Virginia Rose Beal, 95, of Mound City, Mo, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Tiffany Heights Care Center.

Virginia was born on Feb. 12, 1928 in Maryville, Mo. to Robert and Beulah (Mounts) McGinness, the sixth of nine children. Virginia graduated from Horace Mann High School.

On April 6, 1946 she married John Beal in Lawrence, Kansas, and they became parents of two daughters.

Virginia was an active member of the Mound City First Christian Church, serving as a Sunday school leader and as a member of the Circle of Ruth. She belonged to P.E.O. for more than 70 years and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a 4-H club project leader and served as Holt &nbsp;County YEA. &nbsp; Virginia was honored as the Grand Marshal for the 4th of July parade and Senior 4th of July &nbsp;Queen. &nbsp;She was a long time member of the Shiloh Extension Club. Virginia was known for her generous spirit and never ending pledge of stewardship. &nbsp;She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and spending time with family.

Preceding her in death was her husband, John, in 2012; son-in-law, David Dalbey; sister-in-law, Barbara Hays; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth (JoAnn) McGinness and Marlin (Pearl) McGinness; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly (Richard) Goff, Lois McGinness, Roberta Leeper Richey, Roberta’s first husband Marvin Leeper and her second husband Glenn Richey, Doris (Don) Willsie, and Shirley Louden Couch, Shirley’s first husband Marshall Couch and her second husband Terry Louden.

Survivors include her daughters, Christie Beal of Lakewood, Colorado and Becky Dalbey of Burlington Junction, Missouri; brother, Bob (Connie) McGinness of Maryville, Missouri; grandchildren, Trish Dalbey, Angie (Dave) Mowbray, and Jeff (Michelle) Dalbey; great grandson, Dalton Mowbray; nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Services: Tuesday, October 24, 2023, 11:30 am, Mound City First Christian Church. Family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 am at the church. Interment: South Bethel Cemetery. Helen Edith (McClure) Farmer, 85, of Monett, Missouri went to meet her Lord on October 19, 2023. &nbsp;She lived in St. Joseph all her life until 2017 when she moved to Monett to be close to her daughter Cherielea; who took wonderful care of her and spent many, many hours with her.

Helen was born September 10, 1938, the middle daughter, to Floyd James and Claudia Marie (Perry) McClure. &nbsp;She married Currie Eugene Farmer in 1958 and later divorced. &nbsp;They had two daughters, Cherielea Smith (Albert) of Monett and Chelle Adkins of Kansas City. &nbsp;She has three grandchildren; James Sisney of Independence, Nicole Walker (Jeremy) of Cassville, Mollea McDonald (Donnie) of Monett and five great grandchildren; Kaydence, Breanna, Izyk, and Denver Walker all of Cassville, and Laella McDonald of Monett and &nbsp;Lewis Sisney of Independence and great great grandson Rayden Harrison of Monett.

Helen graduated from Lafayette High School and Platt College of Commerce in St. Joseph. &nbsp;She was employed at Heuman Dental Laboratory, Bartlett Mortgage Company, Hoover Company, First Baptist Church and American Family Insurance from which she retired. &nbsp;She also served several years at the voting polls.

Helen was a member of New Site Baptist Church and a former member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church, where she served many years as a greeter. &nbsp;She organized the LMN (Lord's Middle Navigators) Group at First Baptist Church and Mature Christian Singles Group at Wyatt Park Baptist Church. &nbsp;She was a former member of Eagles Auxilary, Lovers Lane American Business Women Association, where she was Woman of The Year. She loved playing cards and belonged to several card &nbsp;groups. &nbsp;She was a former member of Toastmasters, Parents Without Partners, St. Joseph and Kansas City Western Swing Square Dance Clubs, Writer's Guild and the Reunion Committee of Lafayette High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two sisters Margie McClure and Catherine Seals and her significant other James MacDonald.

