DEKALB COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 1p.m. Friday in DeKalb County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Toyota Corolla driven by James A. Graeff, 48, Clarksdale, was southbound on MO 33 at Florence Street in Maysville.

The car rear-ended a 2002 Toyota Sienna driven by Lori A. Croley, 55, Trenton, who was waiting to make a left turn.

DeKalb County-Clinton EMS transported Croley to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Graeff refused treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.

Missouri woman hospitalized after rear-end crash

Officials with the City of St. Joseph have named the next Chief of Police.  

Paul Luster. who spent 25 plus years with the Kansas City Police Department, will take over leadership of the St. Joseph Police Department next month. 

Luster says he was drawn to St. Joseph after participating in a training session in the city two years ago. 

"Thought to myself then this is a really neat city, so when I saw the opportunity for the police chief opening didn't have to really think about it much," Luster tells reporters following his introduction as police chief. "Talked to my family and away we went." 

The search for the next Police Chief began back in September after Chris Connally retired.  Commander Dave Hart served as the Chief of Police in the interim. 

Luster says that the community involvement in the search for the next police chief really solidified his decision to want to be here. 

"The level of engagement was incredible, I was impressed with the amount of community that showed up, we had the panel interviews and then the community meet and greet, I was just impressed with the community," Luster says. "I was impressed with how much they care about this community and how much they care about who their police chief was going to be, and so I want them heavily involved in everything that I'm doing, how can we do better to effectively police this community." 

Luster will take over as Police Chief on June 26th.

The Supreme Court Thursday ruled against the Environmental Protection Agency in the case Sackett vs. EPA regarding the Biden administration's Waters of the U.S. rule. 

The court stated that wetlands under the jurisdiction of the Clean Water Act must have a continuous surface connection to bodies of water, making it difficult to determine where the water ends, and the wetland begins. 

American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall responded, "The justices respect private property rights. It's now time for the Biden administration to do the same and rewrite the Waters of the United States Rule." 

Representative Dan Newhouse, a Washington state Republican and Congressional Western Caucus Chairman, says, “This landmark decision from the Supreme Court is a clear demonstration of our nation’s commitment to upholding the principles of individual property rights.” 

Agricultural Retailers Association President and CEO Daren Coppock added, “The decision finally restores common sense back into WOTUS regulation.”

CLINTON COUNTY —Clinton County Missouri Sheriff Larry Fish says residents should expect a significant increase in traffic as hundreds travel to see a nun’s exhumed, “incorrupt” body.

After Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster, founder of the Benedictine Sisters of Mary in Gower, passed away in May of 2019 she was buried on the grounds of the chapel. Four years later the sisters decided to dig up her remains to place them under an altar in the chapel.&nbsp; &nbsp;

They found cracks in her tomb and her body intact and appearing to be incorrupt.&nbsp; &nbsp;Sister Lancaster's body is on display until Monday, May 29

Bishop James Johnston of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph released the following statement regarding Sr. Wilhemina:&nbsp;

“The condition of the remains of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster has understandably generated widespread interest and raised important questions. At the same time, it is important to protect the integrity of the mortal remains of Sister Wilhelmina to allow for a thorough investigation.&nbsp;

🎥 Sheriff warns of traffic issues as people travel to see exhumed nun

The St. Joseph Community Alliance has revealed the results of a recent community survey and are seeing improvements for the first time in years. 

Director of the Community Alliance Tama Wagner says perception of St. Joseph has increased in several key areas.  

"Every livability trend has improved from is it a good place to work, is there overall quality of life in the community, is it a good place to raise children," Wagner says during a press conference at the St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce. "What's significant about this, is that for the first time since 2010 trendlines have improved." 

Wagner says the largest increases came in the area of as a community are things moving in the right direction.  

More positive results came from an older demographic, and the community alliance is working to find ways to get a more positive insight from younger people. 

Wagner says one way they could do that is utilizing Missouri Western and showing this is a university town. 

"How do we integrate that into the community? How do we integrate the students into the community? How do we make this have a university vibe that a lot of different communities have?" Wagner questions. "Alot of it is starting with this, understanding that's a demographic that we need to reach out to, and we need to be very intentional about bringing in, so that's something we'll continue to work on." 

