She was born January 27, 1944 in St. Joseph, Missouri, daughter of the late Elizabeth &amp; Thomas Conroy. She married Gary Stroud on June 11, 1963, he survives of the home. She graduated from Bishop LeBlond, class of 1962, and she worked at American Family Insurance for many years. She enjoyed word search books, watching cooking shows, soap operas, and she was a huge fan of jeopardy. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids, and shopping with her sisters. 

Survivors include: husband Gary of the home, sons, David Stroud (Pam Moran) and Jeff Stroud, daughters, Lisa (Jerry) Reynolds and Tiffany (Mike) Barber all of Saint Joseph, MO, grandchildren, Josh Reynolds, Tyler Barber, Owen Barber, Drew Stroud, Ryan Sowell, Jenna Bangerter, and Kailey Bryan, 5 great grandchildren, sisters, Sharon Glantz, Cecelia Chic, and Kathy Conroy.

Douglas Raymond Witt 66, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021. 

He was born May 11, 1954 in Fort Clayton, Panama, son of the late Josephine &amp; Norman Witt. He graduated from Lafayette High School, and he received an associates degree from Missouri Western. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and worked in the Construction industry. 

He is survived by daughter, Jenifer (Caleb) LaRue, son, Justin (Meagan) Witt, sisters, Catherine Fleischer and Barb Beaty, and five grandchildren: Maverick &amp; Brady, Noah, and Kennedy &amp; Pyper. 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Wednesday with a rosary to be prayed at 5:30 pm Wednesday, at the Rupp Funeral Home. Oliver J. “T” Wright, 62, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully at the home of his son, Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

He was born February 28, 1958 in Memphis, Tennessee.

“T” moved to St. Joseph in the late 1970’s as a painter and met Bereatha “Kay” Carriger, they were later married.

He was a man known for his patience and the Papa that he was. “T” spent his last days in the company of his children and grandchildren at his request. He was also a cancer survivor.

“T” enjoyed being a handy man, listening to music, playing the Playstation, watching wrestling, cooking, but most of all being a Papa to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bereatha; mother, Lucille Wright; brothers, Howard Sledge and Robert Harmon.

Survivors include children, Melissa Carriger, Tyson Carriger (Crystal); grandchildren, Traquon Cruse, Demasjiay Cruse, Zariyah Carriger-Jones, O’Lyvia Carriger, Tyson Carriger, Jr., Bryson Carriger; siblings, Mary Wright, Annie Franklin, Ever Jean Pettis, Agnes Wright, James Wright, Jimmy Wright, Jerry Wright, Patricia Wright; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jennifer Gail Otte, 52, of Effingham, KS died on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 surround by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 1, 1976 in Atchison, KS, son of Helen (Hundley) and John Roth . He attended Benton High School. He married February Lundberg. Richie was a longtime laborer in the Construction Industry. He lived for his grandkids and always enjoyed helping others. He was also a longtime avid KC Chiefs fan.

John "Richie" Roth Jr.  1976 - 2021

Amber Dian (Davis) Bracken, St. Joseph, MO was called to her home in heaven on Feb. 9, 2021.

Amber was born November 30, 1983 to Judy (Kerns) and Jimmie Davis Sr of St. Joseph both survive her.

Amber grew up surrounded by the deep love of her close family. She was blessed to have enjoyed many years with her grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Having this rich life of love and support Amber was able to pass this on to her children. She was devoted to her family. It was her mission to make sure her children were close to one another and knew their family. Amber would have given her last breath for her children.

On March 2, 2015, Amber married the love of her life Jason Bracken. She and Jason were the perfect match. He survives the home.

Amber graduated from Union Star High School in 2002. She earned her BA in Business Administration from Colorado Technical School.

