Rena G. Brewer, 84, St. Joseph, MO, passed away November 30th, 2022.

She was born on May 31, 1938 to Charles and Hattie (Livingston) Ellis. She graduated from Lafayette High School.

Rena married Donald Brewer Sr. in 1957 and he preceded her in death in 2011.

She enjoyed gardening, yard work and ceramics. Rena loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her family.

Rena was a member of Three Angels Seventh-day Adventist Church.

She was preceded in death by parents; and seven siblings.

Survivors include children, Donald J. Brewer Jr. (Laura), Tammy Sansone (Fred), John Brewer (Mary Jane), and Lisa Huffman; 16 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Charles Ellis; numerous nieces and nephews.

Diann Catherine Wiberg (Wichner), 85, passed away peacefully at home Monday morning, November 28th, 2022. &nbsp; Diann was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 11th, 1937, to Elmer and Catherine (Winnemore) Wichner. The family moved to New Jersey, where Diann graduated from Vineland High School in 1955. She attended Zion Bible Institute in East Providence, Rhode Island, where she met C. Edward Wiberg, who she married in 1956. Ed &amp; Diann soon moved to Newfield, New Jersey, where they raised their family.

Throughout the years, Diann was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a lifelong learner.&nbsp; She passionately studied the bible and taught children’s Sunday School and adult Bible studies.

She took classes in Spanish and sign language, with the goal of working with the deaf community. Passionate about her ministry, she became an ordained minister to the deaf and taught sign language classes to children and adults.

She also enjoyed gardening, baking, and studies in Hebrew, archaeology, and astronomy. &nbsp; Diann is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ed.

She is survived by her sisters Carol Elbertson of Delaware, and Sandra Gray of New Jersey, her four children Charles (Beth) of Tampa, Florida, Arnold (Peggy) of Vineland, New Jersey, Christine of Lansing, Kansas, and Dana (Debbie) of Mulica Hill, New Jersey, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

Diann moved to Kansas to live with her daughter following the death of her husband. No service is planned at this time.

Helen Martha Black 99, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 in a Savannah, MO., health care center. She was born May 22, 1923 in Elmdale, MN, daughter of the late Mary and Stanley Maslowski. 

She worked at Quaker Oats and was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling, polish cooking and polka music. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. 

Helen was preceded in death by husband, Lonnie Black, parents, a son, Dennis Black, brothers, Walter, Henry, Vince, Louis and Albert Maslowski, sisters: Regina Sorenson, Stella Dombrowski, Berniece Dombrowski, Agnes Czech, and Gertrude Jarnot. 

Survivors include, son, David (Jackie) Black, three grandchildren: Michael (Nickie) Black, Angie (Jay) Morris, and Kyle (Shea) Black, and three great grandchildren.

Vernita Ann Runkles, 68, of Amazonia, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born February 15, 1954 in St. Joseph, daughter of Vernita and Verle Ware. 

She attended Benton High School. She worked at Norris and Sons Trash Service for 8 years, and MODOT, retiring after 23 years as a Maintenance Specialist. 

Ann was a caring Mother, enjoyed doing crafts, especially woodworking, playing dominos weekly with her friends, and loved helping others. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Jimmy Duty, brother-in-law, Henry Schubert, nieces, Amanda Duty, Shanon Long, and Davey Duty, and nephew, Toby Schubert. 

Survivors include: son, Jody Runkles and daughter, Samantha Runkles, both of Amazonia, siblings, Barbara (Jim) Cregger of Cottondale, FL, Clarence (Della) Ware of Grant City, MO, and David Duty of Hamilton, MO, sister-in-law, Debbie Schubert of Rosendale, MO, dear friend, Jill Graf of Amazonia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Velda “Deane” Alkire, 96, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

She was born November 5, 1926, in Westphalia, Kansas to David and Mary (Rasco) King. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School.

Deane married Timothy J. Alkire on February 18, 1965. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2012.

She worked for Chase Candy Company for 3½ years and National Bellis Hess for 3½ years in the catalog department. She &amp; her husband also owned &amp; operated the former Blue Town Tavern.

Deane enjoyed bowling in her free time, a little bit of gambling &amp; spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David &amp; Mary; her husband, Timothy; brother, Kenneth Sipes; sister, Connie Goddard; son, Kenneth D. Sipes; stepson, Shannon Alkire; and granddaughter Lindsey Barquist.