Missouri Western's "Grow Your Own" program received massive support from the community in the survey with 82% of those surveyed supporting the effort. 

The positive increases, members of the Community Alliance believe, can be attributed to something you don't see often in communities- collaboration.  

Wagner says many of the different groups in the Community Alliance have really bought into what is being done with the 2040 plan.  

"Because I think at the end of the day, we all want to make St. Joseph a better place, we all believe in that adage bloom where you're planted, and you have to be very intentional about doing that," Wagner explains. "And if we weren't aligned, we wouldn't be having the successes we're having because we would all be working individually." 

Wagner says together the Community Alliance is really having a positive impact and are achieving some great things.

St. Joseph Community Alliance survey shows improved results for first time since 2010

WASHINGTON —The ESOP Association represents the interests of millions of Employee Owners and their companies across the nation.&nbsp;

On May 18, the organization honored Eagle Communications Chairman Gary Shorman for a career spent helping to grow employee ownership in America, with the Michael Keeling Founder’s Award.&nbsp;

The award honors an individual for their contributions to the founding of Employee Stock Ownership Programs (ESOP) and for working to elevate awareness of the benefit and value of ESOPs.&nbsp;Eagle Communications has been an employee-owned company since 1998 with employees now owning 100 percent of the company.

The award was presented at the organization's Annual Awards Ceremony during The ESOP Association’s National Conference in Washington, DC.&nbsp;

The Founder's award was created upon Michael Keeling's retirement from The ESOP Association after 28 years as President. The organization only presented this award one other time, and that was to the founder himself.

"Shorman has set a lifelong example we can all be inspired by," the ESOP Association stated. “Shorman has been a passionate advocate while serving on the organization's Board of Directors, and worked to create the organization's Silver Tsunami video series to encourage ESOP formation."&nbsp;

"It has been an honor to serve the ESOP association and be recognized with this award," said Shorman. "Helping build the Eagle ESOP and being a champion for employee owned companies has been rewarding. Employee ownership creates a unique business environment where everyone shares in the success and shares in the growth of their company."

"Shorman also chaired the organization's search committee for the first leadership transition at TEA in nearly three decades. He chaired the Association during COVID, led the way as we modernized our Board governance procedures, and has helped direct more than one hundred thousand dollars to the Employee Ownership Foundation."

"Any one of these things would be worthy of recognition, but together they exemplify a special dedication to ESOPs and future ESOP formation."

The annual awards honor excellence and achievement in the ESOP community and the people and companies that make significant contributions to The ESOP Association’s cause and membership.

Saltwire.com says China’s Ministry of Commerce urged the U.S. to “carefully handle economic and trade relations with Taiwan.” 

The U.S. Trade Representative’s Office recently announced that the U.S. and Taiwan reached an agreement on the first part of their 21st Century trade initiative. 

The agreement covers customs and trade facilitation, regulatory practices, and small businesses. The pact is not expected to alter goods tariffs, but supporters say it will tighten economic bonds between the two nations and open up the Chinese-claimed island to more U.S. exports. 

It will also improve the ability of the island nation to resist Chinese economic coercion. China reacted angrily to the Taiwan president’s recent meetings with high-level U.S. officials, including Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy. The announcement came just ahead of trade meetings between the U.S. and China.

Two sources told Reuters that the White House will review the EPA’s final rule. 

The plan would have given EV automakers credits for charging vehicles using power generated from natural gas or methane. 

The threat of potential lawsuits also could have played a part in the postponement. The initial proposal last November could have generated as much as 600 million tradeable credits in 2024 and 1.2 billion in 2025. Prices for equivalent biofuel credits have recently traded over $2 each. 

The two sources also say the Biden Administration is still hoping to pass a final rule on the EV program before the end of 2023, even if it gets uncoupled from the yearly blending mandates. Biden is boosting the EV industry in an effort to reduce carbon emissions.

EPA to recommend delaying electric vehicles biofuel program

USDA and the Department of Homeland Security celebrated the dedication and ribbon-cutting of the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in Manhattan, Kansas. 

This facility is the first of its kind in the U.S. 

