Chad Teresinski, 66, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2022.

He was born November 13, 1955 in St. Joseph to Geo and Norma Teresinski. He married Marianna Tarnovych, who survives of the home. Chad worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Kansas City for 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Olenka Prescher and Olga Atha; and niece, Deetra Ford.

Vanessa Jo Livesay, 62, passed away on April 6, 2022. 

She was born December 20, 1959 to Marilyn (Bennett) Livesay and Bob Livesay in Charleston, IL.  Her parents moved their family from Illinois to Cainsville, MO in 1965 to pursue a family farm operation. Vanessa and her siblings showed cattle, became active in 4H, and loved every Thanksgiving when their extended family would come from Illinois for the holiday. She attended Northwest Missouri State University after graduating high school.  She met Jay Nower while at school in Maryville.  The couple married in 1980 and moved to Kansas City.  They had 2 children, Jessica and Curtis, and moved to Weston to raise their family. Vanessa was the secretary at West Platte High School for many years and loved the students as her own.  It was common for her to receive a hug from a former student if she was running errands or out with Jay at a restaurant.   She looked forward to her monthly club meetings and her annual cross stitch trip to Oklahoma every July. 

 She was an avid reader, Jeopardy enthusiast, and lover of animals.  Vanessa never stopped learning.  She had gone back to school majoring in History and was just short of earning her degree. Her goal was to one day work in a museum.  She loved a glass of iced tea, her dogs, and her family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws Jim and Mary Edna Nower; and uncles Carroll Livesay and Allen Livesay. 

Vanessa is survived by her husband; daughter Jessica (Todd) Sebade of Columbus, NE; son Curtis (Holly) Nower and grandchildren Arianna and Rowan of Weston, MO; brother Michael (Marilyn) Livesay of Cainsville, MO; sister Vicki (Marty) Nower of Gladstone, MO; aunt Phyllis Livesay of Adkins, TX; uncle Jerry (Susie) Bennett of Arizona; aunt Ann Livesay of Mattoon, IL; brother-in-law Dan (Michelle) Nower of Knoxville, TN; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Benny Leslie Milling, 74, Gladstone, Missouri, passed away, on April 6, 2022.

On August 18, 1947, he was born in Santa Barbara, California to Robert and Margaret (Pool) Milling.

He married Judy Dhesse on September 15, 1973. Benny received his bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University. He proudly served his country in the Marine Reserve. For 32 years, he worked at BLM Packaging, as President/CEO. Benny, at the same time, worked in sales at Arrowhead Containers, retiring in 2016. He was a true gentleman. He was kind, thoughtful, hardworking, and cared deeply for his friends and family.

When Benny wasn’t working you could find him playing golf, singing in the choir, staying active, in the pool with his grandkids cheating at Marco Polo, and eating toast with butter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Linda Banks, Charles Milling, and Judith Lokey.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Milling; children, Melissa and Brad Voigt; grandchildren, Caedmon, Zeke, and Mack Voigt; sister, Lorie Milling.

Kenneth A. “Kenny” Sollars, 69, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

He was born April 25, 1952 in Clarinda, Iowa to Gerald and Mary (Schrodt) Sollars.

Kenny married Bonnie Monshower on May 10, 1975. She survives of the home. He loved bingo, WWE Wrestling, going to the casino, and watching “The Price Is Right.” In his younger years, he enjoyed playing poker with his buddies. Kenny had a very big heart and loved helping other people.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Matthew Sollars; and siblings, Gary, William, and Joyce Sollars.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie; children, Cary Warner, and Kenneth, Tammy, and Echo Sollars; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Pamela McCoy; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and beloved dogs, Lindsey and Sheba.

Violet Marie (Kirkendoll) Thompson left this world to meet her reward with her God on April 6, 2022 at the age of 100.

Marie was born in Cameron, MO on June 2, 1921 to “Doll” Norris and Maggie (Brooks) Kirkendoll, both deceased. She had a brother Charles and a sister, June, both deceased.

She married Robert Thompson in 1943 and they were married for 65 years when her beloved Robert passed.

She was preceded in death by her stepson Robert “Bobby” and stepson LTC David Thompson (ret.) (Norma).