Justin Curtis Stubbs passed away in Kansas City, MO on October 18, 2023, unexpectedly and to the great sorrow of his family and friends.&nbsp;

Justin Curtis Stubbs was born to Ralph and Barbara Stubbs of Edgerton, MO on March 4, 1985 at Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville, MO. He was raised on the Stubbs’ family farm alongside his older sister Sara. Justin graduated from North Platte High School in 2003. When not playing sports or in school, Justin played an active role on the family farm and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. After graduation, Justin attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he studied agriculture. He was a member of FarmHouse Fraternity and established many lasting friendships. Justin returned to Liberty, MO where he was fortunate to find wonderful roommates, friends, and neighbors. He developed a love and skill for dealing poker and was a valuable employee at Harrah’s and Ameristar for many years. Most recently, he was with Orizon Aerostructures as an IT specialist, a position that he valued very much. His easy nature and loving sense of humor won him many friends and colleagues.

Justin enjoyed so much out of life. Justin found a love of deer hunting that he shared with his father, and a love of mushroom hunting that he shared with his mother. He was a regular at his niece’s softball games. He loved enjoying Chiefs football with his friends. Justin rarely missed a family vacation. The memories made and love shared extend far beyond this space and earthly life, and he will never be forgotten. Justin is survived by his parents, Ralph and Barbara Stubbs, his sister, Sara Stubbs Lange (Matthew), and their children, Olivia and Charlie; his paternal grandmother Elaine Stubbs, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, B.H. and Bonnie Goodlet, and his paternal grandfather, Curtis Stubbs.

The Stubbs family would like to extend the deepest gratitude to his medical team at St Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute and St. Luke’s South Hospital, true heroes in their profession.

Paul "Allan" Pool, 80, passed away at home, as he wished, on October 16th, 2023. His wife of 54 years, Janet, and daughters were with him as he transitioned into a place of peace.&nbsp;Allan had a robust life, with a broad range of milestones. He grew up in a rural area of Missouri - loved basketball and exploring the countryside. After high school graduation, he went on a summer-long wheat harvest, traveling from the Canada border to New Mexico in a modified school bus, working for various farmers. He always had a smile on his face as he described this period - lots of hard work; and his first time exploring this much of the country. And more than a few crazy stories!&nbsp;&nbsp;After the wheat harvest, he entered the US Army. He completed 2 enlistments - one in Korea and Germany; and, one in Vietnam, proudly serving during the Vietnam War. Upon honorable discharge from the Army, Allan utilized the GI bill to earn his college degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Missouri.&nbsp;&nbsp;What came next was a vast career spanning 30 years. He established the first clinic to treat chronic pain east of the Mississippi in East Lansing, MI; built a rehabilitation center and sports complex for Sparrow Hospital System in Lansing, MI (something he would do again for Westview Hospital in Indianapolis); treated countless patients in all manner of need; and, progressed in positions from staff Physical Therapist to executive leader within the hospital.&nbsp;&nbsp;After he retired, Allan became affiliated with many organizations in the Indianapolis area, including Indianapolis Lodge 669; member of West Side Chapter No 138; Forrest A Wakeman Council No 110; the William G Bray Commandery No 65 Knights Templer; American Legion and VFW.&nbsp;He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, teacher and friend. He will be dearly missed.&nbsp;He is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Faye Pool, and sister, Marsha Pool. He is survived by his wife, Janet; daughters Julia Pool and Jennifer (Jason) Duey; grandchildren Brianna Marie Duey, Jason Scott Duey, II, and Joshua Allan Duey; brother Greg (Tess) Pool.&nbsp;&nbsp;Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Lois (Allen) Maag was a woman of purpose, packed with talent, and fueled by the Lord. &nbsp;She was driven by a spirit of motivation was not easily detoured, though she would pause to take in the beauty of God’s creation or to uplift the weary. &nbsp;

Lois attended Savannah grade &amp; High School where she won poppy poster contests and alumni essay awards. She also attended Missouri Western State College and Hillyard Technical School.

Lois was taught to play guitar by her mother at a very early age. Jammed country music where she met her husband, Allen Maag. Lois was 16 when they married. They had a son, Allen Leon Maag and a daughter, Karen Sue Maag Gibbs.&nbsp;

Lois baby sat, cleaned houses, took in ironings, sewed jackets for the Moila, baked wedding cakes and worked in the dark room and tinted photographs with transparent oils at Strathmann Studio.

She gave guitar, piano, and organ lessons in her home and at McCoy Music which became Lanham Music. She played for church, weddings, funerals, social functions and taught music at St. Francis Xavier parochial school.

