Marjorie Ann (Buttron) Smith, (81), of Atchison, KS passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, Sept. 2nd, 2022, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Insung Kim officiating. Marjorie attended elementary school in Lancaster, and high school at Atchison County Community High School in Effingham, KS. She kept busy by helping on the family farm, participating in many 4-H events, mastering the piano, and learning to sew. She graduated with the class of 1959 and continued her education at Emporia State College where she received a bachelor’s degree in Education in 1962. She received her master’s degree in education from Kansas State University in 1984. At Emporia, she was a member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and the Kappa Delta Pi honor sorority for educators. Later she joined the Delta Kappa Gamma teachers’ sorority. On September 9, 1961, in Emporia, KS she married her high school sweetheart, Larry Smith, of Whiting, KS and moved to Lyndon, KS to teach. After a few years, she and Larry moved to Cottonwood Falls, then to Emporia, and from there to Atchison in 1965. Marjorie began her career teaching home economics at Lyndon High School, before moving to Atchison. She taught at the Mount Saint Scholastica girl’s school and the Atchison Junior High/Middle School. Both she and Larry retired from teaching in 1999 after teaching for over 30 years. During retirement, they stayed busy playing golf at Bellevue Country Club, sewing for family and friends, quilting, and watching their grandchildren participate in many sporting events in Marysville, KS. Marjorie substitute taught a short while in Atchison, but never stopped sewing. She was a member of the Atchison United Methodist Church and volunteered many countless hours in all areas of need. She also played bridge with friends and studied the stock market with her investment club, AWOGS. She loved gardening and cooking, but nothing could replace sewing as her favorite hobby. After Larry was diagnosed with ALS, she never left his side for 5 years and faithfully cared for him. Shortly after losing Larry in 2017, Marjorie moved to Marysville, KS to be closer to family. She was a resident of Country Place Senior Living and enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, her in-laws, Ivan and Laura Smith, and sister-in-law, Nadine Smith. She is survived by her brother, Jim Buttron (Shelley Pruett), of Lancaster, her brother-in-law, Daryl Smith of Whiting, her daughters Lynnette (Scott) Kracht, of Marysville, KS, Lori (Rick) Bobki, of Spring Hill, KS, and her son, Scott (Susan) Smith of Costa Rico. Stephen Paul Brown, 76, lifelong resident of Atchison, KS peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at the Atchison Senior Village. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. Several articles were written for the newspaper to recognize his love of Atchison and its residents. He had many interests including favorite programs and movies, listening to the local news on the radio, phoning all his friends and relatives, following the city action on his scanner, family get-togethers, church events, bowling with Special Olympics, as well as having various opportunities to travel with relatives and the Downing family. He will forever be remembered as someone who never met a stranger. His favorite thing was to visit with anyone and everyone with sincere interest and concern. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, Harry A. and Jennie F. (Baker) Brown, his eldest brother, Jerry A. Brown, and our dear family friend, Naomi V. Downing. He is survived by his brother and sister, Donald Judson Brown, of Atchison and Kathleen Brown Davis of St. Louis, MO. Nephew and nieces include Jay Benedict Brown of CO, Judson Matthew Brown of Topeka, KS, Delana Brown (Richard) Burris of Ladson SC, and Megan Davis Schlottog (Tighe) of Phoenix, AZ and 9 great nieces and nephews. Imogene “Jean” Hudson, 98, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022.

She was born August 21, 1924 in Clarksville, Arkansas, to George and Velma (Brasel) James. Jean grew up in Jasper, Arkansas, before moving to St. Joseph in 1946. During World War II, she was a “Rosie the Riveter” in California.

Imogene married James C. Hudson on June 29, 1946. He preceded her in death on December 16, 2013. She worked at the Seitz Packing Plant for over 30 years before retiring. She and Jim loved to travel and visited most of the 50 states. They also enjoyed anything outdoors.

