), all of St. Joseph; two brothers, John Rebensdorf (Delores), of Wayne, Nebraska, and Lee Davis (Nancy), of St. Joseph; sister, Sandra Maddinger (Raymond), of St. Joseph; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was the daughter of William and Helen (Snuffer) Evans of St. Joseph, Misssouri.

Helen was a graduate of Benton High School in St. Joseph. She received her Master’s degree in Phlebotomy from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She was employed at many of the area hospitals including Des Moines, St. Joseph, Kansas City area and Ray County. Ms. Evans was a member of the United Methodist Church. She will be remembered and loved by family and friends for her unique sense of humor and her love for cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Tim retired from Social Security Administration after 33 years of service. On February 12, 2006, Tim and Laurie Smith were united in marriage in St. Joseph, Missouri.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a sports fan, avid bowler and music lover.&nbsp;&nbsp;Tim enjoyed smoking meats and Barbecuing.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a loving husband and father.

Survivors include his wife Laurie Hawkins of Cameron; Two Children, Nelson (Jeff) Acuff, St. Joseph and Sarah Acuff, St. Joseph; family friend, Katie; and his dog Stella.