She worked in the I V department at Sherwood medical, was a Kelly girl and worked at Fermenta, Maxon, and Quaker Oats in the clean up crew. She worked at Little Angels Daycare, and was secretary for Inter Faith Community Services at Calvin Center for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program which had over 600 volunteers.&nbsp;

She worked in the service department at Montgomery Ward, for the St. Joseph Telegraph and became a Certified Nurses Assistant, working in several nursing homes, specialized in care of residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

She was in Toastmasters and won first place in a Humorous Speech contest. She has directed children's choirs and was director and teacher in Vacation Bible School. She taught Sunday School and Youth Club, led women's Bible studies and prayer groups.

She wrote music and poetry and for many years as an expression of her deep faith and love for family and people. Her paintings were a continuation of that expression. &nbsp;She went on to write her mother’s story and is a published author. &nbsp;Of all she accomplished, she counted the greatest achievement teaching her family that God is Love. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Her life remained a testimony, even in the face of adversity, and during the grips of dementia. &nbsp;Though it was heart wrenching to see vision draining from a mind, she made more use of her leftover vision than some muster in a lifelong endeavor. Even in the desperation of her circumstances she believed God was in control and thanked him. &nbsp;&nbsp;

She left behind a writing on the cabinet door that reads: &nbsp;

If I should ever leave, you whom I love,&nbsp;

But laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you,&nbsp;

For who knows but that I shall be often times?

But would not grief and tears be barriers?

For I am loving you just as I always have.

So many, many things I wanted still to do –

But this I know: &nbsp;I loved you so –

She worked at Little Angels Daycare, and was secretary for Inter Faith Community Services at Calvin Center for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program which had over 600 volunteers.&nbsp;She worked in the service department at Montgomery Ward, for the St. Joseph Telegraph and became a Certified Nurses Assistant, working in several nursing homes, specialized in care of residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia.She was in Toastmasters and won first place in a Humorous Speech contest. She has directed children's choirs and was director and teacher in Vacation Bible School. She taught Sunday School and Youth Club, led women's Bible studies and prayer groups.She wrote music and poetry and for many years as an expression of her deep faith and love for family and people. Her paintings were a continuation of that expression. &nbsp;She went on to write her mother’s story and is a published author. &nbsp;Of all she accomplished, she counted the greatest achievement teaching her family that God is Love. &nbsp; &nbsp;Her life remained a testimony, even in the face of adversity, and during the grips of dementia. &nbsp;Though it was heart wrenching to see vision draining from a mind, she made more use of her leftover vision than some muster in a lifelong endeavor. Even in the desperation of her circumstances she believed God was in control and thanked him. &nbsp;&nbsp;She left behind a writing on the cabinet door that reads: &nbsp;To Those I Love,&nbsp;If I should ever leave, you whom I love,&nbsp;To go along the silent way,&nbsp;Grieve not nor speak of me with tears,But laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you,&nbsp;For who knows but that I shall be often times?I’d come, I’d come,&nbsp;Could I but find a way!But would not grief and tears be barriers?And when you hear a song I used to singOr see a bird I love –Let not the thought of me be sad,&nbsp;For I am loving you just as I always have.You were so good to me –So many, many things I wanted still to do –Remember that I did not fear,For my Savior I will see.It was just leaving you&nbsp;I could not bear to face.We cannot see beyond,But this I know: &nbsp;I loved you so –Twas heaven here with you.<figure>

He was born February 14, 1943 to John G., Sr. and Mildred (Silcott Taylor) Jimenez in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He worked as a plumber for 58 years with Local 45.

John enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Royals games. He had a sweet tooth and loved chocolate. He loved taking cruises and traveling to places like Cancun, Mexico. John was an avid Harley motorcycle rider. He was also heavily involved in Lions League Baseball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Ramona Stump.

Survivors include his sons, John Jr., and David Jimenez; grandchildren, Johnna and Jayden Jimenez; sisters, Etta Wildberger and Linda Nicholas.

He loved music and was a talented bass guitarist. He created beautiful jewelry, was a great fisherman and loved to ride his Harley.

Jamie spent a lot of time with his friends, but the most precious times were spent with his children and grandchildren. He had a huge heart, and an unforgettable smile. He made friends wherever he went and will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Bitz.

Eugene Irvin Moore, 74, known fondly as "Mean Gene", passed away on October 16, 2023, at his residence in Riverdale, GA. He was born in St. Joseph, MO, on April 27, 1949.

