Roberto Gonzalez, 63, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

He was born on July 23, 1959, in Havana, Cuba. He was raised by his mother, Mirtha Magdalena.

He grew up in Cuba, and eventually moved to the United States as a refugee. He worked as a residential painter for several years.

Roberto enjoyed his morning coffee with extra sugar, going for walks, painting and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He helped raise his granddaughter, JoJo “Chunky Chunky”, and especially loved spending time with her. He was always there for his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Cristina Gonzalez, Jessica Gonzalez and Sara Gonzalez; grandchildren, Carmine, Aleah, Cyia, JoJo, Timmy and Royel; the mother of his children, Deborah Flores, and extended family and friends in Cuba.

Katherine Jane Gilbert 1945 - 2023

A bright light left our world when Kathleen Anne Haag, 94, passed away on March 22, 2023. She was born March 16, 1929, to parents Henry and Eva (Rooney) Studer. Kathleen was raised on the farm south of Fairview with her four siblings.

She attended Fairview schools and graduated in 1946, with the honor of Valdictorian, from Fairview High School. She obtained certification to teach school at different times from both Emporia State and Marymount College, Salina. She taught in Satanta, KS and Fairview, KS schools.

Throughout her childhood, she attended St. Augustine Catholic Church south of Fairview with her family. At age 12, she became the organist at church. As an adult with her own family, she continued to be an active member and organist.

Kathleen married Jesse Haag on June 5, 1950. They lived in Fairview and owned the Haag Locker. They had three children: Kim, Karen, and Annette.

Kathleen worked in Fairview—many years at the Locker plant and in later years at Farmers State Bank. She was an involved member of the Fairview community and served on the Fairview School Board 1963-1966.

She moved to Hiawatha in 1973 and made her home and worked there for 50 years until she passed. She was a member of and organist for St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Kathleen performed many volunteer activities, a couple being as a Gray Lady at the hospital and at the North Brown County Food Bank.

Kathleen was a musician her entire life; a master of the organ and piano. Throughout her life she gave piano lessons to hundreds of students. She played for hundreds of weddings, funerals, and community events. She could sit down at the piano and play a song by heart. She did this up until her last illness.

Kathleen was a kind, friendly, happy woman. She was generous, a hard worker and the best mother ever. If you knew her, you knew that she had spunk and moved about quickly for such a tiny lady. She was witty and boy was she intelligent. She loved to have a good political discussion. She ran for the Kansas Legislature around 1984 but was not successful. She was a member of the Brown County Democrat organization.

Kathleen faithfully served and worshipped as part of her Faith. God rest her soul. All her questions are now answered.

Kathleen is survived by her children: Kim (Paige) Haag; Karen Scott; and Annette (Johnny) Sellars. Grandchildren: Ian (Audrey) Haag, Dana Haag, Shawn Scott, Emmet Sellars, and Molly Sellars, and 5 great grandchildren. One brother, Raymond Studer, and family members too numerous to name.

She is predeceased by her parents Henry and Eva Studer; siblings: Eileen (Studer) Haefele, Henry (Bud) Studer, Jr, and Alyce (Studer) King; and granddaughter Elizabeth Scott.

Visitation will be held at Chapel Oaks on March 28, 5:30-7:00 pm, prayer service at 7:00 pm and Rosary at 7:15 pm. The funeral Mass will be at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Hiawatha, KS, on March 29 at 10:30 am. Burial following at St. Augustine Catholic cemetery, Fidelity, KS.

Maysville, Missouri…Brian Lee Littlejohn, age 59, was born March 5, 1964 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Arley and Marrianne (King) Littlejohn, he passed away March 22, 2023.

Brian was a graduate of Lafayette High School and He worked for over 25 years for Envision Tech Inc. in St. Joseph, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and grilling and smoking meat. Most of all, Brian loved the time he spent with family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Penny Littlejohn; and stepdaughter, Ali LeMunyon.

Vicki Lynn Campbell, age 64, of Atchison, Kansas, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her children and sister.

A visitation with the family will be on Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 4-6:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Atchison Humane Society, KC English Bulldog Rescue or American Legion Baseball and may be left in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom cremation care has been entrusted.

