A Kansas state Senator has been ousted by his own party.

Sen. Dennis Pyle of Hiawatha lost badly in the Republican
primary Tuesday, trailing two challengers by wide margins.

According to the unofficial tally by the Kansas Secretary of
State, Army Reserve veteran Craig Bowser received slightly more than 5,000
votes to win the race. John Eplee, an Atchison physician, came in second with
4,495 votes. Pyle, who has represented the district for 20 years, finished
a distant third, receiving only 2,804 votes.

Kansas Republican Party officials soured on Pyle when he ran as
an independent candidate for governor two years ago, claiming Pyle syphoned off
conservative votes in the party’s unsuccessful effort to unseat Gov. Laura
Kelly, a Democrat.

Veteran Kansas state senator finishes 3rd in GOP primary

Buchanan County Drug Strike Force investigator Terry White has won
the Republican primary for Circuit Judge, Circuit 5, Division 3, effectively
winning the judgeship.

White defeated Andrew County Prosecutor Monica Morrey in the
Republican primary Tuesday. No Democrat filed in the race.

White received 5,896 votes with Morrey receiving 4,915,
according to unofficial tallies from both Buchanan and Andrew Counties.

White has spent 40 years in law enforcement. White works as an
assistant prosecutor in Nodaway County and is the Tarkio Municipal Judge.

St. Joseph voters approved a 10-year extension to the 3.875%
Use Tax.

St. Joseph City Manager Bryan Carter says the tax is vital to
the city street program, particularly to the contract overlay program.

“Then it also ensures stability in the manner in which we
handle Internet sales tax. So those are two key components that come out of the
vote,” Carter tells KFEQ/St. Joseph Post. “It was very positive to see the
strong support for both those components.”

According to unofficial results from the Buchanan County Clerk’s
office, 7,506 voters cast ballots in favor of the tax extension with 2,880
voting against it; a split of 72-to-28%.

Carter says city officials are very pleased with the margin of
victory.

“We were uncertain going in what the vote totals would be, but
it was really good to see the margin that existed there,” Carter says. “I think
it probably reflects the importance of street maintenance and reflects the
progress that we’ve made using these funds over the last 10 years.”

Carter says financial stability is important to the city
budget.

“Having this in place for the next 10 years is going to ensure
that we’ll have dedicated funds to street maintenance for the next decade and
then also that we don’t have any significant swings in our other budget items
as well.”

The Use Tax can generate up to $4 million a year, though Carter says
the tax fluctuates depending on the size of construction projects undertaken in
a given year.

levy by 59-cents with only 4,137 voting against; a split of 63% to 36%.

St. Joseph School Superintendent Gabe Edgar says the margin
means a lot to the district.

“The margin shows that the community was loud and clear about
what they wanted for our staff here in the St. Joseph School District,” Edgar
tells KFEQ/St. Joseph Post.&nbsp; “That’s exciting.
It is another step forward and we’re looking to put it to good use and offer
the very best education for the students here.”

The St. Joseph School District estimates the property tax
increase will raise $7.1 million annually. The St. Joseph Board of Education
has approved using the additional money to pay for a $2,750 flat pay raise for
all teachers and staff in the district.

Edgar says this vote will boost morale among St. Joseph public
school teachers and staff.

“Well, I think it definitely is going to be a positive. We
have a lot of work to do academically, which this will boost that morale in
order to fix some of our academic issues,” Edgar says. “It all goes together.
It’s kind of seamless. It’s a system and it was a good shot in the arm for our
system.”

Edgar says he did fewer presentations on the issue than
normal, likely because not as many civic groups meet in the summer. Still, when
he made presentations, he didn’t feel the issue generated overly negative
reactions from the public.

“There was really nothing that was terribly negative,” Edgar
says. “Once we explained everything, I think people really felt that it was something
that was needed for the St. Joseph School District to move forward,” “I didn’t
expect it to be as high as it is, but I was pretty confident that it would
pass.”

St. Joseph voters give school tax levy increase 63% support

Missouri voters on Tuesday rejected an attempt by lawmakers to exempt child care facilities from paying property taxes, an incentive supporters hoped would help with the state’s day care shortage.