Jean loved her grandchildren dearly and they were a huge part of her life. She followed all their sports as well as her beloved St. Louis Cardinals. She was a longtime member of Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church. Most of all, Jean was a kind, giving person who always thought of others first. She was truly the glue of the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Jim; parents; five brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include children, James C. Hudson, Jr. (Terri), Lynn Jackson (Terry), Donald Hudson (Diane), and Debbie Verbeck (Bob); 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sue Morris, Gerald James (Betty), and Jess James; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

All the angels in heaven were waiting to greet her when Verena (Young) Mitchell passed peacefully in her home at Vintage Gardens (St. Joseph, MO) on, Sunday, August 28, 2022.

Verena was born October 11, 1940 to Audrey and Clyde Young in Pueblo, CO. “Vee” grew up adoring her older brother Clyde Jr, (C.B). They remained close their entire lives until CB passed in 2013. Vee graduated Centennial HS, Pueblo, CO, in 1958 where she was a Cheerleader, captain of the women’s ROTC, a member of national honor society, a princess on the Homecoming court and the Snowball Winter Homecoming Queen. She attended Colorado State University where she was a cheerleader and a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Vee would also proudly say that she spent the summer of 1959 attending the University of Hawaii in Honolulu where she took ukulele and golf classes.

Her adventure in Hawaii inspired a life-long love of travel and after earning an associates degree, she left CSU to become a ‘stewardess.’ It was while at Continental Airlines that she met William James Mitchell (Bill), whom she wed in 1968. In 1970, they bought a guest ranch called, ‘Rancho de la Osa’, near Tucson, AZ. It was there that their only child, Andrea Verena, was born. They returned to Colorado in 1974 where they lived in Pueblo and then Colorado Springs. Vee returned to school and earned the credentials to rise from a secretary to a Colorado State Tax Auditor supervisor when she retired in 2001. Vee loved to travel and was was lucky enough to travel extensively and frequently to places like: Japan, Hawaii, Europe, Mexico and the Caribbean. Besides traveling, Vee enjoyed many infamous Colorado camping trips with dear family friends, The Immels. Another favorite family tradition was attending the United States Air Force Academy Football games. Vee was a proud, patriotic American, who kept a copy of the constitution by her bedside.

In 2001, Vee moved to St. Joseph to be closer to her daughter, Andrea, son-in -law James and grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann and James ‘Mitchell’. She was definitely the fun Grammy who let them do everything mom wouldn’t! There was nothing that made her more proud than Liz and Mitch and she would tell anyone who would listen all about them! While in St. Joseph, Vee was a member of PEO, Chapter FL; Soroptimists; and Ashland United Methodist Church.

Vee’s final years were spent at "Vintage Gardens" where she loved living near her dearest friend, Betty Waller. The family would like to thank the Vintage Gardens Staff for always treating Vee like she was family! There could not have been a better place for her to have called home and the loving care she received will always be deeply appreciated by the family! The family also thanks "Three Rivers Hospice" and "Care Just for You."

Additionally, Vee is survived by her extended family in Kansas City, especially her cousins Audrey Jo Ann Lavely, Lisa Lavely Metcalf and Andrea Metcalf. Verena is preceded in death by her parents, Audrey and Clyde Young; her brother CB and beloved sister-in-law, Sandra Young.

Verena (Young) Mitchell 1940 - 2022

Garold William Fuston, 89, of St. Joseph, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2022.

He was born March 10, 1933 in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Clayton and Violet (Bettis) Fuston.

He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Carson, Colorado. He then worked and retired from Rainbo Bread Company after 37 years. Garold married Doris Aughinbaugh on August 31, 1958. They had 64 loving years of marriage. He was a member of Ashland United Methodist Church, coached Little League Baseball, and loved camping with family and friends at Roaring River State Park. He also enjoyed having coffee in the morning at Roger’s and Hy-Vee.

Garold was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Garold William Fuston, Jr.; sisters, Margaret Cobb, Phyllis Kramer, and Charlotte Lemar; and great-granddaughter, Lynlee Marrs.