She is survived by her stepson Col Vernon Dale Thompson (ret.) (Letha), daughter in law Norma (Magnus) Thompson, and niece, Sheila McFarland, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.

Marie and Robert were active in their church throughout their retired years. Marie celebrated her 100 birthday on June 2, 2021. At that time she was the oldest long term resident of Country Squire Independent Living Community.

Ms. George has been employed by Mead Products for 35 years until retiring in 2002. Before that she had worked at Whitaker Cable, Stevens Hat Company and F.M. Stamper Co.

Born January 27, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa and living in Cedar Rapids, Oelwein, Waterloo, Iowa and Spokane, Washington before moving to N.W. Missouri in 1948 where she lived in Savannah, Maryville, and St. Joseph, Missouri. She attended schools in Oelwein, Waterloo, Savannah, and Central High School in St. Joseph.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin C. Hoel and Jean Barton Kerns; sister, Pam Grider.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda; brothers, Les and Dave; grandchildren, Morgan, Whitney and Ben; numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul John Mozola, Jr., 93, of Weston, MO, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Mosaic Life Care Hospital in St. Joseph, MO. 

Paul was born February 13, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Paul John Vincent and Mary (Bielik) Mozola. 

 He attended Saint Rita of Cascia High School in Chicago and then graduated from University of Illinois.  Paul served his country in the Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He worked for IBM and others in computer sales. He and Lida Mae “Tiny” Taulbee were united in marriage at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on February 24, 1962.  They had no children of their own but certainly loved spending time with nieces and nephews. Paul had a very strong catholic faith and was a very devoted member of Holy Trinity after moving to Weston.  He was also very involved in the Weston Rotary, and served in various capacities, including President. Paul and Tiny loved to travel, especially with their constant companions, Maxine and Joe Collison. 

Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Lida Mae, his parents and sister Mary Ann Zemroz. 

A visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 10-11 am, followed by Mass at 11 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, MO. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston. Arrangements By:  Vaughn Funeral Home—Weston, MO.

Deanna Esther Rasmussen, 83, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, surrounded by family.

She was born April 16, 1938, near Manilla, Iowa to Amos and Esther Jahn. 

Deanna graduated from Adair (Iowa) High School in 1956. She married Estel “Gene” Rasmussen on March 2, 1957, who survives of the home. 

Deanna was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorene Wilson; brother, Dale Jahn; and sister-in-law, Janell Jahn.

In addition to her husband, Gene, she is survived by daughters, Robin Glawe (Phillip), Regina Daul (William); son, Steven Rasmussen (Sandra); as well as 8 grandchildren, Amber, Julianne, Kathryn, Rebecca, Noah, Samantha, Sydney, and Stefanie; and 5 great-grandchildren, Harrison, Elijah, John, Norma-Jeanne, and Deanna.

Deanna worked in the brokerage business and several insurance companies before retiring from U.S. Bank in 2003. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Kappa Class, and Mary Circle, also Red Hat Divas and Good Joe Sams Camping Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and attending various activities for her grandchildren. She liked to travel with Gene in their motor home. Together, they visited all 50 states, including an RV trip to Alaska and the Artic Circle.

Allen Dean Laurinat, 82, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 4, 2022, surrounded by family after a long illness.

He was born February 4, 1940, in Carroll County, Iowa to Elvin and Edna (Singsank) Laurinat. Allen married Mary E. Fletchall December 13, 1995. She survives of the home.

He was a member of Odessa United Methodist Church. Allen enjoyed gardening, yard work, hunting and in his younger years fishing with his father.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Anthony Evans; sisters, Janice Wanninger and Judy Olson.

Additional survivors include son, Scott Laurinat; daughter, Kristin Bigham; stepchildren, Sue Hatcher (Mike), David Evans, Jr.; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Muriel Jean (Oliver) Reiley, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital. 

 Muriel was born August 7, 1931, in Platte City, MO to Walter Banning and Annie Rogers (Murdock) Oliver. 

 She was a 1949 graduate of the Weston High School.  Muriel married Karl Schoeller Reiley on May 3, 1951, in Kansas City, MO. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Karl Schoeller Reiley; son Gary Reiley; brothers Harold and Kenneth Oliver; sister Carolyn Zeit; grandson Scott Simpson; and daughter in law Tressa Reiley. 