Vicki was born on August 2, 1958, in Atchison, Kansas, the daughter of William L. Blair and Betty (Redmond) Blair. She attended schools in Atchison and graduated from Atchison High School in 1976.

Vicki was very stubborn about going on a date with him, but she finally did and a year later she married the love of her life, Dale Lee Campbell, on July 3, 1981, in Cimarron, KS. They shared many great years together and were inseparable as a couple; they ate lunch together every single day and worked side by side at their construction company. She worked several jobs before taking over Campbell Decorating where she ran the store for over twenty years while also taking care of the clerical work for Atchison Construction. She continued her role in Atchison Construction for the rest of her life.

The most important part of Vicki’s life was her family. Her life revolved around her husband Dale and her sons, Andrew (Katie), Matthew (Lindsey), her daughter Rebecca; and her grandchildren, Larken, Cooper, Callum and Brooks. She did not miss a single sporting event and she spoiled them endlessly. She loved her grandkids so much that she would even get out in the cold to attend their events. The memories that they made together as a family are endless and always included the family dogs. She loved to fish and enjoyed taking her kids fishing with her.

Vicki and Dale always wanted to become foster parents, so she did so a few years ago and gained her bonus daughters, Myka and Makyla. She is also survived by her siblings, William (Teri) Blair and Karen Hall and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale and two nephews, James Blair and Shawn Hall.

Datha Margaret (Frans) Roberts, 104, of Savannah, Missouri passed away Wednesday March 22, 2023 in St. Joseph enjoying listening to music from her favorite local singer, Josh Daniels of Grant City. She was born May 24, 1918 in Easton, Missouri daughter of Lucian &amp; Beulah (Lewis) Frans. 

She married Stanley Roberts on August 12, 1948 and they made their home on a farm near Stanberry, Missouri. She enjoyed being around her friends, going to dances where her favorite local musicians played, and celebrating her birthdays with an annual motorcycle ride. 

Datha was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Roberts, her parents, sisters, Alma Stephens, Virginia Morris, and brother, Kenneth Frans. 

She is survived by son, Ronald (Fawn) Roberts of Hollister, MO, grandsons, Troy (Danette) Roberts and Gregg (Myrna) Roberts of St. Joseph, former daughter in law, Irene (Roy) Walker of St. Joseph, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Datha's life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Benedictine Living Community of St. Joseph and Freudenthal Hospice for their care and support.

Ronald Conkling, 54, Clarksdale, Missouri, passed away in his home surrounded by his family and friends on Monday, March 20, 2023.

He was born September 14, 1968 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Kenneth and Helen (Dunham) Conkling. He graduated from Mid-Buchanan R5 High School.

Ronald married Audrey Tarnell Landrum on March 28, 1987. She survives of the home.

Ronald loved his wife, his children, and his 7 grandchildren. He enjoyed working with his business partner and beloved friends, Marty and Marla Weets at Marty’s Auto Service.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Kay (Dunham) Conkling, grandparents, Lloyd and Bethel Conkling and James and Maxine Dunham.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Audrey Tarnell (Landrum) Conkling, daughter, Amber Conkling (Kaylen and Kira Conkling); son, Brandon and April Conkling (Audrey, Elijah, and Lucas Conkling), son, Jake and Montana Conkling (Kalvin and Scarlett Conkling) his father; Kenneth Conkling, and brother, David Conkling.

Charles C. Carr Jr., 83, of Hiawatha, formerly of St. Joseph, Mo., passed on March 20, 2023, after suffering a stroke in 2021.

He was born September 9, 1939, in St. Joseph, one of two children 
born to Charles Sr. and Mildred Shaney Carr.&nbsp; Charlie graduated from 
Central High School in 1957 prior to graduating from St. Joseph Junior 
College and attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, 
MO. He served 4 years in ROTC in high school and in the Missouri Air 
Guard, St. Joseph. His working career included Bankers Dispatch and 
Kansas Gas Service, retiring after 43 years of service.

Charlie married Susan Corwin (deceased) later divorced.&nbsp; Their 
children survive:&nbsp; Catherine (Steve) Seitz, Kelly (Luther) Ganieany, C. 
Clayton (Kim) Carr, Sam (Lynn) Metzger, John B Carr-Metzger.

