She was born July 8, 1940, in St. Joseph, Missouri to John and Hazel (Mayer) Shafer. Sonja was a member of Odd Fellows and The Rebekahs, American War Dads and Auxiliary. She retired from Mead after 25 years then later volunteered at the Food Pantry and Youth Center in Ivy Bend, Missouri. Sonja enjoyed getting her nails done, garage sales, bowling, playing pool and spending time with her family.

She married Joseph Goldsmith Owens, Sr. on December 25, 1964. He survives of the home. She was of the Baptist faith.

&nbsp; Donna Boultinghouse Blackman, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022. She was born on July 2, 1936 in Joplin, Missouri to Arthur and Elizabeth (McNeill) Boultinghouse. She graduated from Riverton High School in 1954, then attended Pittsburg State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Art Education in 1959. She taught art for a while before becoming a social worker for the Division of Family Services for the State of Missouri.

Donna enjoyed camping, gardening, drawing, attending powwows, writing mystery romances, and building dollhouses. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Elizabeth Jean Daniels; and former spouse, Robert Lee Blackman. She is survived by her daughter, Perrin Blackman and her best feline friend, PeachFuzz.

&nbsp; Phyllis E. Lynch, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022. She was born January 14, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Frank and Theresa (Schwoei) Warmuth. She graduated from Divine Savior High School in Milwaukee. She married Albert Lynch on July 3, 1965. He preceded her in death in September 1991. She married Claude Lynch on May 20, 1995. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2022.

Phyllis worked as a CNA for 30 years, first at Sisters Hospital and then at Heartland Regional Medical Center. She retired from Heartland. She liked to bowl and play tennis. She was the life of family get-togethers. Phyllis came to cheer at her children’s sports activities, and she was also an avid Green Bay Packers fan who never did forgive Brett Favre for retiring. Phyllis was best known for her trademark laugh. People would find her at the hospital by hearing her laugh.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert and Claude; her parents; stepson, Robert Lynch; and siblings, Frank, Betty, Marie, Don, Arlene, Joe, Carol, Barbara, and Diane. She is survived by her children, Cindy Hampton (Bobby Miller), Paul Priebe (Jennifer), Milley Carr (Brad), and Bryan Lynch (Gidget); stepchildren, Donna Thorne (Emmett), Delores Geiler (John), Catherine Boone (Daniel), and James Lynch (Kathy); step-daughter-in-law, Russet Lynch; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Warmuth; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

&nbsp; Bob Pryor, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Fillmore, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022. He was born July 28, 1929, in Andrew County, Missouri to Joe and Lona (Burns) Pryor. Bob married Bonita Grace Bauman January 17, 1953. She preceded him in death November 13, 2021, after 68 years of marriage. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated with his wife, Bonita, Bob and Bonita’s Café and Bob’s Phillips 66. He later worked as an independent dump truck contractor and at Fender Trucking.

If you knew Bob, then you know he never kept still for too long. He loved the lake life, boating and spending time with friends. He had a love of music and dancing, especially the jitterbug in his younger years. Bob was also a car enthusiast and had an obsession with buying and selling cars. He basically brought the fun to ordinary events, even work. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Joe “BJ” Pryor; sister, Dora Elizabeth “Aunt Sis” Ramsey.

&nbsp; Gloria A. McKinley, 68, passed away on February 8, 2022, at Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas. Gloria was born in Springfield, Illinois on November 15, 1953, to June R. and Adorline D. (Kuhnest) Lee. She married Arthur L. McKinley on July 18th, 1977. They shared 43 years of marriage. To this union were two sons Richard and Ernest.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Arthur; sons, Richard (Roxanne), and Ernest; father, June Lee; siblings, Tom Lee, Dennis (wife, Cathy) Lee, Ted Lee, Terri (husband, Mike) Perkins; grandchildren: Kaeleb, Abigail, and Anayla. &nbsp; Delores Ann Hendrix, 90 years of age, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 6, 2022 with her family by her side. Heaven will be smiling as Delores greets her family and friends who are waiting to welcome her to her new home. Delores was born on March 22, 1931 to Robert Earl Lemar and Jaunita (Miller) Lamar at home near Bigelow, MO. She graduated from Craig High School in Craig, Missouri in 1949 and then attended Gard Secretarial School in St. Joseph, Mo.