A 1968 graduate of Lafayette High School, Eugene's work ethic showed throughout his 30-year career at Wire Rope. In 1974, he married his beloved Joyce Lorraine Weston, and their union was a shining example of love and commitment.

Eugene was passionate about his faith and was a member of the Latter-Day Saints in Atlanta. After retirement, he found great joy working at the Georgia Aquarium. Bowling was a treasured pastime of his, and he took pleasure in the camaraderie and competition of the game. He was an antique enthusiast, and he could often be found scouring local flea markets for special treasures to add to his collection. Eugene also enjoyed traveling, as he liked experiencing different cultures and landscapes.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Lorraine Moore; children, Brandi Moore, Robyn Lovett, Lemuel Moore, Michael Moore (Lavesca), Toji Jones (Phillip), and Eugene Moore, Jr. (Yolanda). His joys also included twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is also survived by his siblings, Richard Cook (Angela), Carolyn Cook, and Mary Tillman (Ronald), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a congregation of friends.

Norma Jean Schuetz, 77, of Hiawatha, KS died Tuesday afternoon, October 17, 2023 at the Hiawatha Community Hospital where she had been a patient for a short time. &nbsp;She was previously a resident of Vintage Park in Hiawatha.

Norma was born October 21, 1945 in Falls City, NE to Cecil and Lela Wetzel Buckminster. &nbsp;She married Frank Schuetz February 3, 1963 in Falls City. &nbsp;He preceded her in death February 5, 2018.

She worked at Flair Fold Wood Fabrication Plant in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Frank and Norma would own and operate Walt &amp; Jane’s bar in downtown Hiawatha from 1975-1982. &nbsp;She then went on to earn her GED and continued her education at the NEK Technical College graduating with a Medical Office Assistant Degree. &nbsp;She worked for Hiawatha Family Practice in medical records before continuing her work with Amberwell, retiring in 2015.

Norma was a social butterfly and loved to visit with friends. &nbsp;She never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter; Paula Hartley and a sister in law; Jane Buckminster.

Survivors include a son; Alan and wife Connie Schuetz of Fieldon, Illinois, three brothers; Marvin and wife Sue Buckminster of Falls City, NE, Marc and wife Lori Buckminster of Wahoo, NE, and Richard Buckminster of Preston, NE, grandchildren; Emily and husband Spencer Banks of Topeka, KS and Kayla and husband Josh Stalker of Kansas City, KS, and 5 great-grandchildren.

Lawrencia was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Maria Quintana, her great-great grandfather, Lawrance Raymond Belair, and great-great-great grandparents, Robert and Lorene (Alexander) Jackson.

ROBINSON, KS &nbsp; Glenn D. “Bum” Garman, 67, formerly of Robinson, died Saturday morning, October 14, 2023, at Plaza West Care Center in Topeka. &nbsp;He formerly had been a resident of Highland Care Center for several years where he was known as “Brutus”.

Glenn was born &nbsp; November 28, 1955, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Lawrence Richard and Florence June Nockold Garman. &nbsp;They both precede him in death. &nbsp;Glenn also was preceded in death by three siblings: &nbsp;LaVena Marlene Garman, Richard Elon Garman and Vernon Eugene Garman.

Bum as he was known to his family and close friends, grew up at Englewood where he attended schools prior to graduating high school prior to attending vocational technical school in Kansas for welding. &nbsp;Bum later attended classes for certification for water department for the city of Goff. &nbsp;He wasn’t afraid to try any job once….to washing dishes, working at Wilde Tool in Hiawatha, auto mechanic, even driving a truck over the road for a freight company.

Glenn leaves for surviving siblings: &nbsp;Norman Garman of Colorado, Ollie Sample of Topeka, KS, Mark Garman of Collinsville, OK, and Brenda Garman of Hiawatha. &nbsp;Five children also survive: &nbsp;Stephanie Garman and Glenda Edwards, both in Colorado, a son Kenneth “Kenny” Garman in Washington, Hailey Garman of California, Harley Garman of Maryville, MO, three-step children Zeke Hughes and Wende Hughes, both in California, Patty Hughes in Kansas City; multiple grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kenneth Lee Plummer was born in St. Joseph, Missouri on December 7, 1953. He was one of five children of Kenneth D. and Mary F. (Hayzlett) Plummer. Kenneth grew up in Forest City, Missouri and lived there most of his life. He attended school at South Holt, graduating in 1972.&nbsp;

Following graduation, Kenneth attended technical school for diesel and automotive mechanics. He later received a degree in computer repairs. Kenneth was self-employed as an HVAC and appliance repair technician for many years. He had also worked at Gordon Quarries.