Amber is survived by her Daughter; Aubree Ann Walker, son; Alexander Henry Bracken, Mom;&nbsp; Judy (Doug) Lown, dad; Jimmie Davis Sr., maternal grandpa; Gary Kerns Sr., brothers; Jimmie (Tara) Davis, Dustin Lake, Andrew (Anne) Lown, sisters; Amanda Lown, Alexis Lown Mother-in-law Sabrina Bracken, and numerous &nbsp;aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Virginia L. Chandler, 95, transitioned to her heavenly home on February 9, 2021.

She was born April 4, 1925 in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Virginia graduated from Central High School in 1943. Her first job was with the Army Air Corps at Rosecrans Field as a bookkeeper. She later completed a 25-year career with Light &amp; Power Co retiring in 1973. Virginia was married to Clifton J. “Chan” Chandler on Nov 21, 1943 at Francis Street Methodist Church where she was a devoted life-long member. Virginia considered her church her greatest joy often mentioning that her name has been on the church Cradle Roll since her birth.

Virginia and Chan were married for 47 years and enjoyed their home in Country Club Village. Maintaining numerous friendships, traveling and involvement with the Moila Shrine Temple were highlights for them. A devoted member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 11 since 1938, she worked to honor veterans, especially her brother who sacrificed his life during WWII. Virginia remained active following Chan’s death volunteering hundreds of hours at the hospital gift shop, hospice, church and Living Community. She was awarded the Heartland Health Volunteer of the Year Award in 1994. As a tribute to the loving example of her parents, Virginia served as a caregiver for her cousins, Doris and Ethel prior to their death. She made countless needlepoint ornaments for hospice patients and her church.

Virginia was a founding member of the Silver &amp; Gold Senior Club of Northwest Missouri, where she was also an active volunteer. Virginia will always be remembered for her love and diligence to serve others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph R. and Ethel (Brasington) Harper; brother, Ralph J. Harper, and husband, Clifton J. (Chan) Chandler.

Albert Raymond “Ray” Stout, 99, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021.

He was born January 12, 1922 in St. Joseph, Missouri to William and Rosa (Stalcup) Stout.

Ray married Madeline Day June 25, 1942. She preceded him in death October 22, 2002.

He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Ray worked for Swift &amp; Company for 30 years, then later the Missouri State Highway Department for 15 years, retiring in 1985.

He was an avid fisherman and birdwatcher who also loved mushroom hunting and spending time at the Grand Lake in Oklahoma.

He was also preceded in death by his son, John Stout; parents; siblings, David Stout, Evelyn Grace, Virginia Thompson.

James "Jim" "J.D" Turner 73, of Clarksdale, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at his home in Clarksdale, MO. 

He was born July 26, 1947 in Cameron, MO, son of the late Clare and Wilbur Turner. He graduated from Easton High School and married Linda on October 18, 1997, she survives of the home. He served in the United States Navy and Navy reserves retiring in 2006 and is a veteran of several campaigns in the middle east. He retired as Captain from the Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron, after 21 years of service. He was presently working at the Northwest Missouri Pychiatric Center in St. Joseph, as a Security officer. He enjoyed fishing, camping, farming, and loved his dogs, Rex, Sadie, and Tim, he also enjoyed listening to old time country music, liked picking cowboy roses for Linda, and playing with his grandkids. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Bonnie Williams, and granddaughter, Ashley Witkowski. 

Survivors include, wife, Linda Turner of the home, children: Shannon Turner, St. Joseph, Tammy Joswick, Pete (Amy) Moutray, Stewartsville, MO, and daughter, Jennifer Moutray, Savannah, MO, sisters, Wanda (Frank) Hernandez, Betty (Gene) Hodge, Rita Turner, Carolyn Studna, Lucy (Clarence) Taylor, Judy Knorr, and Pam (Jerry) Nixon, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Helen Marie (Crews) Hahn, 75, of St. Joseph, passed away on February 8, 2021, at her home.

