Joyce Ann Williams, 78, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

She was born May 18, 1943, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Orville and Emma (Lunsford) Banks.

Joyce was a member of Cornerstone Church in Savanah, Missouri. She enjoyed listening to Christian music, watching westerns, telling stories, cooking fabulous meals, and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jackson Durham; great-grandson, Kaiber Williams; sisters, Ellen Breitkrutz, Pansy Taylor; and daughter-in-law, Maureen Williams.

Survivors include children, Melody Miller (Brad), Junior Williams, Joe Williams (Brenda), Sandy Williams; grandchildren, Trigger, Cody, Bronson, Chuck, Tarl, Jarrod, Bill, Samantha, Brendan, Jordan, Courtney; sisters, Hope Sisk (Jackie), Hazel Turner, Betty Sollars; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Elaine Maddox (Marie Elaine Maddox), 78, of Atchison, formerly Wathena, Kansas, passed away Oct 27, 21.

She was born April 23, 1943, to&nbsp;Lawrence Deeken and Eileen (Shalz) Deeken in St. Joseph, Missouri and in 1964 she married her loving husband of nearly 53 years, Allen Lee Maddox and had two sons together.

While Elaine may have been born with a slight handicap, she always overcame any obstacle presented to her. She was strong and unabashed with a deep, sarcastic sense of humor that she passed along to her sons. Her laugh was loud and infectious; even more so when the thunderous chortle was combined with her signature banging on the table whenever she found amusement in something. Elaine enjoyed her casino time and an occasional cocktail (although she couldn’t hold her liquor). She had a particular shade of brown lipstick she wore when she planned to give someone a piece of her mind; but overall was kind, with a big heart, a love for animals and huge pride in her sons.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brother, Lawrence "Bill" Deeken and survived of the home by her sons Christopher of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Billy of Atchison, Kansas.

Elaine has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith &amp; Sidenfaden Chapel.

Ta’Lian Kelshon Charles Wilkinson, 21, of Elwood, Kansas went to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 2, 2021.

He was born April 1, 2000 to Kellie Harrington and Darron Wilkinson, raised by Godfather, Efrem Byrd.

Ta’Lian was preceded in death by his father, Darron, maternal grandfather, Jeffrey Pete Harrington, brother, Boston Wilkinson and brother, Cornelious Anderson.

Survived by mother, Kellie, fiance’, Macy Ricklefs, siblings, Kortni Ross, Tre’Nez Wilkinson (Briley), Ty’Zell Harrington, Tahana Smith and his fur babies, Cinnamon, Molly, Meech, Makya and Goober., Grandparents, Jack and Sue Bartley, aunts, Kim Gassaway (Moses), La’Shonna Byrd (Efrem), uncle Derrick Kirby, uncle Jimmy Bartley, hosts of loving cousins and friends.

Ta graduated from Riverside High School in 2019. With a host of teachers fighting this battle along side him to help him succeed. Where he participated in baseball, basketball, football and choir. Ta’s hobbies were playing piano, singing, basketball, playing PS4 with his brothers.

Ta was a warrior in his fight against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He never wavered in his faith. He was always willing to help with a smile on his face. Ta’s love for God showed in his everyday way of life. Ta was a member of Elwood United Community Church and one of God’s strongest soldiers in his battle.

Funeral Service: 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Visitation: 1 hour prior to service from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the gymnasium.

