Dwight “Big D” Ferguson, 59, Amazonia, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care.

He was born December 4, 1960 in Havana, Illinois to Thomas and Margaret (Rainey) Ferguson. Dwight married Cathy Wood December 11, 1987. She survives of the home. He was a member of the Local 110 Carpenters Union. Dwight worked for Lehr Construction for over 20 years before retiring in 2017. He enjoyed hunting, spending time at Truman Lake fishing, boating, watching NASCAR and played in a band for several years. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jason Ferguson; parents; siblings, Daryl, Diana, Douglas Ferguson, Darla Schildknecht.

Additional survivors include son, Jeremy DeSpain (Lacey Brookshier); grandchildren, Keaton, Connor and Slash DeSpain; brother, Daniel Ferguson (Anna); numerous nieces and nephews.

She was married to Joseph W. Conard on Dec. 8, 1955. They were later divorced. She was married to Charles S. Church on May 22, 1965, they were later divorced.

Donna Rae Ferguson, 76, of St Joseph, Missouri passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday October 20, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

She was born April 15, 1944 in Mount Ayr, Iowa daughter of Frances &amp; Orville Roach. Donna spent many of her working years at Sav-On Furniture and later Saxton Chateau. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, spending time with her family and especially her grandkids. 

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Millard George Ferguson in 2016, father, Orville Roach, mother, Frances Roach, brothers, Jerry Roach Sr., and Orville Roach Jr., sisters, Betty Hughes, Opel Bowen and Norma Woosley. 

She is survived by children, Stacey Johnson, Millard Ferguson Jr., Tracy Ferguson, and Sharon "Kay" McClain, all of St. Joseph, 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was born August 21, 1937 in Auburn, New York, one of sixteen children born to Joseph and Jane (Reedy) Farrelly. Jean was born and raised in New York. She joined the US Navy where she met the love of her life, Richard Berry. They got married August 21, 1959 and later raised three children. Richard preceded Jean in death on November 18, 2016.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Christopher Berry; 1 sister and 2 brothers.

Jennifer owned her own house-cleaning business, and was involved in a butterfly preservation group on Facebook. She enjoyed gardening, butterflies and playing in the dirt. She loved the feeling of dirt on her feet and hands.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Larry and Harald Lamkin; and sister, Jeanette Diane Lamkin-Briggs.

He was born May 28, 1938 in Milan, Missouri son of the late Elnora &amp; Benjamin Bonnett. He graduated from Stewartsville High School, and served in the Army. He worked at J.C. Penney, and Walmart as a Mechanic. He was an automobile enthusiast, enjoyed working on cars, and he could fix anything. 

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, daughter in law, Becky Ann Bonnett, and sister, Nancy Rimes. 

He is survived by wife, Margueritte L. She was born March 24, 1935 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Bessie and Clarence Barnes. She graduated from Benton High School, class of 1954 and attended Platt Business College. She married David Campbell on March 14, 1958, sharing a wonderful 62 years together. Barb worked many years as a Bank Teller. She enjoyed crocheting, painting art, and she loved her cats. She was a member of Three Angels Seventh Day Adventist Church. 

Barbara was preceded in death by father, Clarence Barnes, mother, Bessie Barnes, daughter, Laura Groover, brother, Harry Barnes and sister, Mary Stafford.

Robert D. "Bob" Roberts, 89 of Rea, MO, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2020

He was born September 5, 1931 to Lawrence and Opal Roberts.

Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in Korea, but his true passion was farming which he did all of his life. He also enjoyed his 2-cylinder John Deere tractors.

Bob married Joyce Reece on February 20, 1955 and his life was centered around the family that he loved and cherished. They had just recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Lawrence Carroll "Buck" Roberts and a sister Patricia Kay Roberts.

Survivors include his wife Joyce, son; Randy (Linda) Roberts, daughter; Deann (Bill) Schellhorn, grandchildren; Kurt (Darcy) Roberts, Kelly (Tim) Dolan, Ryan (Amy) Schellhorn, Scott&nbsp; (Nicole) Schellhorn, Troy (Megan) Schellhorn,&nbsp; twelve great-grandchildren, sisters; Marilyn (Wayland) Holbrook, Carolyn (Dan) Harrington, Barbara (Ken) Jones, Karen (Willy) McGaughey and several Nieces and Nephews.