Born on August 19, 1945 to Jack and Ona (Eggleston) Crews in Breckenridge, Missouri. Helen attended and graduated from Breckenridge school district. Helen lived in the Hamilton area for over twenty years before moving to St. Joseph in 1988. Helen worked a variety of office jobs prior to retiring from Federal Express after many years as a customer service agent.

Helen never knew a stranger and spent much of her time hosting family and friends at her home. She enjoyed her yard and was delighted for everyone to relax and enjoy the view.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Billy, Frank, Tommy, Bobby, Opal McIntosh, Mary Jones and Sarah Berry.

Fiercely loved by those surviving her: husband Bill Hahn of the home, daughter Tam (Mike) Reed of Dearborn and Joseph “Bud” (Kimberly) Potts of Cameron, bonus daughter Teresa (Kathi) Potts of Ventura and Cherisse (Todd) Steiner. Helen was forced to text by her grandchildren: Kayle, Tyler, Dakota, Kait, Kari, Dallas, Emily, Tye Dale and Isabella. She also enjoyed her great-grandchildren: Avery, Carson, Connor, Lauren, Payton, Piper and Blakely. Helen was also blessed by a special connection with her great-grandnieces Harper and Georgia West. Helen enjoyed a large family and is survived by many nieces and nephews and in-laws.

Helen will be cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. No services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer.&nbsp;

Robert E. Cluck, 79, of Highland, KS passed away on February 8, surrounded by family.

He was born on May 19, 1941 to Harvey and Agnes (Schneiter) Cluck.&nbsp; He graduated from Highland High School in 1959 and attended Highland Community College.&nbsp; After college, he served in the Navy for two years during the Vietnam Conflict.

In 1966, he married Patricia Greenwood at St. Theresa's in Orleans, VT.&nbsp; They made their home in Highland, KS where they raised their three children Greg, Lisa, and Jarrod.

Bob was a lifelong farmer who bestowed his passion of farming to others.&nbsp; His willingness to share his knowledge and ingenuity was passed on to many generations to follow.&nbsp; His storytelling and orneriness will live on forever.

Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with family.&nbsp; He loved spending time watching his grandsons at their sporting events.

He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Sam, Fred, and Jed.

He is survived by his wife Pat, and children Greg Cluck (Aimee), Lisa Parsons (Bill Masters), and Jarrod Cluck.&nbsp; His four grandsons, Houston Cluck, Landon and Creed Parsons, and Porter Cluck, along with many others that have joined the family.

He is also survived by sisters Judy Troike and Dixie Collins (Rudy) and brother Frank Cluck (Sue), along with many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Janice Lynn Kneisley, age 62, of Hiawatha, passed away peacefully February 8, 2021 due to lung cancer.

&nbsp;She was born February 3, 1959 in Manhattan, Kansas to Bob and Sue Snyder. She was married to her husband, Kevin Kneisley, on October 23, 1993.

Her focus in life was education and teaching, spending her last 18 years working in Special Education. She was the 1st&nbsp;and 2nd&nbsp;Grade Special Education teacher at Hiawatha Elementary. In 1977, she graduated from Manhattan High School. In 1981, she earned a BS in Journalism and Mass Communication from Kansas State University. During her final days, she was working on her Masters’ degree in Special Education; She was nine hours shy of receiving her degree.

Janice is survived by her husband, her two sons Kristopher and Korey Kneisley, her mother Sue Snyder, her sisters Kathy Ylander (David) and Jackie Garibay (José). She has influenced and touched a lot of lives and she will truly be missed.

She was preceded in death by her father Bob Snyder.

A celebration of Janice’s life is planned for 2 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2021, at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha.&nbsp; Cremation will follow services with private inurnment at a later date at Albany Cemetery, Sabetha.

Jacquee Almanza, 70, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021.

She was born December 17, 1950 in Las Animas, Colorado to Franklin and Mable (Ritchie) Miller.

Jacquee married Walter Almanza September 8, 1984; he preceded her in death March 21, 2014.

She was an incredibly talented woman. She loved to sew, make quilts, paint, make china dolls, do woodworking, and cross stitch.