Julia Lynn Thompson Schneider departed this life surrounded by family on November 2, 2021. Julia was born to Lewis and Rosella (Sample) Thompson on February 17,1947. A lifelong resident of St. Joseph, Julia was a precocious child as an early reader and pianist. These two childhood pursuits portended Julia’s lifetime loves of libraries and music. Julia became well known throughout her life as an excellent accompanist for other musicians, in addition to being a solo performer. She was a solo and ensemble accompanist from grade school through high school, Julia added extracurricular pipe organ studies while enrolled at Central High School, where she maintained excellent grades and played for CHS choirs, soloists, and musicals until graduation in 1965. Julia worked as a clerk and cataloguer at the St. Joseph Public Library after high school and during college. She also started as organist at Huffman Memorial United Methodist Church while working toward first an Associate of Arts degree from St. Joseph Junior College and then a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Library Science at NWMSU. Julia earned a Master of Arts degree in Library Science at the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1971, whereupon she began her long career at Missouri Western State College (later Missouri Western State University) Library as its first Acquisitions Librarian. She worked her way through Technical Process Librarian, Coordinator of Technical Services, Acting Library Director, and finally Library Director, a position she held for 24 years out of her 44-year MWSU tenure. Julia’s competency and professionalism as a librarian were well respected and she was widely recognized as a leader in that field during her lifetime. Julia was the MWSU Library’s liaison for OCLC, a national library and resource-sharing consortium. She was administrative director of many successful grant requests from the Missouri State Library for digitization of additional materials. She directed the retrospective conversion and processing of library collections at the National Military Heritage Museum in St. Joseph. Julia steered the transition of the MWSU Library to the digital age. This included converting the card catalog search method to the INLEX database, a library internet digital agency. Julia served on the Board of Directors of INLEX, based in California. Her INLEX activity included product testing, national evaluation and compilation of a database of some 280,000 book titles, and her expertise was frequently sought by libraries launching their own search for an automated integrated library system. Julia was also president of MOBIUS, a common library collaborative partnership platform-sharing volumes and access to other materials across Missouri libraries and some out-of-state libraries. Julia’s charge to organize and arrange preservation of unique and rare resources that had been donated to MWSU became her firm mission to create and curate the Special Collections Room housing such extraordinary materials at the Library. During her lifelong love of all things library, she received many awards and honors. Among them are MWSU Outstanding Administrator, MWSU Alumni Distinguished Alumni Award, MWSU Scanlon Service Award, YWCA Women of Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award. Throughout her library career and beyond, Julia was an accompanist for St. Joseph Community Chorus and many soloists at MWSU and CHS, as well as a frequent substitute organist. She was also very active in community offerings, participating in the St. Joseph Area Literary Cotillion, Wesley Foundation Board, Delta Kappa Gamma, Allied Arts Higher Education Fund Coordinator, The Runcie Club, United Way Fund Drive volunteer, Beta Phi Mu national library science honor society, and various arts and church activities. In 1975, Julia married Tom Schneider, who survives of the home. Because their respective roles as pianist/organist and choir director figured so prominently in their lives, Julia and Tom literally and figuratively made beautiful music together during their 46 years of marriage. Along with Tom's children, Bradley (Tara) Schneider and Christine (Ed) Elsea, Julia and Tom added sons Jedd, Jeremy (Amber), and Jacob (Keera). Dr. Christine Schneider is also a part of the family. Grandchildren Edward Madison Elsea IV, Emily Mackenzie Elsea, Hera Ayn (Joey) Schneider, Ella Rose Schneider, Finn Christian Schneider, and Timothy Adam Schneider brought much joy to the family and Julia’s life. She is also survived by her brother, Gary (Connie) Thompson, of St. Joseph, two nephews, and three grand-nieces/nephews. Hugh Loren Corbet, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021, after a brief illness.

He was born December 13, 1932, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Clarence, Sr. and Geraldine (Uhl) Corbet.

Hugh married Rosalie “Rosie” Puccio August 6, 1965. She preceded him in death January 7, 2013.

He was a member of the Friends of The Animal Shelter and National Wildlife Federation and a proud progressive member of the Democratic party.

Hugh was a DIY master, he lived a completely active and independent life until almost the very end. Hugh loved nothing more than feeding the wild outside birds and working with his hands. He was a truly one of a kind good man and adored by his family and all who knew him.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence Corbet, Jr; and brother-in-law, Samuel Crowley.

Survivors include daughter, Michelle Fitzpatrick (Michael); beloved grandson, Nicholas Fitzpatrick; sister, Lora Ellen Crowley; nephew, Samuel Crowley; niece, Sarah Swindler.

Margaret Mary “Peggy” Tabor passed away on Nov. 2, 2021 at home with her family in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born on Dec. 12, 1969 in Joplin, MO to Don and Catherine Gorman - the youngest of 4 children. Peggy attended Notre Dame de Sion Preparatory School for Girls (Since 1912) and Rockhurst College, both in Kansas City, MO. During these years, Peggy spent her time perfecting her tennis game and making lifelong friendships. Most recently, Peggy worked with the wonderful team at Godfather’s Pizza’s corporate office. Peggy married her best friend Don “D.T.” Tabor on Nov. 12, 1999. They had three wonderful children, Mary Catherine (Cate), Michael (Mick), and William (Will). Together, the Tabors made friends with everyone they met at their various homes in the Midwest. Those who know Peg know that she always had an open front door, welcoming all to stop by and visit when they pleased. Everyone knew she was the Life of the Party. She would stay up all night chatting with her friends (and especially her nephews-in-law). She loved playing games, watching movies, decorating for the holidays, and watching her Chiefs play football. She loved all things Irish and trips to Table Rock Lake &amp; Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends. Above all, Peggy was the most dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Family was of the utmost importance to her - she was always there. Those who know her best know that she was “strong to quite strong.” Peggy is preceded in death by her father Don Gorman, sister Kathy T. Gorman, nephew Jimmy Gorman, and father-in-law Don E. Tabor.

