Margaret Lucinda (Troxel) Hinderks, 90, of Maysville Missouri, was called home on June 18, 2025. Margaret was born August 6th, 1934, in the rural Weatherby home of her parents William Bruce and Clotilda (Gunderson) Troxel. She joined her two older brothers Charles Bruce and Gustav William and 5 years later brother Richard Eldridge joined the family.
Margaret grew up attending Crabil School, a one room schoolhouse until she began attending Maysville High School where she graduated in 1952. On April 17, 1954, Margaret was united in marriage to Roger Blair Hinderks at Bethel United Methodist church. After marrying they moved to Olathe, Kansas while Roger was on active duty with the US Navy at the Olathe Naval Air Station. After Roger left the Navy they moved to a small farm near Amity, Missouri where they welcomed their first daughter Rachel Beth on December 17, 1965. They finally settled in July of 1967 at their beloved farm west of Amity in the Wood community where they welcomed their second daughter Amy Michelle on April 10, 1969. Margaret and Roger lived on their farm for over 55 years.
Margaret was very good with numbers and enjoyed working. After graduating from high school with her “work permit” in hand she started working at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City in the bookkeeping department. She worked there until going to work at the Johnson County Extension Center first as a secretary then as a bookkeeper. The day after returning to Amity from Olathe, she started working for E.S. Juda, Jr CPA and was there until 1965. Margaret then took time off from work to raise her daughters, but she did find a way to stay in the workforce, working in the basement of their home keeping the books for the J.L. Brown Lumber Co. in Maysville. In September of 1982 until February 2000 she worked for Glenkirk Farms in Maysville. While at Glenkirk she met several dear and cherished friends. After leaving Glenkirk Farms she worked part time at the Dekalb County Courthouse until she retired in 2004.
While raising her children Margaret was active in the local 4-H club as well as being a longtime youth and adult Sunday School teacher at the Amity United Methodist church. She enjoyed working with youth. Anyone knowing Margaret knew her faith was very important to her. While growing up, her family attended Bethel United Methodist Church where she was baptized, converted and was a lifelong member. Margaret raised her family attending the Amity United Methodist Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Roger; her parents, Bruce and Clotilda; brothers, Charles Bruce, Gustav William and Richard Eldridge; niece, Christina; and sister in law, Carol (Charles).
She is survived by her daughters, Rachel Beth Fritz of Cypress, Texas and Amy Michelle (Mike) Byfield of Stuart FL, as well as 4 grandchildren, Hannah Nicole and Hunter Blair Fritz of Cypress Texas, Carter Blair and Duke Michael Byfield of Stuart Florida. Margaret also has 2 surviving sister in-laws, Nedra (Gustav), Lois (Richard) and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Stewartsville.Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