 Muriel is survived by her children Karl O. Reiley of K.C., MO, Michael R. (Marilyn) Reiley of K.C., MO, Patricia A. Simpson of Stover, MO, and Karen M. (Roy) True of K.C., MO; grandchildren Christopher, Daphnie, Jason, Travis, Jena, Jillian, Leslie, Tyler, and Clayton; siblings Martha Griffin of Atchison, KS, James (Catherine) Oliver of Basehor, KS, Mary “Judy” (Howard) Smith of Cummings, KS; sister in law Mary Oliver of Robinson, TX; and numerous extended family and friends.

Muriel was born August 7, 1931, in Platte City, MO to Walter Banning and Annie Rogers (Murdock) Oliver. She was a 1949 graduate of the Weston High School. Muriel married Karl Schoeller Reiley on May 3, 1951, in Kansas City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Karl Schoeller Reiley; son Gary Reiley; brothers Harold and Kenneth Oliver; sister Carolyn Zeit; grandson Scott Simpson; and daughter in law Tressa Reiley. Muriel is survived by her children Karl O. Reiley of K.C., MO, Michael R. (Marilyn) Reiley of K.C., MO, Patricia A. Simpson of Stover, MO, and Karen M. Maysville, Missouri……Joan “Jody” Pearl, age 67, was born November 17, 1954, in Cameron, Missouri the daughter of Keith and Norma (Owen) Meek and passed away April 3, 2022.

Jody was a 1972 graduate of Cameron High school. After high school Jody and Ronnie Pearl were united in marriage on November 10, 1973, at the First Christian Church in Maysville, Missouri and to this union three sons were born.&nbsp;

Jody worked many years for Dekalb County with the majority of those years as the collector/treasurer until her retirement. She volunteered at St. Luke’s North Hospital after moving to Smithville.&nbsp;

Jody loved spending time with her family and especially her two grandchildren. She always looked forward to going to Colorado to spend time with Justin hiking mountains and spending time outdoors.&nbsp;

She had a smile that would light up a room and humor that would have everyone laughing. She enjoyed listening to live music and was especially fond of bluegrass and Americana. She had a loving soul that touched the lives of everyone she ever met.

She is preceded in death by her mother; Norma Jean; sister, Diane Decker; nieces, Carrie Steale and Kristen Palmer.

Born April 7, 1940, in Rosendale, Missouri. She moved to St. Joseph, Missouri when she was two. The daughter of David and Bernice (Young) Reece.

Betty graduated from Lafayette High School in 1958. She worked at Shroers Drug Store when she met and married Ronald D. Anderson on August 11, 1961. He survives of the home.

James L. Kelly, 89, Hamilton, Missouri, returned to his Heavenly home on Wednesday March 30, 2022.

He was born August 25, 1932, in Bogard, Missouri to Laurence and Marjorie (Dinsmore) Kelly.

James married Ella Mae Holloway May 16, 1951. She preceded him in death July 11, 2012.

Upon returning from his service in the U.S. Army, James was employed as a lineman/electrician through Farmers Electric. He and Ella Mae made their home in Mendon, MO, where they raised their 4 children. In 1973 they were transferred to Hamilton, MO, where they stayed until his retirement. James was a Christian and a member of Harmony Presbyterian Church in Easton, Missouri, where he served as a deacon. Dad loved watching all the classic old westerns. He was an avid reader of anything western. He enjoyed collecting old tractors. He enjoyed watching the birds outside the window by his easy chair. The feeders were always full. He also enjoyed putting together puzzles. He was a faithful husband, loving father and grandfather.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.

James is survived by his children, Ricky Kelly (Linda), Pamela D. Hibler (Joe), Lawrence R. Kelly (Lori), Becky S. Kelly; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, John Vernon Kelly (Linda), sister, Mary Sue Kepley (Phil); numerous nieces and nephews.

He preceded her in death on September 7, 2007.

Kathleen was also preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Canter and twin-sister Darlene Warga. 