She is survived by her husband Don, children Mary Cate, Mick, and Will; mother, Catherine Gorman; brother Jim Gorman, his wife Janet, and their daughters Emily, Elizabeth Tompkins (Chris), and Erin (Jack Gooderl); brother Mike Gorman, his wife Kathy, and their children Katie Bechina (Mike), and Maggie Taulbee (Austin); great nieces Anna and Lucy Bechina; mother-in-law Mary Jane Tabor and the Tabor Family; and her faithful dog Winnie. Peggy leaves behind many wonderful friends from every stage of her life. She was born on Dec. 12, 1969 in Joplin, MO to Don and Catherine Gorman - the youngest of 4 children. Peggy attended Notre Dame de Sion Preparatory School for Girls (Since 1912) and Rockhurst College, both in Kansas City, MO. During these years, Peggy spent her time perfecting her tennis game and making lifelong friendships. Most recently, Peggy worked with the wonderful team at Godfather’s Pizza’s corporate office. Peggy married her best friend Don “D.T.” Tabor on Nov. 12, 1999. They had three wonderful children, Mary Catherine (Cate), Michael (Mick), and William (Will). Together, the Tabors made friends with everyone they met at their various homes in the Midwest. Those who know Peg know that she always had an open front door, welcoming all to stop by and visit when they pleased. Everyone knew she was the Life of the Party. She would stay up all night chatting with her friends (and especially her nephews-in-law). She loved playing games, watching movies, decorating for the holidays, and watching her Chiefs play football. She loved all things Irish and trips to Table Rock Lake &amp; Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends. Above all, Peggy was the most dedicated wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Family was of the utmost importance to her - she was always there. Those who know her best know that she was “strong to quite strong.” Peggy is preceded in death by her father Don Gorman, sister Kathy T. Gorman, nephew Jimmy Gorman, and father-in-law Don E. Tabor. She is survived by her husband Don, children Mary Cate, Mick, and Will; mother, Catherine Gorman; brother Jim Gorman, his wife Janet, and their daughters Emily, Elizabeth Tompkins (Chris), and Erin (Jack Gooderl); brother Mike Gorman, his wife Kathy, and their children Katie Bechina (Mike), and Maggie Taulbee (Austin); great nieces Anna and Lucy Bechina; mother-in-law Mary Jane Tabor and the Tabor Family; and her faithful dog Winnie. Peggy leaves behind many wonderful friends from every stage of her life. William Michael ‘Mike’ Richey  1949 - 2021

Randall Dean Korthanke, 70, passed away Sunday, October 31st, 2021, in his home with family by his side, after a difficult battle with cancer.

Randy was born in Sabetha, April 27th, 1951. He was one of four children born to Robert “Bob” and Verneal Oldfield Korthanke.

Born and raised in the area, CK, as he was known by many, attended Robinson schools prior to graduating from Hiawatha High School in 1969. He later attended Highland Junior College. His true passion came from working and learning alongside his father farming and raising livestock; a family tradition Randy would continue until his retirement in 2020.

Among his many interests Randy enjoyed golfing, bowling, and watching Chiefs and Kansas State football games. He particularly enjoyed spending time with wife Karen, riding their Harley, traveling, especially to Mexico, and attending Renaissance Festivals. Above all he valued spending time with family.

Randy is survived by his wife Karen, and his children Kimberly Korthanke, Elizabeth Nicole Dunn (Justin), Candice Schulz (Christopher), and Christopher Nelson (Katrina),&nbsp; His grandchildren, Alana, Bailey, Camdyn, Chole, Adelynn, Liam, Jackson, Charlotte, and baby Dunn, due February 2022. Brothers, Steve Korthanke (Linda), Stanley Korthanke (LaDonna) and brother-in-law Chuck Weaver.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Marsha, and grandson Landyn.