On September 12, 1974 he married Alice Gardner in Craig, Missouri. They became parents of two children.&nbsp;

Kenneth loved cooking, gardening, hunting, and fishing with his grandsons. He also loved hanging out with his dog, Buddy, and watching westerns and game shows. Kenneth was a member of the Forest City Christian Church and had served on the Forest City Cemetery Board.&nbsp;

Kenneth passed away at an Oregon healthcare facility on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the age of 69. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law, Karrilu Plummer; and brother-in-law, Edwin Adams.

Maysville, Missouri…Ethan Nathaniel Taylor, age 14, the son of Scott Taylor and Valerie (Sifers) Moore was born on December 1, 2008, in Liberty, MO, during a huge ice storm stranding his big brother, Slade Taylor and Meema Kandy overnight! He passed away October 15, 2023, in Maysville, MO.

Ethan attended HeadStart in Maysville for a year in a half before moving to Cameron, where he completed Preschool through his 7th grade year.&nbsp;&nbsp;He then moved to Maysville where he attended his 8th grade year and was currently in his Freshman year of high school.

In Jr. High, Ethan participated in football, basketball, and track, and was looking forward to wrestling and playing baseball on the high school team. He was a member of the Maysville FFA. Ethan loved all sports, but baseball was his true passion, which began as a small boy in t-ball. He could not wait until he was able to play in school.

Many days you could find Ethan outside at his Aunt Jodi’s with Alexavier, Chloe or even his little brother, Erickson shooting hoops or jumping on the trampoline. At his dad’s house you might see him out playing catch with his dad or brother, Erickson.&nbsp;&nbsp;Ethan also liked to go fishing and camping at Suey and Bobby Wayne’s lake.&nbsp;&nbsp;He would ride circles around Bo and Erickson on the jet skis in the middle of the lake.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was always ready for a day on the boat with Uncle Bubba and Aunt Laney at Lake Viking.&nbsp;&nbsp;He even liked to mow if it meant he got to spend the night by himself.&nbsp;&nbsp;He really looked forward to the yearly visits to the pumpkin patch, Worlds of Fun and Great Wolf Lodge with his mom and siblings.

David E. Knighton, 61, of Platte City, MO formerly of Camden Point, MO passed away, October 17, 2023.

He was born on January 31, 1962 to Charles and Mildred (Tinder) Knighton in North Kansas City, MO. He grew up in Platte City and graduated from Platte City High School in 1980. David then graduated from Northwest Missouri State University.

In 1985 he began working for KCPL/Evergy where he recently retired. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting with his father and brother and working tobacco with family and friends. Later in life he enjoyed cooking. He loved his children, and they were the most important thing in his life. He was a past stockholder in the Platte County Fair.

He is survived by his children, Adam Knighton and Hannah Knighton, both of Arvada, CO; his brother, Steve Knighton (Dana), Platte City, MO; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Janice (Buhman) Zeit, 89, of Denton, Kansas passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family.

Janice was born on April 13, 1934, in Aurelia, Iowa to Vincent and Veryle (Card) Buhman.

Janice graduated from Clarksdale, Missouri High School and earned her R.N. degree from Sisters Hospital School of Nursing.

She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church and Women’s Council, Bendena, Kansas.

Janice married Lewis Richard “Dick” Zeit on September 1, 1955, in Hurlingen, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ronda Steed, son-in-law, Steve Peters and a grandson.

Survivors include her children, Vickie Zeit, Diane Stewart (Ken), Sheryl Pierce (GE), Kirk Zeit (Kristina), Anita Peters-Strasburg (Scott) and Kevin Zeit.

Larry E. Hoffman, 69 of Savannah passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at his home in Savannah. &nbsp;He was born November 2, 1953 to Dwain Maxwell &amp; Helen Marie (Curtis) Hoffman. &nbsp;He married Lucille Elliott in Rosendale, MO on August 7, 1971 and she survives of the home.