He is survived by his wife, Doris; daughter, Annette (Lance) Marrs; son, Dennis Fuston; brother, Ronald (Judy) Fuston; grandchildren, Anne (Sean) McKisson, Landon (Rachel) Marrs, Brittany Fuston, and Allison Fuston; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Rebecca McKisson, Layton and Loren Marrs, and Presttyn, Payssyn and Parkkyr Fuston; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Garold William Fuston, 89, of St. Joseph, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2022. He was born March 10, 1933 in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Clayton and Violet (Bettis) Fuston. He served in the U.S. Army at Fort Carson, Colorado. He then worked and retired from Rainbo Bread Company after 37 years. Garold married Doris Aughinbaugh on August 31, 1958. They had 64 loving years of marriage. He was a member of Ashland United Methodist Church, coached Little League Baseball, and loved camping with family and friends at Roaring River State Park. He also enjoyed having coffee in the morning at Roger’s and Hy-Vee. Garold was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Garold William Fuston, Jr.; sisters, Margaret Cobb, Phyllis Kramer, and Charlotte Lemar; and great-granddaughter, Lynlee Marrs. Gene preceded her in death on Dec. 30th, 2003. David L. McBride, 72, Union Star, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022.

On April 15, 1950 he was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to John T. and Esther M. (Chaney) McBride.

He attended Hall and Lake Contrary Schools before graduating from Benton High School in 1968. David worked all of his life, from the age of 12 years old, at the family business, McBride Boats and Motors. David married Carol J. King on August 22, 1981. She survives of the home. He enjoyed photography and creating pottery. David and Carol enjoyed riding motorcycles with many trips to Branson, Missouri for Yamaha rallies.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas P. McBride; and in-laws, Donna and Warren “Dennie” King.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years; brother, Michael R. McBride (Kendal); sister, Mary McBride; sister-in-law, Evelyn McBride; nieces and nephews, Ginger McGuire (Patrick), Shawn McBride, and Laura McBride; great-nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Norman L. Barnett, 94, St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022.

He was born June 9, 1928 in Muscotah, Kansas to Samuel and Margaret (Thomas) Barnett.

Norman married Nancy E. Marshall on October 1, 1971. They shared nearly 51 years of marriage.

As a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, he spent many hours doing work for the church – everything from mowing to inside repairs – while on the House &amp; Grounds Committee. Norman also liked to mow at home and keep his yard neat.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Philip Barnett; sisters, Beatrice Ray, Onita Brooks, and Helen Abramson; first wife, Mildred (Neubauer) Barnett, and their children, Linda, Gary, David and James.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Marshall) Barnett; stepson, Mark R. Kasselhut of Henderson, NV; brother, Howard (Crystelle) Barnett of Holton, KS; sister-in-law, Kay Barnett of Rushville, MO; step-grandson, Brian (Caroline) Moravek of Grand Junction, CO; step-great-grandson, Andrew Moravek of Grand Junction; nieces and nephews.

Joyce Baker Haws, 89, Country Club, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 26, 2022.

She was born October 14, 1932 in Platte City, Missouri to Lawrence and Opal (Miller) Baker. The family later moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, where Joyce graduated from Central High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Northwest Missouri State Teachers College and a master’s degree in education from the University of Wyoming.

Joyce married George W. Haws in 1954. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2008.

She began teaching in Shenandoah, Iowa and completed her career in Marshalltown, Iowa.Joyce was a member of P.E.O Sisterhood Chapter MJ and Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshalltown.

Joyce and George enjoyed raising Boxers, who were like their children. She was a very kind and empathetic person, who was always willing to help others.

The family thanks Vintage Gardens and Three Rivers Hospice for all their love, concern and care.

She was preceded in death by beloved husband, George; parents; brother, Bill Baker; and nine beloved Boxers.

Survivors include her cousin, Jim Colman, his wife, Joyce, and their children, Christopher Colman and Casey Loch; cousin, Thomas Miller and his wife, Sheri; sister-in-law, Barbara Baker and her son, Jeffrey; extended family members and friends.