Phil graduated from Dunlap, IA High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University.&nbsp; During the Vietnam War, he was stationed in Alaska with the US Air Force.&nbsp; Phil then spent 42 years as an engineer for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

He was preceded in death by parents Ray and Margurite Stockstad.

Teddy Robert Butterfield, 73, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021.

On September 21, 1948 he was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to George and Audrey (Gaylor) Butterfield.

He married Linda Williams on April 2, 1971.

Teddy was a member of the Local 518 Cement Masons for over 50 years. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tabatha Kay King; siblings, Marion, Gary, Ronnie, Danny, Cakelow and George Butterfield, Margaret Courson, and Virginia Hoffman.

David M. Mitchell-Ogden, 55, of St Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

He was born February 17, 1966 in Los Angeles, CA, son of Maureen Mitchell. He graduated from Verdugo High School in Tujunga, CA and attended Missouri Western State College. David loved music and playing guitar, enjoyed being outdoors, most of all he loved being a Dad. 

David was preceded in death by his mother, Maureen Hess and sister, Rita. 

Survivors include, 3 daughters, Michelle Ogden of Santa Clarita, CA, Reanna Ogden of St. Joseph and Victoria Ogden of St. Joseph, mother of his children, Carmen Davidson, sister, Deanna Sanders-Ogden of Morena Valley, CA and brother, Richard Ogden of Tujunga, CA, grandson, Joshua Steltenpohl.

Kevin Daniel Linck, 69, of rural Robinson, Kansas passed away October 29, 2021, at the Mosaic Medical Center in St Joseph, Missouri. Kevin was born on August 8, 1952, in Highland, Kansas, to Bernard and Barbara (Soden) Linck. On March 2, 1974 Kevin married his sweetheart Karen Pierson at the Willis Christian Church. From their love they had five children.&nbsp;

Kevin and his siblings were raised on a farm outside Everest were he attended grade school and then graduated from Horton High School in 1970. From there he attended Northeast Kansas Technical School in Atchison where he received a certificate in Auto Mechanics. He also attended one year at Manhattan Christian College.&nbsp;

Kevin and Karen spent most their years together living in Everest and then Robinson. Over the years Kevin spent time as a mechanic, driving a school bus for South Brown County Schools, as a member of the Everest/Horton Jaycees, and the Horton and Robinson Boy Scouts. Kevin held various positions within the church as well as being involved at Mission Lake Christian Camp in Horton, for more than 30 years.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Nathanial Linck.

&nbsp;Survivors include his wife, Karen; sons, Kim (Lisa) of Manhattan, Kirt of Robinson, Kelly (Becky) of Hiawatha; daughters, Keisha (Brandon) Statler of Holton, and Kandace Linck of Holton; grandchildren, Macoy, Pierson, Eleanor, Slader, William, Allen, Margaret, Ruby, Aaron, Alyssa (Nelver), Alex, Ashton, Kohl, Jackson; one great grandchild, Noelle; brothers, Barry (Thelma) of Havensville, Randy (Cynthia) of Horton, Dennis (Nancy) of Everest; one sister Angela (Troy) Carlton of Omaha, NE; several nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Kevin Daniel Linck  1952 - 2021

Homer Eugene Stepanek was born to Harrison and Amelia (Kiefer) on Aug. 6, 1934, the 8th of 11 children.

He graduated from Buchanan High School, Troy, MO, in 1952. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He has remained a Marine – proud of his country and the flag.

He attended the University of MO majoring in Agriculture. He worked for Missouri University Extension Service for 10 years as a Balanced Farming and Livestock Agent.

In 1963 he married Mary Lou Vaughn in Boonville, Mo where both were working for the University Extension Service.

Two boys joined the family – Randy in 1964 and Rick in 1966. In 1972 the family moved to a small farm near Cainsville, MO where they engaged in raising livestock and made improvements on the family farm. In 1986 Homer and Mary Lou left Northern MO for the Navajo Indian Reservation. Receiving his license credentials after attending Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND, in 1990, they returned to the Navajo Reservation, pastoring in Gallup, NM and working at Navajo Ministries in Farmington, NM. For 14 years they shared the Good News and love of Jesus.

Homer had the privilege and honor of marrying his two sons – Randy and Shana Jolliff and Rick and Alice Batson.

After returning to Missouri in 2000, he and Mary Lou settled in Easton, Mo.