Larry enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and motorcycles. &nbsp;He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Gary Clardy, 77, of St Joseph, MO passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care. He was born April 24, 1946 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Louise and Lawrence Clardy. He graduated from Lafayette High School, class of 1964. In 1965, Gary married Patricia "Patty" Owens in Troy, Kansas &nbsp;Gary worked many years as a Master Electrician working for Suadi Airlines and owned and operated South Park Electric. He was a member of IBEW Local #545. Gary loved to go fishing and he was a hard worker. He was proud of the time he spent in Saudi Arabia working with Saudi Airlines and enjoyed his trips to lake Viking. He was an avid collector of many things and loved his dog, Annie. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Larry Clardy. Survivors include wife, Patty Clardy of the home, daughters, Cindy (Marvin) Merritt of St. Joseph, MO, Sherry Fuston &nbsp;(Clay McCreary) of St. Joseph, brother, Dennis (Betty Beth) Clardy of St. Joseph, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.Mr. Clardy has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. Marjorie was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved and enjoyed caring for her family. She also enjoyed cooking and was deep in her faith and loved reading the bible. She was a member of King Hill Christian Church. Marjorie was preceded in death by parents, husband, William "Sonny" Leslie, Jr., children, Jim Leslie, Kathy Leslie, Judith Leslie, Mary Beth Kerns, and Jane Leslie, sisters, Jean Ann James and Evelyn Mapel and granddaughter, Nicole Hatheway. Michael Mace Sr. 73, passed away in St. Joseph, Mo. He was the 2nd child born to Charles and Wanda (Dangerfield) Mace in Charleston, WV on March 29, 1950. His father was in the Navy, so the family lived many places in his childhood. Mike lived in Kansas for many years, he married Cheryl Woehr in 1972 in Topeka, Kansas. They had a daughter Michelle Sharee. They later divorced. Michael then married Myra Richard in 1982. They had a son Michael Mace Jr. They later divorced. Mike had a strong work ethic. He worked at Payless Shoe Distribution Center until they closed the Topeka plant. He moved to St.Joseph and worked at Sara Lee until his retirement. He then enjoyed his retirement marshalling and playing golf at the Duncan Hills Golf Course in Savannah Mo. Mike was an avid sports fan and loved to play golf with his son and grandsons. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ginger Mace. Survivors include daughter Michelle (David) Maguire, Saint Joseph, Mo, son Michael (Tori) Mace Jr., Horton, KS, grandchildren; Taylor Moman, Peyton, Ellie, and Ava Maguire, Mailey and Macklin Mace. Mr. Mace has been cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest beside his mother and sister in West Virginia.

Sadie loved life, she was full of energy and gave the greatest hugs. She loved her dog Harley, was very creative, especially loved creating art and painting. Sadie loved life, she was full of energy and gave the greatest hugs. She loved her dog Harley, was very creative, especially loved creating art and painting. Sadie was preceded in death by grandparents, James Horn, Stanley and Gloria Randall. Survivors include husband, Josh Spurgeon mother and step-father, Gemi and Deacon Surritte of St. Joseph, father, Travis Randall, siblings, Alexis Cox, Courtney Morris-Randall, Jordyn Randall, Kyleigh Surritte, Ashten Surritte, Erin Bodkin, Royale Majewski, Bodi Horn, Deacon Surritte II, and Ryder Randall, grandmothers, Sandy Horn and Lana Compton, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.&nbsp;Funeral services will be10:00 am, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the ROC Fellowship with Pastor Rob Diamond officiating. Clarnell B. (Nelson) Morriss, 95, Kansas City, died Monday, October 16, 2023.&nbsp;

Clarnell was born February 23, 1928, to Clarence R. Nelson and Salena Torrance &nbsp;Nelson in Guilford, MO.

She married Virgil R. Morriss in December 1947. &nbsp;He preceded her in death in September 1993.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and stepmother Blanche Knudson Nelson; Brothers Cleo Nelson and Melvin Nelson; Sisters Maxine Nelson Lewis, Juanita Nelson Peters, Donna Nelson Adams, and Lavona Nelson Munns; Son Vincent Raymond Morriss; Grandsons James Aaron Rogers, Sherman Aaron Rogers, and Brian Scott Rogers; and her Daughter-in-law Vicki Gard Morriss.