Larry was born on August 17, 1938, in Brenner, Kansas to Owen and Martha (Begesse) Barnthson.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a lifelong resident of Troy where he owned and operated Trojan Graphics.&nbsp;&nbsp;Larry served in the Army National Guard for 16 years.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge #55, American Legion Post #55, Doniphan County Historical Society all of Troy and a member of the NRA.&nbsp;

He married Carol (Thomas) on May 29, 1963, in St. Joseph, Missouri.&nbsp;&nbsp;She survives of the home.&nbsp;&nbsp;Larry was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, Marge Ruhnke, Ruth Ruhnke, Esther Ruhnke, Betty Hoover, 3 brothers, Irwin Barnthson, Charles Barnthson and Raymond Barnthson&nbsp;

Larry D. Barnthson 1938 - 2022

Alberta Charlotte Daily, age 95, passed away on August 24, 2022, at home in Bendena, KS.

Alberta was born in Lemay Township in St. Louis, MO on February 1, 1927, to Albert Roman Birkenmeier and Mayda Evelyn (Thurman) Birkenmeier, the oldest of seven children. She attended Notre Dame High School in Lemay, MO and earned her GED in her 40s.

Alberta is survived by her husband, the love of her life, John Edward Daily, of the home in Bendena, children: Janie (David) Bennett – Bendena, KS; Char Cox – Raymore, MO; Deborah (Thom) Buttner – Jacksonville, FL; Linda House + Bob Miller – Lenexa, KS; son-in-law Mike Orf – Greenwood, MO; daughter-in-law Grace House – San Diego, CA; Ron (Marilyn) Birkenmeier – Lake St. Louis, MO; and a sister, MaryLou Zimmerman - Aguanga, CA. Alberta was delighted to have 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Alberta was preceded in death by her son, Jess House, and daughter, Evelyn Orf, granddaughter Dina, two great-great grandsons, Derrick and Zero, and by her siblings – Albert Birkenmeier, Jr. (Dude), Robert Birkenmeier (Sonny), Louise Niehaus, Barbara Collins, Dorothy Kampke, and Evelyn Rozycki.

Alberta weighed only 2½ pounds at birth, so her grandmother put her on a goosefeather pillow on the oven door to keep her warm all night. As a young child, she enjoyed games like dead end street ball, statues, tag, hide and seek, and skating in her shoes on the farm pond at the end of the street. Her grandma, who lived across the street, taught her to iron handkerchiefs.

During Alberta’s long working career, she held various jobs in the community. These included waitressing at the Busy Bee Candy Shop, working at Bemis Bag Factory, a sewing factory, and cleaned house for friends. She also worked at the American Legion Bowling Alley in Wentzville, MO and at Continental Telephone's corporate office in Ladue, MO. After retirement, she worked at Walmart in Wentzville for 13 years. Alberta was a great bowler and entered several tournaments; she loved gardening, preserving food, cooking wonderful meals for her family and friends, sewing and handiwork, and especially playing Mexican Rummy. At the age of 91, she could beat the pants off most players! Alberta also loved buffalos; her email address was Buffalo Gal! In her younger days, she enjoyed traveling with John across the United States, visiting nearly every state, including Alaska.

Alberta loved her children and extended family unconditionally, and she could often be found on the floor playing games with grand kids or taking them on trips to the St. Louis Zoo, Planetarium, or Busch Gardens. She loved dressing up in a clown costume on Halloween to surprise and trick her friends and family. Alberta spoiled her offspring with unconditional love and attention, lots of great food, and helped them out financially when she could; many lived with her when they needed a home.

Always a woman of strength, at the age of 82, Alberta left her home of 66 years outside of Wentzville and moved to Bendena with John to start a new adventure. During these past years, she enjoyed growing flowers, reading, going to movies, using Facebook and email, and loving and being with Johnny and her children and extended family. She will always be remembered for her kind and gentle ways, her witty, cute sense of humor, her positive outlook on life, her sweet smile and easy laughter, delicious cooking and most importantly, the all-encompassing love she gave to her husband, children, and extended family.

Alberta was beloved by all who knew her and will forever be missed and held closely within the hearts of those who love her.

A mass, Celebration of Life, and inurnment at Alderson Cemetery in Atchison County, KS will be held at a later date.