When the Associated Press called the race at 10:30 p.m., more than 54% of Missourians had voted against amending the Missouri Constitution to offer the property tax exemption. It’s one of several attempts by lawmakers in recent years to take action on the state’s shortage of child care facilities.

“This is just one incentive to try to make that easier for the facilities,” state Sen. Travis Fitzwater said during a committee hearing on the bill last year.

According to the language on voters’ ballots, the exemption was “intended to make child care more available, which would support the well-being of children, families, the workforce and society as a whole.”&nbsp;

An investigation by The Independent and Muckrock found nearly one in five Missouri children lives in a “child care desert,” where there are more than three children under the age of six for every licensed child care slot. Some areas have more than 20 children per licensed seat or no daycare access at all.&nbsp;

Even in areas with plenty of licensed child care seats, staffing shortages mean facilities can’t operate at full capacity. It can be difficult to hire for child care jobs, which paid, on average, less than $12 an hour in 2021.&nbsp;

And while COVID relief funding poured into Missouri to help with the shortage, it largely went to ZIP codes that weren’t child care deserts, The Independent and MuckRock found.&nbsp;

It’s unclear how much money child care providers might have saved statewide if the property tax exemption had passed. Voters’ ballots said local governments were unsure what the fiscal impact might be to their budgets.

But the hope for supporters was that saving child care providers money might help with the shortage.&nbsp;&nbsp;

“It’s going to take an all-of-the-above approach to tackling the child care crisis,” Heidi Geisbuhler Sutherland, a lobbyist for the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said in a hearing last year.&nbsp;

When the legislation came before Missouri lawmakers, it had support from an array of child care and economic development organizations, including the chamber. Geisbuhler Sutherland said business owners have told the chamber that the lack of child care makes it difficult for companies to find workers.

Missouri lawmakers have considered an array of options to deal with the child care shortage. This spring, Gov. Mike Parson pushed a package of child care tax credits, but the legislation stalled in the Senate because of ultra-conservative opposition to “welfare” or the attempt to “give away free child care.”

Parson called for the tax credits in his State of the State speech in January, noting Missouri had enough licensed facilities to serve just 39% of children, and proposed a budget that increased child care subsidies by $51.7 million.

Nina Hampton of Columbia voted at American Legion Post 202 and opposed the child care property tax amendment.&nbsp;

“Corporations are paying off the politicians,” she said. “The poor guy keeps paying and paying but the corporations get everything.”

ATCHISON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 10p.m. Tuesday in Atchison County.

The Kansas H ighway Patrol reported a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle driven by&nbsp; Antone Lee&nbsp;Artman, 65, Oskaloosa, was southbound on U.S. 159 one mile north of Muscotah.

He lost control of the vehicle, traveled into the west ditch and was thrown from the motorcycle.

EMS transported Artman to Stormont Vail where he was pronounced deceased. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the KHP.

of raising the local school levy by 59-cents. The increase is expected to raise
$7-point-1 Million dollars annually. The St. Joseph School Board has promised a
2-Thousand, 750 dollar flat pay raise to all teachers and staff.

stronger approval to extension of the city use tax with 7,506 voting in favor
and only 2,880 voting against; a split of 72.27% to 27.73%.

Buchanan County Republican voters favored Lt. Governor Mike
Kehoe as their nominee for governor, though not by much over his two main
rivals. Republicans in Buchanan County gave Kehoe 2,842 votes to Jay Ashcroft’s
2,540 and Bill Eigel’s 2,428.

Buchanan County Republicans favor Lincoln Hough for Lt.
Governor, giving him 31% of the vote locally.

Dean Plocher won the most votes among Buchanan County
Republicans for Secretary of State in a very close race among the top five.
Mike Carter came in second with Mary Elizabeth Coleman, and Denny Hoskins
trailing close behind.

Buchanan County Republicans strong backed incumbent Vivek
Malek as state Treasurer.

Andrew Baily got the nod among Buchanan County Republicans for
Attorney General.

Buchanan County Democrats favor Lucas Kunce as the party nominee
to take on incumbent Republican Josh Hawley in the U.S. Senate race this November.

Democrats in Buchanan County favored Crystal Quade as the
party’s nominee for governor, but just barely. Quade received 1,592 votes in
Buchanan County with Mike Hamra receiving 1,450.