Richard Neil DeShon, 88, lifelong St. Joseph resident and civic leader, passed from this life on November 28, 2022.

“Dick” was born on March 5, 1934, to Rex C. and Agnes (Grooms) DeShon on the family farm on Riverside Road. He attended the rural one-room Riverside Grade School and Central High School where he quickly made many new friendships. In his sophomore year, he was elected vice president of his Class of 1952.

On June 15, 1956, Dick married Mignon Goetz. She preceded him in death on August 8, 2022. In 1957, he graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts in American History.

Dick returned to St. Joseph and assumed management of the Artesian Ice &amp; Cold Storage and the Viscosity Oil companies. He quietly transformed the ice company from a retail ice and commercial warehousing business to a modern refrigerated cold storage operation.

Dick provided leadership and business knowledge to many organizations over the years, serving as a member of the board of directors of Commerce Bank and the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri, chairman of the board of directors for the former Heartland Health System and board president of the Family Guidance Center. He served as a delegate to the White House Conference on Children &amp; Youth and as chairman of the first Governor’s Conference on Children &amp; Youth. He also served as President of the Missouri Western State University Alumni Association and Foundation board of directors.

Having spent many years boating on the Missouri River and Lake of the Ozarks, Dick was interested in developing commercial and recreational opportunities that incorporated the river. He was instrumental in bringing the “Spirit of St. Joseph” riverboat to Riverfront Park and served as vice president of the St. Joseph Riverfront Development Corp. and chairman of the St. Joseph Regional Port Authority and City Tourism Commission. He served on the Parks &amp; Recreation board, several CIP review committees and other city advisory committees. In 2003, Dick was honored with the Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Development Leadership Award. He was the 2022 Saint Joseph, Missouri Citizen of the Year.

Dick’s greatest passion was the Pony Express Museum. He and Mignon built upon a family legacy started by her late father and uncle, providing the leadership and resources necessary for the establishment of the Pony Express National Memorial in 1991, serving as president of the board of trustees since 1993. The expanded Museum, including a one room schoolhouse, now covers an entire city block. Dick’s final project was the Pony Bar, which pays tribute to the Goetz Family’s contribution to St. Joseph’s history.

Dick was also a longtime member of Rotary Club No. 32, the Benton Club, St. Joseph Booster Club, and the M.U. Alumni Association and Tiger Athletic Club. He and Mignon enjoyed traveling, spending winters in warmer climates, entertaining friends and family, and following M.U. athletics.

In addition to his parents and Mignon, Dick was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Rex C. Jr. “Bud” and Louise DeShon. He is survived by daughters, Darcy (David) Carpenter of Nebraska City, NE, Janet Taylor (Michael), St. Joseph; his sons, Andy (Lorrie ) of Ft. Worth, TX, and Ridge of St. Joseph; his brother Larry (Linda); and grandchildren, Elyse Mohr (Clint), Max McBride, Blair McBride, Gray Carpenter, Kailee Smith (Mike), Kyle Taylor, Logan Taylor, Megan Runge (Ben), Morgan DeShon, Chesney DeShon, Carson DeShon, Samantha DeShon; great grandchildren, Elise, Talia, Sophia, Amelia, Harrison, Thomas and Henry; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and Candy, the beloved schnauzer.

Mardell E. Fannon, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, 25, 2022.

She was born February 17, 1930, in Graham, Missouri to Everett and Marguerita (Melvin) Early.

Mardell married Charles M. Fannon, Jr. on December 26, 1949; he preceded her in death on October 3, 1996.

She was a fabulous seamstress. Mardell made her own clothing and beautiful quilts.

Mardell was also preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a brother-in-law and a niece.

George F. Rickel, 91, of Hoyt, KS, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Anew Nursing Home in Nortonville.

He was born September 15, 1931, at a farmstead west of Hoyt, the son of Dennis and Harriett Woodhead Rickel. Family legend says some confusion occurred because when the doctor arrived, he was drunk and put the wrong date on his birth certificate He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1949.&nbsp; He was drafted into the U.S. Army veteran, and served in an artillery unit near North Korea during the Korean War.

George was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Meriden and United Steelworkers Union Local No. 307.

He had worked 42 ½ years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka, retiring in the early 1990’s.

George married Alice Lowry on July 25, 1952 at Auburn.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on October 25, 2007.