Alberta spoiled her offspring with unconditional love and attention, lots of great food, and helped them out financially when she could; many lived with her when they needed a home. Always a woman of strength, at the age of 82, Alberta left her home of 66 years outside of Wentzville and moved to Bendena with John to start a new adventure. During these past years, she enjoyed growing flowers, reading, going to movies, using Facebook and email, and loving and being with Johnny and her children and extended family. She will always be remembered for her kind and gentle ways, her witty, cute sense of humor, her positive outlook on life, her sweet smile and easy laughter, delicious cooking and most importantly, the all-encompassing love she gave to her husband, children, and extended family. Alberta was beloved by all who knew her and will forever be missed and held closely within the hearts of those who love her. A mass, Celebration of Life, and inurnment at Alderson Cemetery in Atchison County, KS will be held at a later date.<figure>

WATHENA,KANSAS&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Elmer Leroy Hansen, 91, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at his home.&nbsp;

Elmer was born on May 24, 1931, in Oakland, Nebraska to Edgar and Lucy (Herman) Hansen.&nbsp;&nbsp;He graduated from Oakland High School in 1949.&nbsp;&nbsp;He moved to Wathena in 1956 and worked as a rural mail carrier and farmed.&nbsp;&nbsp;Elmer served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.&nbsp;

He attended the First Baptist Church in Wathena, a life member of the American Legion Post #161 and V.F.W. Post #5531, Masonic Lodge #64 all of Wathena.&nbsp;&nbsp;Elmer was an active member of the Moila Shrine, Legion of Honor, Ole-Tymers Antique Autos and the Scottish Rite.&nbsp;

He married Lola Schuman on December 18, 1971, in Wathena.&nbsp;&nbsp;She survives of the home.&nbsp;&nbsp;Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Letha Erikson and brother, Dale Hansen.

Steven Edward Brown, 73, Sabetha, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022.

He was born September 12, 1948 in Beloit, Kansas to Guy and Lois (Gaston) Brown. He grew up in Beloit before the family moved to Sabetha, where he graduated from Sabetha High School.

He worked for the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Department before attending Emporia State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Steven then owned and operated his own accounting firm for nearly 20 years. In his later years, Steven was very active in Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Sabetha, and was a member of the Men’s Group there. Steven loved to fish, gather with friends for coffee and keep in touch with cousins and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vicki Munoz; and niece, Robin Cosner.

He is survived by his niece, Lorelei Cosner; great-nieces and nephews, Lita Sanders (Preston), Ian Cosner (Deidra), James Puryear, and Sarah Puryear; great-great-niece, Athena; numerous cousins, extended family members and friends.

Diane Edith Rogers Vap, 78, of Atwood, passed away on August 21, 2022, 
in North Platte, surrounded by her family. She was born March 20, 1944, 
in Bell, CA on the corner of Atlantic and Gage to Alden and Edith 
(Kersenbrock) Rogers, she just couldn't wait to get started on this 
amazing life. After WWII was over, Alden, Edith and Diane came back to 
Atwood to live on the Rogers farm. 

Diane attended the Atwood schools, 
graduating from high school in 1962. She then went on to Wesley School 
of Nursing where she earned her RN license in 1965. On August 28, 1965, 
she married her high school sweetheart, John F Vap, at Travis AFB, CA, 
where he was stationed. To this union two daughters, Nancy and 
Stephanie, were born. Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, 
sister, and friend to all. 
Diane's passion for nursing went beyond the clinics and hospitals where 
she was employed. She would care for anyone at any time where a nurse 
was needed, touching many hearts and lives of the people she knew, loved
 and cared for. Their lives were better for having had her care. Diane 
touched the lives of so many people, patients, and their families during
 her nursing career. She worked all areas of nursing, from OB to 
Hospice, even the occasional farm nursing when Nancy or Steph got hurt 
or needed that extra band-aid. She loved going to the cabin in Red 
Feather Lakes, CO, and fishing at the lakes.