Buchanan County Democrats overwhelmingly favor Richard Brown
as the nominee for Lt. Governor. The race for Secretary of State among local Democrats
was very close with Barbara Phifer receiving 1,474 votes, Monique Williams
getting 1,335, and Haley Jacobson garnering 1,117.

St. Joseph voters approve school levy and use tax extension Tuesday

 After some offseason troubles there was question among Chiefs fans of if receiver Rashee Rice would be with the team at the start of training camp in St. Joseph 

Rice says with the threat of suspension, being at camp is very important to be able to focus on football 

"Just because I get to be out here and still be a part of my team and we get to dominate and focus on our goal this year," Rice tells reporters.  

Rice's potential suspension by the NFL is a dark cloud looming over Chiefs camp, but Rice would not comment on that 

"It's a legal process and my team is handling it off the field for me," Rice says.

Rice knows through it all though he has one man in his corner, his quarterback Patrick Mahomes 

"He's been very important, he's there for me whenever I need him, on or off the field, he's only a call away and he's always going to pick up my call, so I got him," Rice says

The Chiefs have been spending this week of training camp beginning to fully gear up for their first preseason game this weekend.  

Kansas City still has a few players injured, that may not play Saturday, and a slew of young guys working to prove they deserve to be on the 53-man roster.  

Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo says he's excited to see the chemistry between some of those young players in the first preseason game 

"Who will communicate in the heat of battle, you know sometimes it's controlled here but kind of getting into a real game atmosphere," Spagnuolo tells reporters following practice. "Biggest thing is I want to see guys that are unknown to me from their toughness and tackling, those are gonna be the two biggest things."

Several young players in the Chiefs secondary have been working hard during training camp at Missouri Western, hoping to make an impact on the team. 

Spagnuolo is ready to see some of those young players step up in the first preseason game on Saturday.  

"Jaden (Hicks), all of them, Kamal (Hadden), even guys, Ekow (Boye-Doe) didn't play a lot back there last year right, guys that haven't had a lot of time back there, I'd like to see those guys," Spagnuolo says. 

Spagnulo says he's ready to see some of the toughness from players in an actual game, as he determines whose "tough tough" and whose "fake tough"  

The Chiefs have one more practice at Missouri Western before they depart for Jacksonville.  They take the practice fields tomorrow at 9:15

Spagnuolo is ready to see some of those young players step up in the first preseason game on Saturday. Rashee Rice focuses on football with potential suspension looming

A celebration of a milestone anniversary and a mural unveiling
as Albaugh commemorates not only its 45 years in business, but the history of
St. Joseph.

Albaugh purchased the old St. Joseph Stockyards to expand its
operations, building a skybridge across Stockyards Expressway from its
manufacturing facility to its shipping warehouses on the land purchased from
the Stockyards.

It’s not just any skybridge, according to founder Dennis
Albaugh, but one with a mural celebrating St. Joseph history.

“The mural that we put over the road that’s kind of a give
back to the city of St. Joe,” Albaugh tells KFEQ/St. Joseph Post. “We went back
to the city of St. Joe 32 times and asked for different building projects. And
the city of St. Joe, I can’t thank them enough. They’ve been proactive and worked
with industries, not work against industries. It’s not that way in all the
cities that we operate in.”

The mural comprises 64 hand-painted panels depicting St.
Joseph history from the Pony Express to the St. Joseph Stockyards. Artist Sam
Welty painted the mural.

Albaugh also salvaged a bit of St. Joseph history.

Albaugh says the company headquarters is the old cashier
building used by the stockyards to pay cattlemen and hog producers, who sold
their livestock across the street.

“We probably spent three times more than it would have cost us
to tear this building down and put up new,” Albaugh says, adding razing the
building to construct new was discussed. “I said, ‘No, this is part of the history
of St. Joe, Missouri. We’re leaving this building.’ We’re happy. We use a lot
of it today. It works very good to have customers come in and see it and it’s
kind of the old history of what was here in St. Joe.”

The building contains the cashier windows, vaults, and other
remnants from a bygone era.

Albaugh says he never envisioned the company growing as it as
and says it would have been possible without a quality workforce.