With a mission of sharing the Gospel of Jesus, he served as a volunteer in Corrections for 16 years at Western MO Correctional Center, Cameron, MO and Western Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in St. Joseph, MO.

Homer enjoyed being outdoors in God’s creation, having several black Lab dogs and his pet chickens that enjoyed spending time with him. His real passion was sharing with those he came in contact with the love that Jesus had for each who would come to Him.

He left this world for his eternal home in heaven on October 31, 2021 at the age of 87.

Homer Eugene Stepanek was born to Harrison and Amelia (Kiefer) on Aug. 6, 1934, the 8th of 11 children. He graduated from Buchanan High School, Troy, MO, in 1952. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He has remained a Marine – proud of his country and the flag. He attended the University of MO majoring in Agriculture. He worked for Missouri University Extension Service for 10 years as a Balanced Farming and Livestock Agent. In 1963 he married Mary Lou Vaughn in Boonville, Mo where both were working for the University Extension Service. Two boys joined the family – Randy in 1964 and Rick in 1966. In 1972 the family moved to a small farm near Cainsville, MO where they engaged in raising livestock and made improvements on the family farm. In 1986 Homer and Mary Lou left Northern MO for the Navajo Indian Reservation. Receiving his license credentials after attending Trinity Bible College in Ellendale, ND, in 1990, they returned to the Navajo Reservation, pastoring in Gallup, NM and working at Navajo Ministries in Farmington, NM. For 14 years they shared the Good News and love of Jesus. Homer had the privilege and honor of marrying his two sons – Randy and Shana Jolliff and Rick and Alice Batson. After returning to Missouri in 2000, he and Mary Lou settled in Easton, Mo. With a mission of sharing the Gospel of Jesus, he served as a volunteer in Corrections for 16 years at Western MO Correctional Center, Cameron, MO and Western Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center in St. Joseph, MO. He was born December 21, 1969, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Roy E. and Donna (Oyerly) Bailey.

Chris graduated from Lafayette High School.

Chris enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, fishing, hunting, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, listening to 80’s music, attending his children’s sporting events, spending time with his children, family and friends.

On December 21, 1928 he was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to Charles William and Lottie (Hussie) Daum.

Charles married Vera Marie Dykes on October 16, 1948. She precedes him in death.

He was a member of Savannah Avenue Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 11, and Club 40/8. He retired from the MO Air National Guard, St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his wife; son, Ralph E. Daum; daughter, Janet Mae Daum; great-grandson, Austin Welch; sister, Betty Dynes.

Born in St. Joseph, Missouri on October 20, 1989, she was the daughter of Julie Ann (Mignery) Purvis and Anthony Cosejo Fajardo.

Liza had an enormous heart for both people and animals. She never turned anyone away who needed her. Liza was a beautiful soul who never knew a stranger. She had the biggest, most beautiful smile. Her bigger-than-life personality was infectious to everyone around her. Her caring nature was what made her so special to everyone that knew her. She had the biggest, most full, and ever-giving heart. She was a praying woman and she is safe in the arms of Jesus. She will be forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Louis Patrick Mignery; paternal grandfather, Antonio Cosejo Fajardo; and maternal great-grandfather, Allen Willoughby.

Michael owned and operated his own computer company called DB Duality, in Lawrence, KS working as the I.T. person for several different companies in Lawrence and Kansas City. Michael was an Eagle Scout and had earned the rank of Fire Builder in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, the Pony Express Council Honorary Camping Society. He had attended the High Adventure Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, and enjoyed camping, being outdoors, biking, cars, and stereos. Michael especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and his best friend Budro who went everywhere with him.

Patricia J. “Pat” Estes, 85, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021.

She was born March 28, 1936 in Savannah, Missouri to Lawrence and Louise (Gerteisan) Paxton. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1954 with her brother, Bob. She then started working as a secretary for the State of Missouri and went on to be a social worker for the state. An avid bowler, Pat met David C. Estes at a bowling alley and they married on December 3, 1971. He preceded her in death in March 1977. She retired from the state to raise her daughter and later worked for American National Bank in St. Joseph.

Pat was a published poet and was very creative with home decorating and remodeling. She had one of her rooms featured in Better Homes &amp; Gardens. She made everything beautiful.

Her ornery, outgoing personality drew people to her. She was the best mom and grandma we could ever ask for.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and two brothers, Lawrence Robert “Bob” Paxton and Richard Franklin “Doc” Paxton. Survivors include her daughter, Lorissa Estes; grandson, Corbin Estes; brother, Gary Paxton; two nieces, Kimberly Corns and Dina Wiebensohn; other extended family and friends; and her beloved dogs, Coco and Cory.