Mrs. Morriss is survived by her children, Virgil R. Morriss (Judith), Rigby, Idaho; Bernita Morriss Rogers, Kansas City, MO; Jonell Morriss Barlow (Jim) Wathena, KS; Terry Morriss (Lourdes), Lexington, MO/and Panama. &nbsp;Brother Farrell Nelson (Sharon), St. Joseph, MO. &nbsp;Sisters: Ermel Nelson Johnson, Savannah, MO, and Marjorie Nelson Pinion, St. Joseph, MO. &nbsp;Grandchildren: Willy Morriss, Idaho Falls, ID; Steven Morriss (Becky) Rigby, ID; Teralyn Morriss, Junction City, KS; Patrick Morriss (Betty) Bedford, IA; and Stacey Rogers, Kansas City, MO. &nbsp;Great-Grandchildren Anthony, Katie (Kane), Aubree (Nick), Epiphany, Dallas; and Traxton. &nbsp;

Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and &nbsp;brothers-in-law Delmar Morriss, Garden City, MO; and, Erwin Morriss, Waynesville, MO.

Mrs. Morriss was a 1945 graduate of Guilford High School. &nbsp;She worked as a homemaker and many years at Pioneer Cap Factory in Stanberry, MO, until it closed. &nbsp;She then worked at Parkdale Nursing Home Laundry in Maryville, MO and cooked at Barnard Restaurant. &nbsp;Following her husband’s death she moved to Kansas City and worked well into her 80s as assistant manager at her apartment complex. &nbsp;

Clarnell was a member of the Guilford Community of Christ Church and a proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary and DAV. &nbsp;

Services for Mrs. Morriss will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, Savannah, MO. &nbsp;Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral chapel prior to the service. &nbsp;Interment will follow the service at Graves Cemetery, Guilford, MO.

Elizabeth H. "Betty"&nbsp; Waller, age 99, St Joseph, MO, died peacefully in her sleep on October 15, 2023. &nbsp;

She was born on May 13, 1924, to Leslie V. and Bessie (Thompson) Ausman in Watertown, S.D. &nbsp;Betty graduated from high school in Elk Point, SD. She earned an Associate degree from Cottey College and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.&nbsp;

Betty was a teletype operator in New York City and Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, during World War II. She taught journalism and English in Pierre, SD, and at South Holt High School in Oregon, MO. She also worked as a reporter and copyreader at the Holt County Sentinel in Oregon, for many years.&nbsp;

In 1949 she married Loren Glenn Waller at Pierre, SD. They lived in Keytesville, Salisbury, and Coffey, MO before they moved to Oregon in 1954. They moved to St Joseph in 2010.&nbsp;

Betty was a member of PEO Chapter Z, the Holiday Club, and the VFW Auxiliary, all of Oregon. She and Glenn were members of the Oregon United Methodist Church since 1954, where they sponsored the Methodist Youth Fellowship for 22 years. She was an active attendant at Ashland UMC since 2010.&nbsp;

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Glenn, who died in 2012; son, Jeff; sisters, Merry Emme and Nancy Thomas; her brothers-in-law, Marion D Waller, Ken Emme, and Jordan Thomas; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Waller.&nbsp;

Survivors include her son, Dr. Stephen Glenn Waller and Dr. Jane Ward of Centerville, MA; five grandchildren, Kerry (Ben) Dueholm of Dallas, TX; Katie Ward-Waller (David Palmer) of Greenwich, U.K.; Alex (Lindsay) Waller, Olathe, KS; Jeanie Ward-Waller of Sacramento, CA; and Chelsea Ward-Waller (Brett Woelber) of Anchorage, AK. She has six great-grandchildren: Ava and Leo Waller; Soren, Elijah, and Marina Dueholm; and Olivia Palmer; and one sister-in-law, Charlene Waller of Mesa, AZ.&nbsp;

Connie Lou Francis, 82, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was born March 10, 1941 in Andrew County, Missouri. Real Estate was her passion in St. Joseph for 45 years and was loved by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her Mother and Stepfather, Agnes and Ernie Speaker; her Father and Stepmother, Sheldon and Marie Weaver; her Son, Jeffrey Francis; her Stepsister, Vernie Ford; and her Stepbrother, Art Ford.