"Bob" Roberts, 89 of Rea, MO, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2020He was born September 5, 1931 to Lawrence and Opal Roberts.Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in Korea, but his true passion was farming which he did all of his life. He also enjoyed his 2-cylinder John Deere tractors.Bob married Joyce Reece on February 20, 1955 and his life was centered around the family that he loved and cherished. Harold E. Mosser Jr., 84, of Elwood, Kansas died Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his home. &nbsp;

Harold was born on April 3, 1936 in Elwood, Kansas to Harold “Edward” and Veda Mae (Smith) Mosser Sr..&nbsp; He graduated from Elwood High School and lived most all of his life in Elwood.&nbsp; Harold had worked for Seitz in St. Joseph, owned and operated the Mobil Service Station in Elwood, then worked and retired from Boehringer’s in St. Joseph.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Harold is a member of the Wathena Masonic Lodge #64 AF &amp; AM, Moila Shrine and the Scottish Rite of St. Joseph and was in the Cushman Unit. &nbsp;

He married Mary Jean Schuman on June 10, 1955 in Savannah, Missouri.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on November 25, 2007.&nbsp; Harold was also preceded by his sister, Helen Jean Bennett. &nbsp;

Carol Jean Joseph, 92, of St. Joseph, formerly of Eldon, MO, died Monday, October 19, 2020.&nbsp; Jean was born January 30, 1928 in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Harold and Stella Faye (Hodge) Berry.&nbsp;

Prior to retirement she was a licensed beautician.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Jean was a member of New Life Assembly of God in Barnett, MO.&nbsp; She loved to sing hymns, study the Bible and teach Sunday School.

She married Lawrence Joseph on September 10, 1961, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter Kim Plummer (Gerald) of St. Joseph; step-daughter Laurie Seifert (William) of Roseville, CA; grandchildren, Jim Seifert of Woodlands, TX, Dan Seifert of Huffman, TX, John Plummer of Los Angeles, CA, Lorelei Burns of St. Joseph, Jeremy Plummer of Branson; seven great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Jean was a devoted wife and mother.&nbsp; She was full of life and loved having fun.&nbsp; She was very involved with all Kim's school activities as room mother and chaperone.&nbsp; Jean liked harmless practical jokes - she was like Lucille Ball.

Jean has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel of St. Joseph, MO.&nbsp; Services will be held at a later date.

God’s angels carried Don Ransom to Heaven on Sunday, October 18, 2020, at the age of 75.

Don was a graduate of Lafayette High School, St Joseph Junior College and Northwest Missouri State University where he was graduated with a BS in Science and a Master’s in Education. He spent his career of 33 years with the St. Joseph School District. 

He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, on May 29, 1966. They were blessed with three children, Elizabeth (Curtis) Zahnd, Chris (Lisa) Ransom and Lauren (Brian) Dreis. Don was Papa to grandchildren Emmaleigh and Cooper Zahnd, Jacob Ransom, Addison Carrel, Jonathan Dreis, Bree Brown, Kay (Cody)Dwyer and great grandchildren Parker, Elle and Kodi. Additional survivors include sisters-in-law Barbara East, Janis (David) Irwin, stepsister Judy (Jerry) VanVickle, and stepbrother Tom (Jane) Wells.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Don and Dora Ann and stepfather Harold G. Wells; brother-in-law Bob East, his in-laws Ernie and Margaret Hertel, and Peggy’s stepfather Clement G. Meyn.

Don’s life could be summed up in the words of a friend, “Don was such a genuine person to work with, to talk to, to play a round of golf with. He was an icon in the St. Joseph School District and had many great friends.” He was an active member of St Peter Lutheran Church and directed the church choir for 42 years. He shared his love of and talent in music in many ways and with many organizations. “Today there is less harmony on earth but a whole lot more bass in Heaven.”

Mary Helen (Smith) Barton, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020.

She was born April 9, 1932 in Troy, Kansas to Ina and Nile Smith. Mary graduated from Troy High School and then from Gard Business University. She could always beat her girls at typing and shorthand competitions. She married Russell D. Barton February 25, 1955. They later moved to Platte City and then to Kansas City where they resided until his death in 2013. Mary was a stay at home mom until she and Russell leased a Dairy Queen. She then became manager at the Raytown Dairy Queen, retiring at the age of 75. Mary’s family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed every minute spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary would take them on vacations and have overnights at her home as often as possible.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; parents; 2 sisters; and 3 brothers.

She was born April 13, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Arthur Paul and Bernice Emma (Rekate) Hoefelmann. Judith married Robert L. Klein on November 3, 1962. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1990. She retired as a registered nurse at the State Hospital in St. Joseph. Judith enjoyed her cats and her kids, and never missed one of their events.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Survivors include daughters, Kim Dilley (Russell) and Kristen O’Callaghan (Rob); grandchildren, Josh Dilley, Chris (Tiffanie) Dilley, Austin Kirschner (Tasha), Bryson O’Callaghan (Jessica), Rebecca Gabriel (Dylan), Caleb O’Callaghan, and Kaitlyn O’Callaghan; and six great-grandchildren.