He married Cheryl Wills and they later divorced.&nbsp; He married Gail 
(Adolph) Coker in 1989.&nbsp; They enjoyed traveling together and exploring 
steam engines on the railroad and excursion trains. They both spent 
countless hours volunteering at the Brown County Genealogical Society in
 Hiawatha where he was the handyman.&nbsp; &nbsp;She survives.&nbsp; He inherited (his 
favorite phrase) these children:&nbsp; J. Damon (Denise) Coker, Laura Coker, 
Alan (Kristy) Coker, and Lynne Coker.&nbsp;

Also surviving is a sister Charlene Sauceman, two nephews and a niece, 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren,

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter Johna Coker.

Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m. Friday, March 31, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Catholic Cemetery, Valley Falls, KS.&nbsp; Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl will officiate.

Military honors will be a courtesy of Grahem-Herbers Post #3084, VFW of Valley Falls.

Following graveside services, visitation and lunch will follow at 
Kendall Community Room, Valley Falls where everyone is invited to join 
the family

Charles C. Carr Jr. 1939 - 2023

Florence Mary (Schneider) Peterson, 95, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Florence was born May 17, 1927 to Alfred and Elsa (Mandler) Schneider, Cosby, MO. She lived in the Cosby-Clarksdale area all her life.

She married the love of her life Marion (Bob) Peterson on March 19, 1948. They were married 69 years.

She loved the outdoors and working on the family farm – gardening, flowers, and milking cows or wherever she was needed.

She graduated from Savannah High School and was a member of the Cosby Zion United Methodist Church.

Richard “Dick” Allen Borchardt, 79, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023.

He was born February 14, 1944 to Dr. Elmer A. and Lucile (Carder) Borchardt in Lindsborg, Kansas.

He received his degree in Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northwest Missouri State University.

Dick married Donna K McLarney on April 2, 1970.

He worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 19 years. He later worked for Defense Finance and Accounting for 14 years until Retirement.

He was a member of Abdallah Shrine in Overland Park, Kansas. He was also a previous member of Moila Shrine.

Dick enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching sports and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Elmer A. and Lucile Borchardt; and brother, Charles Borchardt.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Borchardt; sons, Matthew (Becky) and Rick Borchardt; grandsons, Parker and Gage Borchardt; extended family.

Richard Delaine Janulewicz, 84, was born and raised in Grand Island, NE. Richard passed away peacefully at his home in Platte City, MO on March 20, 2023, with his wife of 30 years, Connie, and other family members by his side.

After his graduation from St. Mary’s High School in Grand Island, NE, Rich joined the US Air Force. He completed his training as a jet mechanic in San Antonio and Amarillo, TX and then continued his military service at Mt. Home AFB in ID as a B-47 jet mechanic. His crew received the Boeing Service Award for most on-time takeoffs. He was a member of the American Legion for 34 years.

Following his military service, Rich attended Kearney State College in Kearney, NE where he majored in Biology and Chemistry and graduated with a BA in Education. He then attended graduate school at the University of Idaho, where he majored in Bio-Physiology and was a member of two honorary fraternities Phi Sigma (Biological) and Sigma Xi (Research). He graduated with a Master of Science degree.

Rich worked at a variety of jobs as a teacher, an auto mechanic, an iron worker and as a senior scientist at an engineering firm. Rich found his calling when he began working in Health Sciences. During his 30-year career in Public Health, Rich worked for the Nebraska State Health Department as a Health Inspector for 14 counties out of Grand Island, NE and was then hired to initiate a Health Department in Norfolk, NE which he accomplished and managed for six years.

In 1979, Rich was hired as the Director of Health for the City of St. Joseph, MO, where he also served in various government roles including City Manager. In 1983, Rich was appointed as Director of Health for the Clay County Health Department, in Liberty, MO, where he served for 20 years and received Missouri Senate and Missouri House of Representatives commendations and resolutions upon his retirement.

Upon retiring in 2003, Rich continued to live an active life traveling, writing three books, enjoying time with his family, fishing and helping his wife, Connie, manage End of the Trail, a Native American Arts, Crafts and Jewelry Store in Weston, MO. He was a lifelong NE Huskers fan and attended games as often as possible.