“The biggest thing that I’m real pleased with is we’re able to
get good help at St. Joe, Missouri,” Albaugh says. “That help staff is unbelievably
good down here. You can run a business with good help. It’s hard to run a
business if you don’t have the good staff behind it.”

Albaugh manufacturers generic pesticides, herbicides, and
other crop products sold throughout the United States as well as Canada with
some sold in Mexico.

A final closing date for the St. Joseph store has not been announced, according to employees who took phone calls Tuesday. In addition to the St. Joe location, Big Lots is also closing their stores in Jefferson City, Independence in Missouri and in Salina, Kansas.

The discount retailer is working to overcome a drop in sales and significant debt.&nbsp; &nbsp;<a href="https://biglotsinc.gcs-web.com/static-files/60493747-7d71-416b-8037-11e81b444700">Click here to</a> see the company's latest regulatory filing that indicates their plan to close stores.

Big Lots closing location in St. Joseph

It is the Missouri Republican primary ballot which is crowded
today.

Nine candidates appear on the ballot for Governor. Six
Republicans are campaigning for the nomination for Lieutenant Governor. Eight
candidates vie for the Secretary of State nominee, with six for Treasurer, and
two for Attorney General.

Locally, voters will decide a 59-cent St. Joseph School
District levy increase to pay for a $2,750 flat pay raise for teachers and all
staff for the St. Joseph School District. St. Joseph city officials are asking
local voters to extend the local 3.8% use tax for the next 10
years.

Two state constitutional amendments will be decided by
Missouri voters today. One would provide a property tax break for child care
providers. The other would require Kansas City to spend at least 25% of
its budget on policing.

The big race in Kansas is the 2nd Congressional
District of eastern Kansas. Five Republicans and two Democrats are in the race
to succeed Republican Congressman Jake LaTurner who decided against running for a third term in Congress.

The Republicans on the ballot are Derek Schmidt, Jeff Kahrs,
Shawn Tiffany, and Chad Young. The Democrats running are Nancy Boyda and Matt Kleinmann.

The polls in
both states close at seven this evening.

Voters face big decisions today

NODAWAY COUNTY—A Missouri woman was injured and later arrested after an accident that occurred Sunday evening in Nodaway County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 Ford Explorer driven by Taylor R. Coffelt, 24, Ravenwood, was westbound on U.S. 136 west of Neon Road one and one half miles west of Ravenwood.

The SUV traveled off the north side of the road, started skidding and the driver overcorrected. The SUV returned to the road, traveled off the south side of the road, struck an embankment, overturned, struck the embankment again and came to rest on its wheels in the ditch.

Coffelt refused treatment at the scene and a private vehicle later transported her to Mosaic in Maryville.&nbsp; She was also arrested on requested charges that include driving while intoxicated-drugs, operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manor involving an accident and no seat belt, according to the MSHP.

Mo. woman accused of DWI after injured in rollover crash

A
proposition on the St. Joseph ballot Tuesday would raise the St. Joseph School
District levy by 59 cents to pay for a $2,750 flat increase for teachers and
all staff.

St.
Joseph School Superintendent Gabe Edgar says the school board decided to
approach raises differently if voters approve Proposition S.

“What we
have done is we’ve come up with a dollar amount, which is $2,750. So we’re going
to give $2,750 to every employee in the school district,” Edgar tells host
Barry Birr on the KFEQ Hotline. &nbsp;“That
means, every para-educator, every food service employee, every operations,
every teacher, every administrator, every single employee is going to get $2,750.”

If the
issue passes, the St. Joseph School District would waive Proposition C funding
from the state in exchange for the 59-cent increase in the local tax levy. It
would raise an estimated $7.1 million annually. Proposition C was approved by
Missouri voters in 1982, dedicating a one cent sales tax to public education if
districts reduced their property tax levy. Nearly all school districts in
Missouri have waived Proposition C in favor of local funding.

Edgar
says St. Joseph has suffered in attempting to attract and keep teachers,
because of the district’s low salaries.

“You don’t
go into public education to get rich. You go into public education, because you
have a calling. You go into public education for students. Some people do make
decent money at the end of their careers,” Edgar says. “Whenever you start in
public education, you’re not doing it to become rich, I can promise you that.”

Edgar
says the St. Joseph base teacher annual pay of $40,000 is lower than all but one
of its 15 neighboring districts. An increase to $42,750 would make the St. Joseph
School District more competitive in recruiting teachers.