She was born March 6, 1936, in Mound City, Missouri, to Ananias and Stella (DeWeese) Heckman. Frances married Carl Maxwell Jr. on July 12, 1955. He preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She was a member of Central Christian Church. Frances enjoyed spending time with her family. She was well-liked and known for her dry sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her son, Michael Maxwell (Delilah); daughter, Carla Simpson (Randy); grandchildren, Megan Dufour (Andrew) and Justin Maxwell (Jessica); great-grandchildren, Grace Dufour and Camden Maxwell; brothers Howard, Wilbert and Gerald Heckman; sisters, Beulah Ferguson and Joann Hadorn.

He was married to Geraldine K. Obermeyer on Nov. 21, 1959. They were later divorced. He was married to Linda Hanshaw in 1993. They were later divorced. Wilton Hugh Adkins, 87 of Savannah, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020, surrounded by family.

Wilton was born January 13, 1933 in Savannah, Missouri to the late Merle Columbus and Crystal Ann (Schweizer) Adkins. He graduated from Rosendale High School in 1951 and was active in FFA, State Livestock Judging Team, 4-H, Football and Softball.

Wilton was in the United States Army and served his country honorably from 1953 to 1955. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

After returning, Wilton married Beverly Jean Fothergill on June 5, 1955 at First Christian Church in Rosendale, Missouri. They had 4 children, Kathy, Susan, Connie and Randy. Wilton and Beverly dairied until 1965. He farmed the remainder of his life.

Wilton was also a substitute USPS Rural Mail Carrier, an Andrew County Judge/Commissioner for 10 years and Presiding Commissioner for four of those 10 years, a Real Estate Salesman, helped his parents with construction, and was always "The Boss."

Wilton grew up attending the First Christian Church in Rosendale, MO, and later served as a Deacon and Board Member of First Christian Church in Savannah, MO. He was a member of the American Legion Savannah Post #287, where he served as Commander of Savannah Chapter and participated as Honor Guard Firing Squad for veteran funerals. He was on the Fair Board and helped manage the race track. He was also a Project Leader of 4-H, a Democrat Committeeman, Volunteer for the County and State Emergency Management, and started Savannah Girls Softball Leagues and coached Adkins Construction Girl's Softball in Savannah, MO. They won State and played in a National Tournament.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly; daughters Kathy Yost (Don Buckley), Susan (Len) Zalenski, and Connie Blackford (Ron McNeely); son, Randy &nbsp;(Jane) Adkins; sister, Kathleen Potter; grandchildren, Jessica Yost Williamson, Vern Yost, Kathryn (Jay) Zalenski McDaniel, Amber Blackford (Robert Pickrell), Katie Yost, Austin Blackford, Michael Zalenski, Jayden Adkins Justice; great-grandchildren, Lilly Yost, Kayli Tasker, and Rylee Yost, and special family; Jimmy, Cindy, Téa, and Collin O'Rourke.

Mr. Adkins has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel. Visitation will be 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM, Thursday, October 22, at First Christian Church in Savannah, MO. Followed by a Celebration of Life at the church. Inurnment: Bennett Lane Cemetery.

She married Charles William "Bill" Kelsey and he preceded her in death.&nbsp; Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers and a sister.

Survivors include nieces, Peg Pillsbury (Norman), Diane Gibson (Robert), Carla Myers ; nephews David Heppard, Robert Heup, Steven Heup; her best friends Lea Curd and Iola Riggs; other relatives and friends.

Theodore Lawrence “Larry” Sinker, 69, of St. Joseph, Missouri died Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his home.&nbsp;

Larry was born on March 20, 1951 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Theodore and Hilda (Dalsing) Sinker.&nbsp; He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during Vietnam receiving a Purple Heart.&nbsp; Larry also served 19 years in the Missouri Air National Guard.&nbsp; He farmed, was a policeman and had worked for the US Postal Service.&nbsp; Larry moved to St. Joseph in 1987.&nbsp;

Larry is a member of the Ashland United Methodist Church in St. Joseph, life member of the V.F.W. Post #5531 in Wathena, Kansas, &nbsp;life member of the DAV, life member of the Paralyzed Veterans and NRA.&nbsp; &nbsp;

He married Mary Jane Mitchell, she survives of the home.&nbsp; Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Tedde Sinker.&nbsp;

Additional survivors include daughter, Amanda Lynn Sinker of Ord, Nebraska;

Theodore Lawrence Sinker  1951 - 2020

Highland, KS… Beverly Elaine Sisk (Potter) was born on February 4th, 1938 to Samuel Irvin Potter and Opal Potter (Taylor) in the White Cloud, Kansas area. On October 16th, 2020, she went to be with her Lord and Savior. Her mother died of complications at birth and her father died in a hunting accident when she was an infant. Bev was raised by her grandparents, George and Ella Taylor on their farm.