Rich is preceded in death by his parents, Steven Michael Janulewicz and Cashmere Delphine (Spotanski); sister, Patricia Ann Janulewicz; granddaughter, Kaitlynne Sue Behymer and two Air Force brothers Irven Lasley and Russell Reason.

Survivors include his wife, Connie (Russell) Janulewicz of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Shawn Michelle Janulewicz of Albany, MO; stepsons, William Robert Behymer II (Susan) of Kansas City, MO, Michael Sean Behymer (Jennifer) of Grafton, MA, and Christopher Chad Behymer (Liza) of Surprise, AZ; sisters-in law, Linda (Russell) Borders, Alicia (Russell) Moon (Chris) and brother-in-law James Russell (Marlene); grandchildren, Aeriel McDonald, Kayleigh Swan, Tyler Behymer, Kayla Behymer and Allyson Behymer and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Rich is also survived by two Air Force brothers, Allen (Pete) Peterson and Richard Aug.

Rich maintained a life-long interest in Native American people and dedicated many years of his life to cultivating both friendships and documenting traditions of various tribes. He published a book, Brave Hearts and Their Cradleboards a Pictorial Review documenting the history of cradleboard makers from numerous Native American tribes. The Acoma Pueblo is honoring Rich with a ceremony of prayers and singing in the traditional Acoma way.

Betty S. Key, 82, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023.

She was born on March 20, 1941, to John and Pearl (Le Roy) Lucas in Jonesboro, Arkansas. On June 14, 1959, she was united in marriage to William H. Key. Together, they served as Salvation Army Officers in the southern territory for many years.

She was a dedicated member of The Salvation Army in Kansas City, Kansas for several years and loved being a part of the church. She enjoyed attending the New Beginnings group meetings. After moving to St. Joseph, she became involved in the Women’s Ministries group.

Betty enjoyed camping trips with her family, fishing, doing puzzles, and cheering on her favorite sports teams: the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Royals and the KU Jayhawks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, James “Jimmy” Lucas, and grandson, Brian Key.

Survivors include her children, Major Ronald Key (Major Laura) of St. Joseph, MO; Cheryl Key Peirce (Donald) of Springtown, TX; and John Key of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, George “Sonny” Lucas of Hot Springs, AR, 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on January 28, 1944, to Earl and Viola Griffin. She married Butch Suesens in Savannah, Missouri in 1992, who preceded her in death.

Jackie was a mother and a grandmother first and foremost. She never knew a stranger and if she met one, they quickly became family. Giving to and helping others were her greatest passions and she found them in whatever she did. She not only put all of these qualities into her family, but she also shared them throughout her careers as a babysitter and a bus aide.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy (Leroy) Robertson, of Savannah; son, Dean (Kimberly) Malotte of Platte City; stepchild, Brandy (David) Gabriel of Savannah; grandchildren, Blake Robertson, Nathan Malotte, Raymond (Linsey) Burton, Justin (Beth) Malotte, Kailena (Joshua) Stuber, Camarae (Taylor) Malotte, Makaela Gabriel, and Lacey Gabriel; siblings, Earl Jean (Emma) Griffin, Sondra (Ken) Snapp, and Gloria (Les) Waller; seven great-grandchildren, and dogs, Sassy, Lucy and Ally.

Charles C. Carr, Jr., 83, of Hiawatha, formerly of St. Joseph, MO, passed on March 20, 2023 after suffering a stroke in 2021.

He was born September 9, 1939, in St. Joseph, one of two children born to Charles Sr. and Mildred Shaney Carr. Charlie graduated from Central High School in 1957 prior to graduating from St. Joseph Junior College and attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, MO. He served 4 years in ROTC in high school and in the Missouri Air Guard, St. Joseph. His working career included Bankers Dispatch and Kansas Gas Service, retiring after 43 years of service.

Charlie married Susan Corwin (deceased) later divorced.&nbsp; Their children survive:&nbsp; Catherine (Steve) Seitz, Kelly (Luther) Ganieany, C. Clayton (Kim) Carr, Sam (Lynn) Metzger, John B Carr-Metzger.