Survivors include her children, Roger and his wife Denise Meeks of Lincoln, Nebraska and Steven and his wife Karen Meeks of Effingham, Kansas. She married LeRoy Servaes of Atchison, Kansas on August 1, 2009. Deborah D. McGaughy, 62, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away March 31, 2022.

She was born June 25, 1959 in St. Joseph to George Sr. and Theora (Thomas) Rowland. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1977, then earned an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science from Missouri Western State University. Deborah married Roger McGaughy on June 3, 1978. He survives of the home. She worked in Accounting for Affiliated Foods for 20 years, then as a systems analyst for American Family for 23 years. Deborah was a deaconess at St. Francis Baptist Temple, where she was a member for 20 years. She loved to sew and garden, and was known for being very organized. She also loved to bowl and was in a league at Belt Bowl. Later in life, Deborah came to love fishing with Roger. He would deep-fry her catches for the family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Scott Rowland, Sr., and Kevin Rowland.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Roger; daughters, Tiffany McGaughy and Deitra Conley (Marcus); grandchildren, Kazjha Stevenson, Keidra McGaughy, and Elijah, Emmanuel and Emil Conley; siblings, George Fenton Rowland, Jr. (Joyce), Patricia Ross (Steve), Sherry Rowland (Art McGaughy), Larry Rowland (Mary), and Terry Rowland; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

On May 29, 1939 she was born in Axtel, Kansas to James and Lucy (Goodwin) Ward. She married Roy B. Brown in Savannah, Missouri on December 30, 1993. He survives of the home. Dottie was an avid sports fan, especially football. She loved keeping up with all of her grandkids. She enjoyed her house plants, animals, and watching reality television. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Kelly Wilcox; sister, Loneta Enright; and her children’s father, Lyle “Shorty” Wilcox.

She is survived by her husband Roy Brown; daughter, Kim Wilcox-Rice (Rod Rice); sons Jay Brown (Larenza), Scott Brown (Marylee), and Jeff Brown (Kimberly); and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; extended family and friends.

James Arnold Bilderback, 87, of Cummings, KS died on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Amberwell Health, Atchison, KS.

Jim was born on March 3, 1935, in Atchison, KS the son of Virgil and Mildred (Christian) Bilderback. Jim worked as a farmer and was a manager for the former Atchison Aluminum Foundry. He also owned and operated the Full Moon Saloon for a short time. He enjoyed raising cattle, farming, gardening, driving 2 cycle JD Tractors and socializing with people.

He was married to Linda J. George on March 19, 1976, in Atchison. She preceded him in death on January. 28, 2009. 

He is survived by three sons Ronnie (Sheila) Bilderback, Cummings, KS, Donnie (Yvonne) Bilderback, Effingham, KS and Jeff (Cheryl) Bilderback, Warsaw, MO, two daughters Bonnie Bilderback, Atchison, KS and Connie (Mike) Shelton, St. Joseph, MO, a sister Betty Pruett, Atchison, KS, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. James Arnold Bilderback, 87, of Cummings, KS died on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Amberwell Health, Atchison, KS.Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Camp Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Camp Creek Cemetery and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Jim worked as a farmer and was a manager for the former Atchison Aluminum Foundry. He also owned and operated the Full Moon Saloon for a short time. He enjoyed raising cattle, farming, gardening, driving 2 cycle JD Tractors and socializing with people.He was married to Linda J. George on March 19, 1976, in Atchison. She preceded him in death on January. 28, 2009. He is survived by three sons Ronnie (Sheila) Bilderback, Cummings, KS, Donnie (Yvonne) Bilderback, Effingham, KS and Jeff (Cheryl) Bilderback, Warsaw, MO, two daughters Bonnie Bilderback, Atchison, KS and Connie (Mike) Shelton, St. Joseph, MO, a sister Betty Pruett, Atchison, KS, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Jerry P. Bullock, 76, Savannah, Missouri, passed away peacefully with family and clergy at his side on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

He was born November 17, 1945 in Clarksdale, Missouri to James and Sadie (Miller) Bullock. He graduated from Stewartsville High School.

Charles “Chuck” R. Moser, of Cameron, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 27, 2022, with family by his side.