George was also preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Timothy J. Rickel, who died September 19, 1984, a great grandson, Orion Rickel, who died in infancy, a daughter-in-law, Linda Jane Rickel, three brothers, Clifford M. Rickel, Donald S. Rickel and Robert G. Rickel, and four sisters, Zadie B. Howe, Martha Jane Martin, Dorothy Mae Redding and Nancy Trumm.

George F. Rickel, 91, of Hoyt, KS, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at the Anew Nursing Home in Nortonville.He was born September 15, 1931, at a farmstead west of Hoyt, the son of Dennis and Harriett Woodhead Rickel. Family legend says some confusion occurred because when the doctor arrived, he was drunk and put the wrong date on his birth certificate He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1949.&nbsp; He was drafted into the U.S. Army veteran, and served in an artillery unit near North Korea during the Korean War.George was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Meriden and United Steelworkers Union Local No. 307.He had worked 42 ½ years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka, retiring in the early 1990’s.George married Alice Lowry on July 25, 1952 at Auburn.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on October 25, 2007.George was also preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Timothy J. Rickel, who died September 19, 1984, a great grandson, Orion Rickel, who died in infancy, a daughter-in-law, Linda Jane Rickel, three brothers, Clifford M. Rickel, Donald S. Rickel and Robert G. Rickel, and four sisters, Zadie B. Ronald Bennett Olson, 80, of Smithville, MO passed away November 29, 2022.&nbsp;

He was born on June 30, 1942, to Roger and Lorraine Olson. Ronnie graduated from Fargo High School in Fargo, North Dakota. He served 4 years in the United States Coast Guard.

On December 25, 1965, he was united in marriage to Linda Buchholz. They had a daughter Kristine on October 25, 1966, and a son Tyler on July 27, 1972.&nbsp;

Ronnie had a number of careers in the automotive business, owning his own body shop and then later in sales of automotive equipment. Ronnie loved hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and most of all he loved his family.&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife Linda Olson; daughter Kristi Pederen and husband Mark of Denver, Colorado; son Tyler Olson and wife Brandi of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter Lauren Eskine of Austin, TX; sister Tonna Ziske and husband Scott of Rapid City, SD; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.&nbsp;

William "Bill" Harold Myers, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at a Cameron, MO Hospital. He was born April 8, 1941 in Maryville, MO, son of Mary and Raymond Myers. 

Following the death of his mother when he was a child, Bill was raised by his aunt, Hazel Myers. In 1958, he enlisted in the U.S. Marines. On May 6, 1960, he married Janice Pritchett. Following his time of service in US Marines, Bill began working with Lee Bottle Gas &amp; Heating Company, later began his career in roofing with Wilson &amp; Weipert Roofing and Sheet Metal, and also worked for Hausman Metal Works &amp; Roofing and Seaman-Schuske Metal Works, retiring after a total of 35 years. He was a member of the Roofing and Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union. Bill was a Ham Radio Enthusiast. 

He enjoyed woodworking, riding motorcycles, shooting guns, and buying and selling cars which led him to being former owner of WM Auto Sales. Bill proudly built his family home with his own 2 hands in Ayr Lawn edition, St. Joseph, where his family has resided for over the last 50 years. 

Preceding him in death are his parents, wife of 59 years, Janice Myers in 2019, his aunt, Hazel Myers, daughter, Debra Albertson, infant sister, Joyce Myers and granddaughter, Kelly Nigh, and brother Donald Myers. 

Survivors include, daughters, Gerry (Blaine) Parker of Hampton, GA, Diana Annigian of Warsaw, MO, and Billie (Tim) Charboneau of St. Joseph, son, Rodney (Sue) Myers of Dearborn, MO, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 4, 2022, with Military Honors being performed at 4:00 PM, at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Inurnment will be at a later date at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, St. Joseph.

Keith Lynn Knaak was born on Dec. 7th 1949 in Herington Kansas to parents John F. Knaak and Alice M. Groening. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1967. After high school, Keith joined the US Navy and served for 10 years and left as a Machinist Mate First Class.&nbsp;

On January 7, 1978 he married LaVerda (Verdie) Backhus in Shadybrook Kansas at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Throughout their early years together Keith worked several jobs until he was called to serve the Lord in 1979 and began his studies to become a minister. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Divinity from Open Bible College. He then spent his life serving his Savior in Christ by witnessing to many he met and changing many lives.