He married Cheryl Wills and they later divorced. He married Gail (Adolph) Coker in 1989. They enjoyed traveling together and exploring steam engines on the railroad and excursion trains. They both spent countless hours volunteering at the Brown County Genealogical Society in Hiawatha where he was the handyman. She survives. He inherited (his favorite phrase) these children:&nbsp; J. Damon (Denise) Coker, Laura Coker, Alan (Kristy) Coker, and Lynne Coker.&nbsp;

Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m.&nbsp;Friday, March 31, at St. Mary’s Immaculate Catholic Cemetery, Valley Falls, KS.&nbsp; Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl will officiate.

Following graveside services, visitation and lunch will follow at Kendall Community Room, Valley Falls where everyone is invited to join the family.

Earl Martin “Smarts” Manley, 75, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023 at his home in Weston, MO. Martin was born January 10, 1948 in Kansas City, KS to Earl William and Nellie Anna (Large) Manley. 

He was a 1966 graduate of the West Platte R-II High School in Weston. He was later drafted by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict; and served as a radio operator. Upon returning home, Martin began working as a heavy equipment operator for K &amp; S Construction of Parkville, MO. He later worked as an electrician at Fort Leavenworth; finally working full time at Munson Hospital, retiring around 2017. Martin was a former member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. &amp; A.M. #53, and Moila Shriners. He loved to play golf with his friends, and was an avid K.C. Chiefs fan, and had season tickets for many years. 

Martin was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Cathy Willis Manley. 

He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Lewis; his sister Donna Hartfelder; his brother Bill (Lisa) Manley; his former wife, Dawn Newberry; his nieces, Madison and Carrie; his nephews Ryan and Aaron; and his 3 granddaughters, Sage, Ivy, and Bella. 

Following cremation with a private inurnment in Graceland Cemetery in Weston, there will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date.

Earl Martin "Smarts" Manley 1948 - 2023

Jason “Cletus” William Wright passed away on March 17th, 2023. Born December 13th, 1971, to Edward and Diana Joyce Wright. Jason was a lifelong resident of Weston. 

He loved the town, the people, and the friends he made throughout his life. He attended West Platte High School where he was involved in many clubs and activities and was a talented athlete in multiple sports. Jason briefly attended Northwest Missouri State University, and found that his true talents lay in working with his hands. 

As a tradesman and craftsman, Jason took pride in his meticulous work in carpentry and finishing the detail in homes. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything with an engine on it. Jason could usually be found hunting, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. He loved his animals and couldn't turn away any that showed up at his doorstep. He enjoyed singing, dancing, and having a good time.

 He was proud of his cooking skills and often shared his favorite dishes with friends and neighbors. Jason had a big laugh, a great smile, was always kind and the definition of ornery. 

Jason is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Wright and Diana Joyce Wright. 

He leaves his brother, Jimmy Wright; his sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jerod Rigdon; his aunt, Teresa Wright; his uncles, Ronnie Wright; Maurice Craig; Philip Craig his nieces and nephews, Abbey, Brady, Kole, Bryleigh and Thane, and his extended family members both near and far. 

He was loved, and will be missed by his many friends. Graveside Services Friday, March 31 11:00 at Mount Bethel.

Deborah K. “Debbie” Allen, 69, Cummings, Kansas died Thursday February 16, 2023.

Visitation with the family will be March 25, 2023 from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to Atchison Humane Society and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Debbie was born December 18, 1953, in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of James and Mildred “Pat” Searcy Igoe. She attended and graduated from West Platte High School.

Debbie and James L. Allen were united in marriage in August 31, 2001, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She formerly worked for American Business Forms in Leavenworth, Kansas then Lockwood business Forms in Atchison, Kansas; Performance Printing in Kansas City, Missouri, Beneficial in Leavenworth, Kansas and then CMOP in Leavenworth, Kansas.

Debbie enjoyed planting flowers, tending to her garden and baking.&nbsp; She was famous for her cakes and brownies. She had a love for all animals and was selfless in her giving to her friends and family. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, James “Jimmy” Allen of the couple’s home; two daughters, Christy (John) Schnieders, Kansas City, MO; Deanna Manning, Atchison, KS; six grandchildren, Ethan (Jess) Schnieders, Kennedy (Jackson) Smith, Cole (Aubrianna) Gavin, Fallon Schnieders, Kayelee Manning, great grandson, Tru Schnieders, sister-in-law, Susie Burge, nephews, AJ, Blake Burge, Linda McCaslin and other extended family and friends.