It offers the highest level of bio-containment laboratories and safety protocols and will allow scientists to study and diagnose critical animal diseases. 

“America’s farmers, ranchers, and consumers count on our researchers to understand, monitor for, and develop solutions to combat a variety of high-consequence animal pathogens,” says Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack. A facility of this magnitude positions us to respond.” 

The valuable scientific information delivered by researchers at NBAF will also allow America to remain a leading contributor of countermeasures that will protect agriculture, economies, and citizens across the globe. 

A USDA news release also says it’s a historic investment for agriculture and our nation in ensuring the health, safety, and security of the U.S. food supply.

ATCHISON COUNTY—A Kansas man accused of theft in January is back in jail for the third time in as many months.

On Wednesday, police arrested 34-year-old Thomas C. Jones of Atchison,&nbsp; on a District Court warrant for failure to appear in court, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

In January, he spent time in the Atchison County Jail for alleged theft and for a bond violation in March, according to online jail records. He was also jailed for skipping court in April.

Kansas man in jail for 3rd time in 3 months

A local radio host will be out on location today, helping raise money for a summer camp that helps kids with cancer have a normal summer experience.&nbsp;

JoeTown 107.5's Gregg Lynn has been hosing an annual RadioAThon for 19 years, only not being on location one year during the coronavirus pandemic. &nbsp;

Lynn says he was introduced to the camp during a media day, and after feeling the infectious spirit of the kids and counselors, he wondered how he could help.&nbsp;

"And of course, money helps, it costs I think it's up to about $1,500 per camper now to send them to camp, that's the cost between running the campground and insurance and all the costs of camp," Lynn tells KFEQ/St. Joseph Post. "So, every little bit we can raise, if we can send 10 kids, if we can pay for 15 kids, then that's just super."&nbsp;

The first RadioAThon was hosted in 2005, raising $10,700 in 12 hours.&nbsp;

Lynn says the money raised will help with things like food and drinks, but also many of the activities the kids will get to do while at camp. &nbsp;

By MATT PIKE&nbsp;St. Joseph Post&nbsp;A local radio host will be out on location today, helping raise money for a summer camp that helps kids with cancer have a normal summer experience.&nbsp;JoeTown 107.5's Gregg Lynn has been hosing an annual RadioAThon for 19 years, only not being on location one year during the coronavirus pandemic. &nbsp;Lynn says he was introduced to the camp during a media day, and after feeling the infectious spirit of the kids and counselors, he wondered how he could help.&nbsp;"And of course, money helps, it costs I think it's up to about $1,500 per camper now to send them to camp, that's the cost between running the campground and insurance and all the costs of camp," Lynn tells KFEQ/St. Joseph Post. "So, every little bit we can raise, if we can send 10 kids, if we can pay for 15 kids, then that's just super."&nbsp;The first RadioAThon was hosted in 2005, raising $10,700 in 12 hours.&nbsp;Lynn says the money raised will help with things like food and drinks, but also many of the activities the kids will get to do while at camp. &nbsp;"There's crafts and things for the kids to do, they have a hair salon for the kids where they can come and do that sort of thing, they put on a prom and bring in a DJ, they have things like bounce houses and things like that," Lynn explains. Gregg Lynn's Radio-A-Thon for Camp Quality is today

St. Joseph native and amateur golf legend Brad Nurski was humbled when he found out that he’ll be officially inducted into the St. Joseph Area Sports Hall of Fame later this year.

"Gratitude, honored and all of those big words you associate with something like this," Nurski told KFEQ Radio. "It's just a special thing. After years of hard work, it's very gratifying and I'm very thankful to the St. Joseph Sports Commission for the honor."

Nurski is one of 10 individuals who will be inducted into the<a href="https://stjosephpost.com/posts/320ce7c8-c79f-47e2-9538-334e99873ea6">&nbsp;St. Joseph Area Sports Hall of Fame</a> on August 27.

One can argue Nurski started making his case for the Hall back in his Benton High School days, where he was a four-time MEC Conference Champion in the mid 1990s. Mike Ziesel coached Nurski in both basketball and golf. Ziesel could tell even then - special things were in store for Nurski.