“So, we’ll
go up to right below Savannah, which is at $43,000,” Edgar says. “We’ll bypass
Plattsburg, East Buch, Mid Buch, Blue Springs, and Raytown and then be right
below Cameron and Savannah.”

Cameron
pays teachers a base wage of $43,100 while Savannah has a base teacher pay of
$43,000.

St. Joseph voters decide teacher pay issue Tuesday

After a controversial start to his NFL career, new Chiefs punter Matt Araiza is getting a fresh start in Kansas City during Training Camp in St. Joseph.

Araiza was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2022, but they cut him after sexual assualt allegations. 

Araiza says he wasn't sure if he would ever get a shot in the league again.

"There were times that I didn't, and there were times that I did, it honestly kept going back and forth in my mind," Araiza tells reporters after practice.  "But yeah there was a lot of moments where I thought it was over, so I'm incredibly grateful to be here."

The lawsuit against Araiza was dropped in December.  Kansas City signed the punter in February.

Araiza has a unique trait that not many NFL punters have. He punts with his left foot. 

Special Teams Coordinator Dave Toub has said that's what made signing Araiza appealing, because the ball just comes differently off the left foot. 

Araiza also says he feels like that gives him an advantage. 

"I've punted with a lot of guys in the NFL, a lot of guys come to San Diego during the offseason and train, and the one thing I have over everyone is how much my punts move," Araiza says. "I've caused a ton of drops here, and I'm looking to see that on Sundays I think that will be great, someone muffs a punt that is a huge game changing play."

One fan of Araiza is his head coach Andy Reid

"I like him, just keep working, consistency always as you go, but you can see it I mean he's booming the thing," Reid says. "Be curious to see it in games, let's see how he does there."

Araiza, who has been coined with the nickname 'Punt God', says it will be pretty surreal to step on the field on Sundays after believing his career might have been over.

The Chiefs practiced for just over two hours today.  The only new injury reported from Reid was Chris Jones who took what he called a "stinger" to the shoulder. 

The Chiefs practice again tomorrow on the Missouri Western campus in St. Joseph at 9:15.  It is the last public practice this week before Saturday's preseason game.

he makes his pitch for why Missouri Republicans should support his nomination for
governor.

Eigel made a stop at Rosecrans Memorial Airport, one of seven
cities he is visiting on this last day before the primary election.

While many perceive this election to be a three-way race among
Eigel, Lt. Governor Mike Kehoe, and Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, Eigel sees
it as a two-person race.

“Well, right now the polls say it’s exactly tied. The polling that
we’ve looked at and we’ve been keeping an eye on says it’s tied between (Lt.)
Gov. Kehoe and I, but there remained a pretty significant number of undecideds,”
Eigel tells reporters during his stop at Rosecrans. “Historically, the undecideds,
we’re hoping they continue to break for the candidate that’s the
anti-establishment candidate.”

Missouri has overwhelmingly voted Republican the last few election
cycles making this race the likely outcome in November.

“The Republican Party is the pro-life party. The Republican Party
is the one that’s trying to deliver more limited, smaller government. I’ve got
some criticisms, of course, of some of my opponents that haven’t really made
good on those promises, but if you look at the national Democratic brand, they’re
talking about defunding the police. They’re talking about the destruction of our
families and our children. That message isn’t resonating,” according to Eigel. “So,
I do think the winner of tomorrow is going to have a heavy influence on the
General Election in November.”

Polls open tomorrow morning at six o’clock.

Sen. Eigel makes pitch for governor in state fly-around

Nearly 1,900 school supply items were donated for needy
students during the annual Stuff the Bus drive.

The United Way of Greater St. Joseph reports community members
donated 18,962 items at both Wal Marts in St. Joseph. The United Way
reports $1,700 was donated as well.

More than 300,000 school supply items have been donated

donated 18,962 items at both Wal Marts in St. Joseph. The United Way

United Way reports another successful Stuff the Bus campaign

Months of campaigning and TV ad wars will come to a close Tuesday, as Missouri voters head to the polls to pick their party’s nominee for Congress, the state legislature and nearly every statewide office.&nbsp;

The Independent tried to answer some of the questions you may have about voting in Missouri’s primary.&nbsp;

Polls across the state open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Voters in line by 7 p.m. are entitled to cast a ballot.