On September 17, 1950 Delores married Richard Ray Hendrix of Mound City, MO and they made their home in St. Joseph. Delores was a member of Brookdale Presbyterian Church and in 2000 they renewed their marriage vows there with a host of relatives and friends in a beautiful ceremony. They had a loving marriage and Ray passed away on February 15, 2011. To this union there were born four sons.

She was an accomplished seamstress, making the boys’ clothes when they were younger. She loved working in her garden, with flowers, sewing, bowling and doing genealogy of her and Ray’s family. Delores worked at J.C. Penney’s for 26 years, retiring in 1993. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son. Rodney Dean Hendrix passed away on February 15, 2020.

The survivors are her sons, Raymond Leroy (Regina) Hendrix of Ocala, Florida, Robert Lynn Hendrix of St. Joseph, MO, Michael Allan (Debra) Hendrix of Oklahoma City, OK; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Jeanne Young of Mound City, MO and two brothers, Earl (Bub) Lamar of Topeka, KS and Wayne (Ardelle) Lemar of Onalaska, WI. She was born January 1, 1951, in Maryville, Missouri to parents, Keith and Lois Constant, and resided in and near Sheridan, Missouri until 1983. Linda graduated from Sheridan High School in 1969, and from Northwest Missouri State University in 1974.

On July 8, 1972, she was united in marriage to Eugene Keats. They farmed in the Sheridan area for ten years, then moved to Stewartsville, Missouri. Linda was a person who loved to give to others. She was a master craft person creating hundreds of handmade crafts to be given for gifts, donated to charity, or used to adorn her home. She sponsored a child in Children’s International for 13 years, made 100 crocheted teddy bears for the Missouri Highway Patrol, was a dedicated sponsor of the EWTN Catholic Television Network, a die-hard New York Yankee baseball fan, a faithful Catholic as a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Maysville, Missouri., a good friend to many people, and a loving wife to Eugene for over 49 years.

&nbsp;Melanie (Euler) Drake, 72, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Monday, February 7, 2022.&nbsp; Melanie was born on July 7, 1949 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Everett Sr. and Gladys (Weigant) Euler.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was a lifelong resident of Wathena.&nbsp;&nbsp;Melanie started her teaching career at Wathena High School, then taught for Bode Middle School for over 25 years. After retiring she taught part time for Riverside schools in Elwood.&nbsp;

Melanie married Jim Drake on August 24, 1968 in Wathena, Kansas. He survives of the home.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers; Jack and Everett Jr. Euler, sister, Maxine Sklenar, a niece, Kim Euler and a nephew, Brian Reipen.&nbsp;

She was born February 6, 1950, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Greg and Loretta (Pankau) Pankiewicz. Mary married David L. Clevenger May 27, 1972. She attended Missouri Western State University in 1970, where she met her future husband to be. She later graduated as a Medical Records Technician from Kansas City Research Hospital.

Mary was a member of Central Christian Church. She enjoyed gardening, animals, cross-stitching, crafts, and spending time with her family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; numerous beloved animals. &nbsp; Patrine J. Kennedy, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022. She was born February 14, 1933 in Barnard, Missouri to Emil and Patrine (Melsepth) Beahler. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1951, then attended Platte Business School. Pat married John J. “Jack” Kennedy on March 23, 1953 at St. Patrick Catholic Church Rectory. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2016.

She was an admissions clerk at Methodist Hospital, then later worked at Heartland Health. She retired from Heartland. Pat was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Society there. She loved music and square dancing, and was an avid card player. She enjoyed collecting porcelain dolls. Pat loved family gatherings and liked to bake. The family will miss her angel food cake with strawberries.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jack; her parents; daughter, Patricia “Patty” Robbins; and siblings, Howard Beahler, Bob Beahler, Frederick Beahler, and Francis Daily. Tyler was a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended Highland Community College. He enjoyed fishing with his uncles, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

Kay Jones, 78, of Weston, MO, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in K.C., MO.  Kay was born December 9, 1943 in St. Joseph, MO to Harlen Brooks and Verda Pauline (Vandrell) Carter.  She was a lifelong resident of Weston and a 1961 graduate of the West Platte R-II High School.  Kay married Noel Dee Jones on November 1, 1960 Miami, OK.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weston and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