"He definitely was one of, if not the best golfer that came out of Benton High School," Ziesel said. "I mean, you've seen all of the accomplishments he's made since then."

Nurski says Ziesel likely taught him the most valuable lessons on the basketball court.

"As far as basketball goes, (Ziesel) is very well respected in that regard," Nurski said. "He was very instrumental in being a good basketball coach, but also a good leader and person you can look up to."

Nurski went to Missouri Western, where he was a three-time All-MIAA selection and All-Region twice. He also became the first Griffon to qualify for NCAA Regionals as an individual. He was later inducted into the Missouri Western Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013.

Nurski is now a 14-time Fairview Club Champion, seven-time St. Joseph Country Club Champion and winner of 13 local club invitationals. He’s won 10 Missouri Golf Association Championships, including the Missouri Amateur three times - most recently in 2018.

Nurski has competed many times nationally and internationally, including a runner-up finish in the USGA Mid-Amateur in 2014. He was one spot away from the Masters.

"In 2014, I lost in the finals," he said of that tournament. "I was very close to making the Masters, but it just didn't go my way that day. That's another experience you can take and put in the memory bank for the rest of your life and lean on that experience to continue to get better."

Nurski is still active in his career. He competed for Team USA in the prestigious Concession Cup this past year at The Real Club Valderama in Spain, helping the Americans win in come from behind fashion.

Nurski also started his coaching career last year. He was named the assistant men’s and women’s golf coach for Missouri Western, helping the women’s team and men’s golfer Marius Dosiere to NCAA tournament berths this past spring.

Nurski says he and head coach Matt Thrasher have high hopes for the future. Perhaps that’s no coincidence, since Thrasher also played golf and basketball under Coach Ziesel in the South Side back in the day.

"We're just going to continue to get better," Nurski said. "Matt's mentality is the same as mine. We don't like to lose. I think that kind of comes from Coach Ziesel, honestly. The South End mentality."

Four years later the sisters decided to dig up her remains to place them under an altar in the chapel.&nbsp; &nbsp;When unburied, her tomb was found with a crack down the middle, and her body intact and appearing to be incorrupt. &nbsp;Sister Lancaster's body is on display until Monday, May 29th, and people of the Catholic faith have been flooding to Gower to witness it, touch, and pray with the body. &nbsp;Bishop James Johnston of the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph released the following statement regarding Sr. Wilhemina:&nbsp;“The condition of the remains of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster has understandably generated widespread interest and raised important questions. At the same time, it is important to protect the integrity of the mortal remains of Sister Wilhelmina to allow for a thorough investigation.&nbsp;I invite all the Faithful to continue praying during this time of investigation for God’s will in the lives of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles; for all women religious; and all the baptized in our common vocation to holiness, with hope and trust in the Lord.”&nbsp;

'Miracle in Missouri' happening in Gower

ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect who is in custody Atchison.

On Wednesday, police arrested 42-year-old&nbsp;Shalamar A. Allen, of Minneapolis Minnesota, on a Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in court, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

He remains in custody on a $750 bond, according to online jail records.

USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service will end data collection for the 2022 Census of Agriculture on May 31. 

Producers who have not yet returned their completed questionnaires have just one week left to respond. 

Federal law requires everyone who received the ag census to complete and return it. 

Recipients can respond online at agcounts.usda.gov or by mail. NASS Administrator Hubert Hamer says, “Not being represented in these widely used data means risking being underserved.” 

USDA NASS is reminding ag census recipients that if they produced and sold $1,000 or more of agricultural product in 2022, or normally would have produced and sold that much, they meet USDA’s definition of a farm. 

However, landowners who lease land to producers, those solely involved in conservation programs, and even those who may not have farmed in 2022 are still required to respond. USDA will release the results in 2024. To learn more about the Census of Agriculture, visit nass.usda.gov/AgCensus.

Last chance to complete the 2022 Census of Agriculture

Along with a move to the north side of Rosecrans Memorial Airport, members of the 139th Airlift Wing are also awaiting word on if they'll be receiving new jets.  

The 139th has applied to upgrade the current C-130 H Model aircraft to the larger C-130 J models.  

Commander of the 139th Colonel John Cluck says currently it's wait and see as they proceed through the selection process.  