Chuck was born February 25, 1932, in Chillicothe, Missouri to Emmett and Ada Moser.

He graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1950. Chuck served in the United States Army and is a Veteran of the Korean War .Chuck and his family moved to Cameron in 1963 where he worked for the Missouri Highway Department as a Construction Inspector for 37 years until retirement. 

Survivors include children, Steve Moser (Pam), Hermann, Missouri and Cindy Pugh (Mark), Cameron, Missouri; grandchildren, Ashley Leazenby (John), Audrey Kuether (Ted), Kelsey Fehring (Mike), Alex Moser (Brittney), Kyle Pugh (Brittany); great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Natalie, Payton, Grayson, Vivienne, Landon, Harper, Nora, Henry, Treigh, Trayce, Tanner, Alec and Ryker; siblings, Joyce Welch (Jerry), Rockport, Missouri and Lee Edward Moser (Nancy), Maryville, Missouri; special extended family, Nina Helm, Jennifer Riley (Brian), Jonell Chestnutt (Eric), Jeff Butts, Hailey Ford (Zach), Kylie Verhagen, Whitney Greeley (Jacob), Madisyn Riley, Mikayla Helm, Draven Godwin, Kaylyn Banks (Kevin), and Logan Butts.

Charles R. "Chuck" Moser 1932 - 2022

John B. Sirridge, 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2022, in Platte City, MO. 

John was born in Kansas City, KS, at Providence Hospital on February 10th, 1943, to John A. and Elizabeth C. (Schmitz) Sirridge. 

He was the second of six boys born to this union and by all accounts had a wonderful childhood growing up on the family homestead in Kansas City, KS. John attended St. Peter’s Grade School and Bishop Ward High School. After high school he entered Conception Seminary College. He returned to the family home and ended up meeting Karen Siegrist on a blind date. The two married in 1963. They resided in Kansas City, KS, until John took a new job with Cudahy Foods which took him and his family to Denver, CO. John moved up the ranks quickly and his career took him and his family to many different cities. Eventually Cudahy Foods was bought out and became Bar-S Foods. His changing roles provided many great stories from his times as a salesman in Farmington, NM; a sales manager in New Orleans, LA; a plant manager in Clinton, OK; and eventually an executive vice president in Phoenix, AZ.Upon John’s retirement, he and Karen got to realize their dream of owning a farm. They made the big move from Paradise Valley, AZ, to Platte City, MO, in 1999. This allowed for John and Karen to spend more time with their family as they were simply closer. John enjoyed many years of gardening, raising cattle, managing a bucking bull enterprise with Karen, and being part of an award-winning barbecue team with his brothers.

Sadly, John was preceded in death by his youngest son, Brian, in 2021. 

He leaves behind his wife Karen, his daughter Susan, and his sons John (Melissa) and Scott Sirridge. He also leaves behind his brothers William Sirridge (Nancy), James Sirridge (Joann-deceased), Thomas Sirridge (Georgia), Michael Sirridge (Marie), and Terrance Sirridge (Molly). In addition, he leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. John’s family was very important to him, as he was to them. He will be greatly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Therese Catholic Church,&nbsp;7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO. A private interment will take place at a later date.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Shirley S. Jenkins, 90, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022.

On July 30, 1931 she was born in Newton, Iowa to Joseph and Georgia (Vansice) Sinkler.

Shirley married Ralph Jenkins on September 1, 1957. They enjoyed nearly 60 years of marriage. He precedes her in death.

She was an active member of Living Hope Church. She was also a member of the Downtown Sertoma. Shirley enjoyed bible study, antiquing and refinishing furniture. She found solace and a sense of accomplishment by completing challenging puzzles. She had a passion and zeal for worshipping Jesus through music by playing the guitar, organ and singing loudly. Her family will lovingly remember her as a straight shooter and her genuine love for helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Jerome Sinkler.

She is survived by her children, Andrea Gamman (Alan), Suellen Newman (Tom), Curtis Jenkins (Dawn); grandchildren, Allison and Aaron; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Brooklyn; siblings, Gerald Sinkler and Gloria Sharp; several nieces and nephews; dear friends and caregivers, Steve and Mahlona “Diane” Wylie.