She enjoyed spending 
holidays with family, baking goodies (especially cookies) for grandkids 
and making sure John was eating the right veggies for his health. She 
enjoyed playing bridge, hosting card parties, and visiting friends. She 
loved to sew, making formals and wedding dresses for her daughters (only
 one for Steph, more for Nancy). She loved to watch sports, cheering for
 her kids and grandkids in whatever they participated in. She loved to 
watch KU basketball, college football, golf, volleyball, swimming, and 
baseball. If she had a kid or grandkid in the game, she was there 
cheering them on whenever possible. She loved sunflowers, Christmas, 
reading historical fiction, collecting angels and her sisters. 
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Alden and Edith Rogers. She 
is survived by her husband John, of Atwood; daughters Nancy (Larry 
Tien), of Prairie View KS and Stephanie (Sean) Walsh, of Aurora CO; 
grandchildren, Alexandria Walker, Padraic and Ronan Walsh and Ilyana 
Walker (great); sisters Donna (Bill) Roe, of Atchison KS, Darlene 
(Lloyd) Irwin, of Albuquerque NM, Joyce (Russ) Shreves, Wichita KS and 
Joann Luedke Lenexa KS; many nieces, nephews, and friends. 
Funeral Mass is 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church, Atwood, with burial in Sts. Cyril and Methodius 
Cemetery, rural Rawlins County, KS.

Richard was born on June 16, 1959, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Floyd and Betty (Wineinger) Blanton, Jr.&nbsp;&nbsp;He moved to Troy in 1980 from St. Joseph.&nbsp;&nbsp;Richard worked for Doniphan County as the courthouse custodian for over 20 years, retiring in June of 2022.&nbsp;

He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Wathena, Kansas&nbsp;

Richard married Sue Taylor on October 2, 1982, in Troy.&nbsp;&nbsp;She survives of the home.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his mother.&nbsp;

2022, in Scott County, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on June 28, 2004, in Scott 
City, Kansas, the son of Micheal Dale Redburn and Loreena Stephanie 
Johnson.&nbsp; Issac was born in Scott City and moved to Haviland, Kansas at 
an early age until June of 2022 when he moved back to Scott City, 
Kansas.&nbsp; He was a Clerk and Cook at Casey’s General Store.

Issac was a member of the Friends Chapel in Haviland, Kansas, and was
 a past member of the FFA.&nbsp; Issac was a Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Survivors include his Father - Micheal Redburn of Haviland, Kansas,

Donald E. Grayson, 83, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022.

He was born November 17, 1938 in Plattsburg, Missouri to Elton and Nannie (Sylvie) Grayson. He grew up in Plattsburg, where he was a star football player at Plattsburg High School, graduating in 1956.

Donnie married Margaret Pennel on May 7, 1960, and they shared 62 years of marriage. She survives of the home.

He worked at Stetson Hats for over 50 years, starting out as a laborer and retiring as a supervisor. He owned thousands of hats, one of which he designed himself. After retirement, he drove for OATS for five years. Donnie loved the Lord. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Elwood, Kansas, where he was a Deacon. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and also was a member of the Tes Trams Club. He was known for his sense of humor, always making his family laugh. Most of all, Donnie was a wonderful husband and great father.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Alicia Janae’a; two sisters, Margaret Anderson and Barbara Bingham; and three brothers, Farris, Harold and Delbert Grayson.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters, Pam and Bari Grayson; grandchildren, Austen, David and Aalayha; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Carl Grayson (Dorothy), Wille Lee Grayson (Charlene), and Wilmenta Grayson; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Thursday, First Baptist Church in Elwood, Kansas. Interment Mount Washington Cemetery, Plattsburg, Missouri. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Troy, Kansas -&nbsp; Timothy “Tim” A. Keller, 54, of Troy, Kansas passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the Two Timbers in Highland, Kansas.

Tim was born on December 28, 1967, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Henry “Bill” and Patricia Sue (Moore) Keller.

He worked for Atchison Casting and worked as a mechanic.

Tim was preceded in death by his father, and grandparents, Howard and Margaret Keller and Roy and Joanne Moore.

Survivors: children, Brittany Smith (Kyle), Oren Keller, Tillie Keller and Jack Keller. Mother, Patricia Sue Lake (Joe). Brothers, Ron Keller, Brian Keller and Jeff Scroggins. Nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Troy Christian Church, Troy, Kansas.

Visitation: 4-6 Sunday at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home, Troy.

Inurnment at the Courter Cemetery at a later date.