"It's over now to, at some point, the director of the Air National Guard for the country will make a decision, I think St. Joe is the perfect candidate, I think we're in a very solid position where we're going to go there," Cluck tells KFEQ/St. Joseph Post. "We're just working this through, if not selected we'll continue until we are selected, we're not going to lose we're going to keep going until we get what we need." 

That effort has received support at the state level.  Missouri US Senator Josh Hawley led the Missouri Congressional Delegation in sending a letter to the director of the Air National Guard, in support of the base receiving eight C-130 J models.  

Cluck says what that means to him is that the state of Missouri is not going to rest until new jets are at the base. 

"We have been a leader in, not only just the functional mission, but we're also the training platform for all tactical flying for all the mobility air force platforms," Cluck explains. "So, he knows that the J model will continue to secure the 139th in St. Joe for generations to come, and we really appreciate the Senator's support." 

Cluck says the newer planes will allow the base to take on some larger mission sets 

"Other things we can do with them extends our ability to continue to do the work of not only the state of Missouri, but basically the US Air Force," Cluck says. 

As for the move to the north side of the airport, Cluck says currently six buildings have been completed and the design of a ramp to park aircraft on is underway. 

Cluck adds that it clearly takes time to make this kind of move, and you don't move up in a week, but says with the request for the upgraded planes these changes are necessary.

139th Airlift Wing still waiting for upgraded planes, appreciative of Senator support

SEATTLE (AP) — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with state and federal agencies, are investigating reports of 18 salmonella infections in at least half a dozen states that may have come from raw cookie dough sold at Papa Murphy's.

People have been sickened in Missouri, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah and California <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/enteritidis-05-23/index.html">the CDC said Tuesday.</a> Illnesses were reported from Feb. 27-May 2.

Interviews with sick people show that raw cookie dough sold at Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake pizza stores may be contaminated. People reported eating the cookie dough raw, the CDC said.

Six people in Washington, four in Idaho and four in Oregon have become sick, according to the CDC’s website. Utah says two people have become ill there. California and Missouri have each reported one sick person linked to the outbreak.

Two people have been hospitalized, although their location was unclear. No deaths have been reported.

The number of sick people is likely higher than the number reported, and the outbreak could extend to other states, CDC officials said.

The take-and-bake pizza company — based in Vancouver, Washington — has temporarily stopped selling their raw chocolate chip cookie dough and s’more bars dough. Although a picture of desserts, including cookies and s'more bars, could be seen on their website Tuesday, those items were not available to order.

People who have the dough in their homes should throw it away, and items and surfaces that may have touched the dough should be washed in the dishwasher or with hot, soapy water, according to the CDC.

Investigators are working to identify the contaminated ingredient in the raw cookie dough.

Most people infected with salmonella develop diarrhea, fever and stomach cramps six hours to six days after being exposed to the bacteria. The illness usually lasts four to seven days, and most people recover without treatment, according to the CDC.

Children under 5, adults 65 and older, and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to have severe illness.

CDC: Salmonella outbreak in Mo. linked to Papa Murphy's cookie dough

Missouri Western State University has named the new leader of the Law Enforcement Academy on the St. Joseph campus. &nbsp;

Lonnie Bishop, a veteran of the Buchanan County Sheriff's Department, will lead the academy beginning on June 16th. &nbsp;

“The Law Enforcement Academy is an important way that we serve the region, training the people who keep our communities safe, so finding the right person to serve as commander is vital,” Missouri Western President Elizabeth Kennedy says in a news release.&nbsp;

“Lonnie Bishop’s extensive experience in law enforcement and training as well as his demonstrated leadership abilities will serve our cadets and our community well.”&nbsp;

Bishop has been an investigator with the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department since 2014 and has served as a part-time instructor in the Law Enforcement Academy since 2021. He retired as a captain in the U.S. Air Force after a combined 20 years of service in the Air Force and U.S. Navy. He has Bachelor of Information Science and Master of Information Science Management degrees from the University of Phoenix.&nbsp;

"My goal is to implement three core values at the Academy: compassion, integrity and knowledge," Bishop says. "I am most excited about working with the cadets and using my prior experiences to continue to grow the Academy." &nbsp;