  Kay was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Noel Dee; and a son Joey Dee Jones.  She is survived by her children James Keith (Veda M.) Jones and Sis (Hank) Nussbeck; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, with 1 on the way; her siblings Tooley, Dwight, and George Carter; and numerous extended family and friends.  Following cremation, a visitation will be held 2:00 – 3:30 p.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston; followed by a 3:30 p.m. memorial service. Ivan Eugene Gatton, age 74, was born January 25, 1948, in Leon, Iowa, the son of William Julian &amp; Iva Violet (Billings) Gatton and passed away February 1, 2022, in St. Joseph, Missouri. On December 15, 1968, Ivan married the love of his life, Jackie Jane (Younger) and to this union three children were born.&nbsp;

Ivan was a Christian man who enjoyed doing research on Christianity. He was a gifted craftsmen and spent many years doing carpentry. He had and interest in cars and when not in the house putting together a puzzle, you could find him in the garage working.

Preceding Ivan in death was his parents; two sisters, Violet Robison and Joyce Gatton; three brothers, Bill, Howard and Richard Gatton; and granddaughter, Kristen.

Survivors include his beloved wife of the home; Jacqueline “Jackie” Gatton, three children, Melody (Kevin) Taylor, Scott (Deania) Gatton and Laurie (Cody) Ross; siblings, Charlie Gatton, Lynn Oliphant, Carol McDonald, Sherry Lohr, and Willa Minshke; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Williams on October 12, 1988; mother, Mary Elizabeth McDaniel on November 26, 2021; and father, Roylee Williams in October 1999. &nbsp; Stephen “Wolfie” Young, 72, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born January 10, 1950 to Floyd and Dorothy (Smith) Young. Steve was a 1968 graduate of Central High School and attended Missouri Western State University. He married Denise White on June 29, 1974.

Steve worked for Ford Motor Company as an electrician supervisor. He was a member of Cathedral Catholic Church of St. Joseph, Missouri, Charities Zeredath Lodge-No.189, A.F. &amp; A.M., Moila Shrine and Moila Country Club, UAW Local #545 Electrician Union. Steve was past Commodore of the St. Joseph Outboard Motor and Yacht Club. He was a car enthusiast and cherished his Ford Mustangs.

Steve enjoyed coaching and watching his sons play hockey throughout their childhoods. He loved to play golf, boat on the Missouri River, and spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Kevin Young. Survivors include his wife, Denise of the home; sons, David Young (Tasha), Allen, Texas, Scott Young (Lindsey), Walnut Creek, California; grandsons, Reichen Young, Latham Young, Crew Young; brothers, Leslie Young (Vickie), Curtis Young (Barb); sister-in-law, Cheryl Young, all of St. Joseph, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Gene was also a member of the Atchison County Young Farmers and Lions Club. He enjoyed collecting cars and antique John Deere Tractors. Gene didn’t know a stranger and could talk to anyone and would do anything for anyone especially if you had pie and ice cream. Gene married Dorothy Driskell of Weston, MO, on September 23, 1961. Gene is survived by his wife Dorothy of sixty years of the home. &nbsp; Delbert R. Boatright, 73, lifelong Atchison resident, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, February 3, 2022, at his home in Atchison. A memorial service will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 10, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Atchison with Rev. Brad Greene, officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of service on Thursday at the church. The family suggest memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Cremation care is under the direction of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Delbert was born in Atchison on December 14, 1948, the son of Charles and Mildred (White) Boatright. Following graduation from Atchison High School, Delbert served his country in the US Army and was honorably discharged in February 1973. Delbert worked for the Pillsbury Flour Mill plant in Atchison for 14 years and then went to work at the Lansing Correctional Facility as a Corrections Officer for 16 years, retiring in 2004. Delbert was a member of the First Christian Church of Atchison. He enjoyed photography, traveling and he and Diana traveled to many campgrounds throughout the years. Delbert and Diana Wilburn were married on November 13, 2002, in Atchison. Survivors include his wife, Diana Boatright, of the home; two daughters, Heather Jones, Atchison and Meghan Eyman, Mound City, MO; three stepsons, Barry (Dawn) White, Port Orchard, WA, Raymond (Shuntell) White, and Leland (Colleen) Spencer, Topeka, KS; brother, Gary Boatright, Muscotah; 8 grandchidren; 8 great grandchildren. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob, Kenneth, Larry, Mike and Ed; sister, Earlene.&nbsp;&nbsp;