Patricia L. Gigstad, 72, of Nortonville, KS died unexpectedly on Monday, March 20, 2023, in Wichita, KS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS with Rev. Jeff Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in the Nortonville Cemetery, Nortonville, KS. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Patricia was born on Feb. 14, 1951, in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of George O. and Leona M. (Windscheffel) Gigstad. She was in the first graduating class of Jefferson County North High School in 1969. She earned her RN degree from Stormont Vail School of Nursing, Topeka, KS in 1972. Pat worked her entire nursing career at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Leavenworth, KS where she worked in the Operating Room. Patty was an avid reader with a huge library of books, loved traveling, learning about history and genealogy, spending time with her dogs and the extended family she loved so much. Patty was known for her compassion for others and was often called for medical advice or to help someone who was ill, and she never declined. She was the expert on all things “Gigstad,” and was the architect of the Centennial held on the farm her grandparents homesteaded in 1920. She loved JCN sports when her nephew George was playing and KSU sports. Patty had a quick wit and a distinct laugh that will be sorely missed. Survivors include a sister, Katherine Gigstad, Platte City, MO and a brother, Dwight (Shawn) Gigstad, Nortonville, and a nephew George Gigstad, Nortonville. Her parents preceded her in death.

Patricia Louise Gigstad 1951 - 2023

Rose M. Stanton Foster passed away on March 19, 2023. Rose was the fourth of ten children born to Guy and Flora Lemasters on April 26, 1931.&nbsp; Rose married Charles Dale Stanton on July 3, 1948. They had four children; Gail Pike (Darrel), Bill Stanton (Carol deceased), Vernon Stanton (Jeannie), Jackie Miller (Dannie).

She and Dale owned and operated a farm and owned Shelter Insurance Agency until his passing on March 1, 1972.

Rose married Robert Foster on November 19, 1980. They owned ERA Realty for eight years. Bob survives at their home in St. Joseph, MO.

Rose also worked at Whitakers, P.W.D #2, sold real estate, and was shareholder and secretary of St. Joe Title for 14 years. Rose was also a very active volunteer in many organization. She was an active, longtime member of Agency Christian Church.

Rose's favorite past time was spending time with her family; having all 40 members every Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Rose is survived by her children, ten grandchildren: Mary Jo Burns (Todd), Kurt Stanton (Paige), Ryan Pike, Mindy Sasser (David), Jeannie Mizell (Brian), Billy Stanton, Julie Boeh (Ed), Skyler Free (Paul), Dylan Miller, Colby Miller (Alyssa); fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one stepson, Bryan Foster (Paula), six step-grandchildren; sisters Lois Ochse (Charles), Daisy Middleton (Jim), Donna Rian (Eddie), and Linda Older.&nbsp; 

She was preceded in death by her husband Dale, two brothers and three sisters.

She was involved with Savannah Avenue Baptist Church and was baptized there. She also volunteered at InterServ.

Christina enjoyed playing Bingo in Wathena, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Eckard; sister, Judy Triggs; grandchild, Alexander; and grandmother, Lolita DeHart.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Harper, Jr. (Colleen) and Colby LaFave; grandchildren, Tristan, Elwood and her step-granddaughter; siblings, Karen Lopez, Marylen Miller (Howard), and Janet Eckard; numerous nieces and nephews.

Juanita Rose Files, 91, St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Maysville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023.

She was born September 21, 1931, in Weatherby, Missouri to Ora Ann (Brown) and Glenn Helms.

Juanita married Manley Files on September 7, 1952, in Weatherby, Missouri; he passed in 2020.

Juanita and Manley owned and operated many businesses in the Maysville area. Juanita was an avid golfer and played in many tournaments in Northwest Missouri.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Survivors include son, Tom Files; daughter, Cynthia Bradshaw (David); grandson, Dylan Bradshaw; sister, Virginia Norman; sister-in-law, Hazel Files; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