Missouri Western names new leader of Law Enforcement Academy

An annual event hosted by the St. Joseph Police Department will help show kids the importance of police officers and how they can help. &nbsp;

The Cops Who Care Kids Camp will be held July 17th through the 21st.&nbsp;

Interim Police Chief Dave Hart says the camp is a great opportunity for kids to build relationships with the city's officers&nbsp;

"The kids have an absolute blast, they do a bunch of sports, and on top of that they'll do demonstrations, when and how to call 9-1-1, fire safety, crime scene investigation, other educational programs, so we try to kind of mix it up," Hart tells host of the KFEQ Hotline Barry Birr. "It's for 9–13-year-old kids so if we did all educational it'd be lost on them."&nbsp;

Hart says the camp is very popular and even draws some kids back multiple times. &nbsp;

"We've had some repeats, they come back because they have such a good time, and it's just a good little bit of structure that's also focused on having fun, and it's been a good program for us," Hart says.&nbsp;

Hart says kids will do various sports activities and get the chance to learn about some of the day-to-day operations of a police officer during the camp. &nbsp;

Hart says the focus of the camp is to help humanize the badge and the position of a law enforcement officer.&nbsp;

"To make kids comfortable in talking with the police and try to break down any barriers that are there," Hart explains. "If you can interact with somebody as a person, that changes it."&nbsp;

By MATT PIKE&nbsp;St. Joseph Post&nbsp;An annual event hosted by the St. Joseph Police Department will help show kids the importance of police officers and how they can help. &nbsp;The Cops Who Care Kids Camp will be held July 17th through the 21st.&nbsp;Interim Police Chief Dave Hart says the camp is a great opportunity for kids to build relationships with the city's officers&nbsp;"The kids have an absolute blast, they do a bunch of sports, and on top of that they'll do demonstrations, when and how to call 9-1-1, fire safety, crime scene investigation, other educational programs, so we try to kind of mix it up," Hart tells host of the KFEQ Hotline Barry Birr. Annual kids camp helps build relationships with law enforcement officers

The American Farm Bureau Federation signed two more memoranda of understanding with two agricultural equipment manufacturers. 

The new MOUs were signed by AGCO and Kubota, providing farmers and ranchers the right to repair their own farm equipment. 

The MOUs, negotiated independently with each manufacturer, follow similar agreements AFBF entered into with John Deere and CNH Industrial Brands earlier this year. 

The four MOUs cover roughly 70 percent of the agricultural machinery sold in the United States. AFBF President Zippy Duvall says, “These agreements represent ongoing efforts to ensure farmers have access to the tools necessary to keep their equipment running.” 

The MOUs set a framework for farmers and independent repair facilities in all 50 U.S. states and Puerto Rico to access AGCO and Kubota manuals, tools, product guides and information to self-diagnose and self-repair machines, as well as support from the manufacturers to directly purchase or lease diagnostic tools and order products and parts.

New Right to Repair MOUs bring industry coverage to 70%

The Department of Agriculture Monday announced an effort to help rural communities to address some of their immediate needs and foster long-term economic growth. 

USDA is providing loans and grants to help people living in rural and Tribal communities in the Rural Partners Network access good-paying jobs, improved infrastructure, affordable housing and quality health care. 

The funding will support 52 projects in Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, West Virginia and Puerto Rico. 

In the West, the funding will help Tribal communities improve water and wastewater services and bring solar power and other forms of renewable energy to Tribal lands and farms. 

For people in Southern communities, projects will increase access to fresh foods in high-poverty areas and allow electric cooperatives to connect thousands of people to power with smart-grid technologies. 

The announcement includes $394 million in awards from USDA that will benefit communities and support their long-term visions for strong, local economies.

USDA to bring jobs and improved infrastructure to Rural Partners Network

GRUNDY COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 7p.m. Monday in Grundy County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Dodge Ram driven by a 17-year-old Laredo boy was northbound on NE 110th Avenue two miles south of Galt. The driver lost control of the pickup. It skidded off the west side of the road and overturned and the driver and passenger were ejected.

Grundy County EMS transported the driver and a 15-year-old girl from Galt to Wright Memorial Hospital. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