Jacquee enjoyed spending time with her entire family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 30 years, Walter; her parents; and sister, Nancy Kerns.

“Jack” John Peter Barclay, Jr., 91, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully from an abundance of birthdays, Saturday, February 6, 2021.

He was born January 16, 1930 in New Haven, Connecticut to John Peter and Leola Mae Barclay. As a boy in New Haven, Jack attended Hopkins School, then matriculated from Dartmouth College (1952) and Tuck Business School (1954).

Jack met the love of his life on an airplane. Billie Kissane was a lovely and intelligent flight attendant. Jack married Billie Jewell Kissane on December 12, 1967. They built their life in Saint Joseph, where they raised their two sons. She preceded him in death.

Jack’s father, J.P. Barclay, Sr., founded Wire Machinery Corporation of America in New Haven, Connecticut in 1923, and in 1931 renamed the company Wire Rope Corporation of America, Inc. The corporation and family moved to St. Joseph, Missouri, in 1950.

After two years of service in the Army, Jack served as chairman and chief executive officer of Wire Rope Corporation of America, Inc. from 1957-2003.

Jack made his mark in the community in many ways. He was a former board member and past president of Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art. He was a leading member of the organization that was responsible for the construction of the gallery (early 1990s) that makes up the major portion of the current museum. After achieving Eagle Scout as a boy, he also was a past executive committee member and board member of Boy Scouts of America, Pony Express Council, as well as belonging to the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. Jack was instrumental in the transition from Sister’s Hospital to the new Heartland Regional Medical Center, today known as “Mosaic.” He was a board member and past president of the Buchanan District of Junior Achievement of Middle America and a former council member and chairman of Profit in Education. Jack also was a former board member of the St. Joseph Country Club, Benton Club, The Saint Joseph Symphony and United Way of Greater St. Joseph.

In addition to civic activities, Jack was a lifelong enthusiast of cars and airplanes. He had his pilot’s license and flew many types of airplanes from single engine to jets. He loved watching hockey, football, tennis and lacrosse. He appreciated and collected art, and enjoyed model cars, trains and planes. He and Billie traveled extensively, often he would do the flying.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Jeffrey Stuart Barclay; and sister, Debbie Josendale.

Survivors include his children, Lee Barclay Webster, Vicky Barclay, Megan Barclay Leben, and John Peter Barclay, III; and seven grandchildren.

Sergeant George “Nelson” Gottswiller, 88, Weatherby, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021.

He was born June 14, 1932 in Clarksdale, Missouri to Amos and Glenna (Schottel) Gottswiller.

Nelson served as a sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He married Clara Rhoden February 3, 1951; she preceded him in death in 2009.

Nelson was a sergeant for the Buchanan County Sheriff’s department for over 18 years before retiring.

He enjoyed hunting with his brothers and anything that had to do with guns.

Nelson was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Clara; his daughters, Lynne, Gretchen; parents; brothers, Ermal and Dewayne.

Survivors include his sons, Craig Gottswiller (Sherry), Scot Gottswiller; 14 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was born June 12, 1950 in St. Joseph, son of Lois and George Grabill. He attended Bethany High School. Dennis was an avid fisherman, a friend to all and always willing to lend a helping hand. He also loved to spend time with his best four-legged friend, Snow. Dennis has served as Treasurer of the Blind Association, St Joseph Chapter and was of the Catholic faith. 

Dennis was preceded in death his parents. 