Before you head out the door, check your voter registration and polling location at&nbsp;<a href="http://govotemissouri.com/" target="_blank">GoVoteMissouri.com</a>.&nbsp;

Some local election officials said the state’s website has the most up-to-date information on the new polling sites. Others recommended going directly to the county’s website or calling local officials instead. The GoVoteMissouri.com website will also provide the information you need to contact your local election authority.

How do I find out what’s on the ballot?

Local election authorities provide sample ballots, which voters can study, fill out and bring with them on Election Day to use as a guide. They are typically posted on your county’s website. Researching your ballot ahead of time will help cut down on the time you spend at the polls, and local election officials are encouraging voters to do this.

Registered Missouri voters will&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sos.mo.gov/voterid" target="_blank">need a photo ID issued by Missouri or the federal government</a>&nbsp;in order to vote.&nbsp;

If you do not have any of these forms of identification, but are a registered voter, you may cast a provisional ballot. Your ballot will count if you return to your polling place on Election Day with a photo ID, or the signature on your provisional ballot envelope is determined by your local election authority to match the signature on your voter registration record.

If you cast a provisional ballot, you will receive a stub from your provisional ballot envelope with instructions on how to verify that your provisional ballot is counted.

Voters may call the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sos.mo.gov/elections/elections_integrity" target="_blank">Secretary of State hotline</a>&nbsp;at 1-800-669-8683 with any questions or to file a complaint with the the agency’s elections division.

A nonpartisan election protection hotline (866-OUR-VOTE) will also have volunteer lawyers ready to answer questions on election day.&nbsp;

Missouri primary election day FAQ: What you need to know to make sure your vote counts

WORTH COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just after 1p.m. Sunday in Worth County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2021 Chevy Suburban driven by Lesa A. Darrah, 46, Redding, Iowa, was southbound on U.S. 169 just north of 128th trail. The SUV traveled off the west side of the road, struck a MODOT barrier and overturned.

Worth County ambulance transported Darrah to Ringold County, Iowa hospital. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.

Driver hospitalized after Missouri SUV rollover crash

An adjustment this NFL season for fans, players and coaches alike will be to a new kickoff rule.  

People got their first look at the rule during Thursday's Hall of Fame game between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans.  

Chiefs Special Teams Coordinator Dave Toub says he was excited to see it in action in an actual game 

"Couldn't wait to see it, I was like everybody else was I was the same way," Toub tells reporters after practice. "I thought there might've been a couple bigger returns, but they kept it kind of vanilla especially in this first game, but you've got a lot more games coming up here Thursday and Friday I guess."

Preseason will be the big evaluation period for how to play into the new kickoff rules.

Toub says kicker Harrison Butker has spent a lot of time preparing for the new kickoff "In the afternoon we're inside, we're kicking off in there, we're working kickoffs inside," Toub says. "So, he wants to kick off all the time, so we've done a lot experimenting with that, and he's got a variety of kicks." As the Chiefs special teams unit adjusts to a new kickoff rule, they also continue to search for who could be back returning kicks and punts. One option is third year receiver Skyy Moore who has had his struggles producing for the Chiefs since being drafted two years ago. Moore says that he sees more opportunities to make an impact in the return game with the new kickoff rules "I see the benefit in putting that rule in, it's definitely going to make the game more exciting, more kickoff return opportunities, so I'm excited for that for sure," Moore says. It was a lighter practice today for the Chiefs as they held a "10-10-10 practice. 10 offensive plays, 10 defensive plays, 10 minutes of special teams cycling, practicing for just under two hours. The Chiefs return to the practice fields tomorrow at 9:15 for the first of three more practices this week ahead of Saturday's preseason game.<figure>

 </figure>Injury Report During a lighter practice on Sunday for the Chiefs there were no new additions to the injury report, but there were a handful of players that returned to practice. Cornerback Jaylen Watson, who returned to practice on Friday in a yellow non-contact jersey, was back in his normal jersey as he hit the practice field. Also returning to practice was safety Deon Bush and receiver Justin Watson. Both had missed part of training camp with ankle injuries.