He was born February 24, 1942, in Craig, Missouri to Derald R. McClure and Marion (Hardin) Pfander.

Virgil married Judith Ann Johnson March 27, 1982. She survives of the home.

He enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing, hunting, game show network, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Vickie Cox, Mary Jean Gray; stepfather, Clarence Pfander; and his beloved dog, Lady.

Marilyn Elaine Decker 73, of Savannah, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021. 

She was born December 20, 1947 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Virginia and Carl Steidel. She graduated from Benton High School and married Gary Decker Sr. on August 6, 1966. She was a homemaker and worked at Walmart for 36 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, great grandkids, and her cousins.

Marilyn Elaine Decker 73, of Savannah, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021. She was born December 20, 1947 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of the late Virginia and Carl Steidel. She graduated from Benton High School and married Gary Decker Sr. on August 6, 1966. She was a homemaker and worked at Walmart for 36 years. Rolla "Dude" Gerald Johnson Jr. 75, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 in a Saint Joseph hospital. 

He was born October 6, 1946 in St. Joseph, Missouri, son of the late Hazel &amp; Rolla Johnson Sr. He married Barbara Swardson Johnson on February 24, 1979 at Copeland Baptist Church, and she survives of the home. He graduated from Lafayette High School class of 1967, and from Missouri Western State University with a degree in Psychology. He owned and operated the Assisted Independence Inc. He also was a Car Salesman for many years. He enjoyed preaching for 30 years as this was his life's work. He also enjoyed fishing, playing fastpitch softball, and classic Rock and Roll. He loved cars, spending time with his family, and cooking breakfast for them every morning. Rolla was a former member of the Copeland Baptist Church, and he attended the Harvest Baptist Church in Savannah, MO. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, William Charles Johnson, brother, Jimmie L. Johnson, and sister, Rose Johnson. 

Survivors include: wife, Barbara L. Johnson of the home, daughter, Sara (Rick) Mann of St. Joseph, MO, three grandchildren: Caleb Johnson, Kileigh Gross, and Kollin Gross, sisters, Joyce Butler, Karen Johnson, and Debra Haskey.

Clifford "Butch" Becker, 61, of Faucett, Missouri, passed away, Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. 

He was born November 17, 1959 in Oklahoma City, OK, son of Mary "Punky" and Henry Becker. In 1978, he graduated from Rocky Ford High School in Rocky Ford, CO. He served in the United States Army for 15 years. On January 17, 2015, he married Apple Bowman. Butch worked at Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center as a Refrigeration Mechanic. Butch was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was an avid motorcycle rider and a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. He was also a part of the KC Superfan's Team and enjoyed fishing. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Christopher Nauerz, brother, Jody Becker and grandson, Allen Lee Ezell. 

Survivors include, wife, Apple Dee Becker of the home, children, Alex Reynolds of Des Moines, IA, Scotty Ketner of Overland Park, KS, Kiwi Madison of Lawrence, KS, Chance Reynolds of Faucett, Rockie Reynolds of St. Joseph, siblings, Shelly Wolfe, Pat Becker, Mike Becker and Eddie Becker, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church serving as past president of the Altar Guild, member of the Properties Committee, Rebekah Circle, LWML, sang in the choir, was a Kennedy Caller and was manager of the church’s bookstore. She enjoyed yard work and being outside, hand work, making hand towels for baptisms, was Treasurer for Sunday School and a member of Pastor’s Adult Bible Class. She was married to Sherman A. “Duke” Cawthorn on Aug. 24, 1963, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Mr. Cawthorn preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2001.

Survivors include her care giver, Terry Mills, Atchison, a stepdaughter Phyllis West, Topeka, KS, step granddaughter Robyn West, and a cousin Lois Vowels, Atchison. Her parents, husband Duke, and a sister Anna Louise Gerhardt preceded her in death.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri to Jerry and Geneva (Bennett) Poe. Rich married Linda Kay Claycomb December 21, 1972. She survives of the home.

He enjoyed going for rides on his Harley Davidson, building birdhouses and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ron Poe.

Additional survivors include sons, Tevis Poe, Ty Poe (Wendy), Rick Poe; grandchildren, Elia, Rikki and Kara Poe; numerous nieces and nephews.