On August 22nd, 1955, she married Franklin (Sonny) Wayne Sisk. They spent their entire married life in the Doniphan County area. Their final years together were spent in Iowa Point, until Frank passed away on January 15th, 2003.

Beverly enjoyed gardening, cooking, raising sheep, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed her Church family also. She always spent time reading and studying the Bible, while sharing with others the Lord’s word.

Beverly was truly a hard-working woman, amazing cook, and loved the outdoors and her grandchildren dearly. Cooking and cleaning were just a few of her specialties. She was always critiquing her dishes to ensure all was just right and couldn’t get a house any cleaner. She loved spending outdoors walking, taking care of the farm, and mushroom hunting.

Her final thirteen years were spent residing with her youngest son Mike and his wife Tammie Sisk in Highland, Kansas.

Her survivors include son Curt (Jackie) Sisk, daughter Debra Sisk and companion Greg Stewart, and son Mike (Tammie) Sisk. She had eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Friends may call at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Highland from 12 noon until 6 p.m. Sunday, and after 9 a.m. Monday.&nbsp;

Graveside services are planned for 2 p.m. Monday, October 19, at the Olive Branch Cemetery, White Cloud.

Highland, KS… Beverly Elaine Sisk (Potter) was born on February 4th, 1938 to Samuel Irvin Potter and Opal Potter (Taylor) in the White Cloud, Kansas area. On October 16th, 2020, she went to be with her Lord and Savior. Her mother died of complications at birth and her father died in a hunting accident when she was an infant. Bev was raised by her grandparents, George and Ella Taylor on their farm.On August 22nd, 1955, she married Franklin (Sonny) Wayne Sisk. They spent their entire married life in the Doniphan County area. Their final years together were spent in Iowa Point, until Frank passed away on January 15th, 2003.Beverly enjoyed gardening, cooking, raising sheep, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed her Church family also. She always spent time reading and studying the Bible, while sharing with others the Lord’s word.Beverly was truly a hard-working woman, amazing cook, and loved the outdoors and her grandchildren dearly. Cooking and cleaning were just a few of her specialties. She was always critiquing her dishes to ensure all was just right and couldn’t get a house any cleaner. She loved spending outdoors walking, taking care of the farm, and mushroom hunting.Her final thirteen years were spent residing with her youngest son Mike and his wife Tammie Sisk in Highland, Kansas.Her survivors include son Curt (Jackie) Sisk, daughter Debra Sisk and companion Greg Stewart, and son Mike (Tammie) Sisk. Beverly Elaine Sisk  1938 - 2020

Edward L. “Ed” Fisher, 67, Easton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

He was born September 11, 1953. Ed married Debbie O’Brien September 22, 1973. She survives of the home. He worked as a maintenance mechanic at Ralston Purina for 12 years and Friskies/Nestle for 31 years before retiring. He was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus #5067, St. Joseph Cemetery Board, Operating Engineers Union Post #101, and Y-Fry Club. Ed participated many years in the UCP Chili Cook-off, and was part of several winning teams. He was very proud of the of the money raised for UCP. Ed was an avid pheasant hunter; enjoying opening weekend in South Dakota with his close friends. He loved gardening and canning. Everyone loved his pickled vegetables. Ed grew up on a dairy farm which established his work ethic that he continued throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Edna (Lawless) Fisher; and infant grandson, Niklaus Fisher.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Debbie Fisher; sons, Corey Fisher, Las Vegas, NV, Eric Fisher (Brittney), St. Joseph, MO; granddaughter, Prisais Fisher, St. Joseph, MO; brother, John Fisher (Terri), Stewartsville, MO; sister, Connie Webb (Bill), Gower, MO; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Easton, MO. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Easton, Missouri. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home &amp; Crematory. Prayer Service 7:30 P.M. Tuesday with a memorial video to follow, Meierhoffer Funeral Home &amp; Crematory. Bryan L. Johnson, 47, of St Joseph, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

He was born July 25, 1973 in St. Joseph, Missouri He attended Lafayette High School. 

He is survived by mother, Pamela Guyer of St. Joseph, daughter, Tylee Johnson, and other family and friends. 

He has been cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Bryan Johnson Memorial Fund, c/o Rupp Funeral Home.