Survivors include, sister, Janice (David) Sisk of St Joseph, brother, Ronnie Grabill of Marseilles, IL, niece, Tonya (Don) Showers, nephews, David (Alana) Sisk, Danny Sisk, Jupiter Sisk, Vance Grabill, niece, Casi (Erin) Lee, step-niece, Sharon Slatton and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was born June 16, 1949 in St. Joseph, Missouri, and married Vernon Lawrence on July 10, 1976. She graduated from Lafayette High School class of 1969. Sharon worked at American Family Insurance for 32 years, and at Merrill for 12 years as a caretaker. She enjoyed shopping, was an excellent cook and the sweetest lady you would ever know, she had a great sense of humor, and loved her church and her grandchildren. Sharon was a member of the Grace Evangelical Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Paula Lawrence, father, Charles R. Butler, mother, Evelyn Dora Farris, step-father, Delmas Farris, and grandson, Dakota Lawrence.

He was born July 30, 1941 in Charles City, IA, son of Florence and Guy Taylor. Jim was a long time truck driver, having worked for Affiliated Foods and later Roger Powell Trucking and Jim Fender Trucking. Leonard loved raising and showing horses and mules. Having showed one of his Mules winning Grand Champion in Missouri. Leonard was of the Methodist faith. 

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents. 

Survivors include his longtime friend and companion, Cathy Sprague of Clarksdale, MO, brother, Loren (Kathy) Taylor of Quincy, IL, 2 nephews, Jason and Mark Taylor and niece, Jill Taylor.

Robert was born June 29, 1972 in Youngstown, Ohio to Ronald Lee and Ruth Ann (Winovich) Peters.&nbsp;

He had worked in the customer relations field for most of his life.

Robert married Kim Bergen on March 31, 2001 in Fallbrook, CA; and she survives.&nbsp; Also surviving are their children, Jasmine, Lance, and Karina; his extended family including numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, which live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

He attended the First Baptist Church, downtown St. Joseph.&nbsp; Robert was a member of the Sault Ste Marie tribe of Chippewa Indians.&nbsp; He was an avid Raiders fan, liked board games, and loved to fish.

Memorial contributions to a college fund for his children Lance and Karina would be appreciated.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.

Margie E. (Williams) Beggs, 86, St. Joseph MO, passed away peacefully on February 5th, 2021 at a local hospital.Margie was born on October 11, 1934 as the oldest twin daughter to Ralph L. And Juanita V, (Jenkins) Williams.Margie married Logan Beggs January 18th, 1953, and had just celebrated 68 years of marriage.She retired from the St. Joseph School District, having taught art at Lafayette High School and Robidoux Middle School. Margie enjoyed drawing and teaching others to draw, her specialty was charcoal portraits. Many homes across Missouri and Texas have walls that&nbsp; are adorned with her artwork. Singing was another of Margie's passions, just a mention of a word that reminded her of a lyric and she would break out in song, she even had her own karaoke machine. She loved to&nbsp; play dominos and cards with pitch and&nbsp; double solitaire among her favorites, but you had to pay close attention because she liked to play by "Margie" rules. Having not traveled further than Wathena as a child, she loved traveling with Logan, having been to all 50 states, but especially enjoyed going to visit her sister in North Carolina and Myrtle Beach, and her time in Texas, always striving to go back.She was preceded in death by son, Dirk, her parents, and brother Robert.Margie is survived by husband, Logan, her twin sister, Mary (Keith) Carroll, Burlington NC, son Terry (Nicole) Beggs, St. Joseph, daughters Carol (Mike) Wolf, Maysville, Mo and Delaina (Charles) Babcock, Lincoln Mo.5 Grandchildren Micah (Isaac) Hilton, Maysville, Jonathon (Tiffany)Wolf, Maysville, Morgan {Chris) Thomas, Milwaukee, WI, Carlie (Trevor) Kahler, Kansas City, Mo, and Coleman (Shelby) Babcock, St.Joseph.&nbsp;8 Great Grandchildren - Miles, Gibson {Artie), Agnes, &amp; Sylvie&nbsp;Hilton. Wyatt, Westen, &amp; Willow Wolf, and Weslie Kahler. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity (her contribution usually was in the form of shopping at the Restore on a weekly basis),&nbsp;King Hill Christian Church, or to a charity of the donor's choice.A celebration of Life will be held at a later date.<figure>