Keith passed away on Monday November 28, 2022 at Mosaic hospital in St. Joseph Missouri at the age of 72.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Calvin Knaak and Richard Knaak.&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife, LaVerda (Verdie),his sister Grace Ann Stewart (Gary) his daughter Nancy Greenawalt, son Quint Rathbone (Tabitha), step-children Ginger Brousseau, Robert Knaak, Gary Rathbone (Sharon), Mark Rathbone (Kerrie), Mindi Meyer, (Aleks), 5 grandchildren, Nicole, Erin, Kristen, Elaina (Lainey), Gavin, 1 great grandchild, Hayden, and nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Keith loved watching sports, especially K-State Football, and KU Basketball, Nascar, and Golfing. He loved helping his community and took great pride in taking care of their lawns. He also had a great sense of humor and often loved joking with his family and friends.&nbsp;

Marcella Katherine Cicciarelli (Ridgeway) gained her wings in Kansas City, Missouri on November 25th, 2022, at the age of 68. Marcie, as she was known by family and friends, was born on March 24th, 1954, to Albert Charles Ridgeway and May Putman Rusk in San Diego, California. She was residing in Maryville, Missouri at the time of her passing.

Marcie attended Stanberry R-II Highschool in Stanberry, MO. She had her son, William Shawn VanIwarden on November 19th, 1978, in Downey, CA. She married Rudolph Angelo Cicciarelli on August 4th, 1984, in California.

Marcie was an exceptional cook who spent her life working in the restaurant industry, at one time owning The Silver Eagle Diner in Marietta, GA. She had an affinity for gardening and was gifted with a green thumb. Marcie lived all over the United States - California, Missouri, Colorado, Georgia, Mississippi, Nevada, and Arizona – and took her love for cooking and gardening wherever she went.

Marcie is survived by her Husband of 38 years, Rudy of Maryville, MO; Son Shawn and his wife Robin, grandchildren Jaxson, Dylan, Skyelar, Dorien, Willow, and Weslie of New River, AZ; Siblings Joan Given of Maryville, MO, Judy Clifford of Maryville, MO, Connie Turman of West Minster, CO, Albert Ridgeway of Bryant, TX, Debbie Hallman of Denver, CO, Mary &amp; Wayne Spire of Maryville, MO, James &amp; Julie Hahn of Springfield, MO, Betty &amp; Jeff Georke of Crossville, TN, and Sandra Hahn of Crossville, TN; As well as many extended family members and friends.

John Michael Blaske, 73, of Onaga, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 15, 1949 at Onaga the son of Elmer and Margaret Bennett Blaske.&nbsp; He attended grade school at Blaine, then 2 years at Wheaton School until the school closed then he graduated from Onaga High School in 1968. He then went onto Manhattan Vocational Technical School having studied welding and mechanics.&nbsp; He later attended the Missouri Auction School.

John was a farmer and a stockman.&nbsp; He also had worked at the Farmer’s Cooperative in Onaga, Peterson Farms outside of Wamego and in the Swine Research Unit at Kansas State University.&nbsp; Along with that he worked as an auctioneer.&nbsp; His greatest love was watching his kids and grandkids participate in sports and any activities they were involved in.&nbsp; He also had a passion collecting IHC Farmall toy implements.&nbsp; He liked going to tractor pulls.&nbsp;

He was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church at Blaine, a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2278 in Blaine, Ks and the Thomas A. McNeive 4th&nbsp;Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly No. 289 in St. Marys.&nbsp; He was also a Life Member of the Onaga FFA Alumni, a member of the former Pottawatomie County Pork Producers, Pottawatomie County Farm Bureau Board Member. While his children were younger, he was very active with 4-H, being a club Leader for Triple-V, and a swine superintendent at the Pottawatomie County Fair for many years. He loved helping with livestock and then was so proud to help his grandchildren when it came time to work with their animals.

John married Joyce Stoffer on June 28, 1968 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church Blaine, Kansas.&nbsp; She survives, of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three grandchildren, Natalie Blaske, Keaton Blaske, Serena Blaske, and a brother, Paul Blaske.

Other survivors include three daughters; Karen White (Rob), Wamego, Kathy Michaelis, Paxico, Kristie Dressman, Manhattan; three sons, Kevin Blaske (Yvonne), Havensville, Keith Blaske (Michelle), Sylvia and Ken Blaske (Jennifer), Duluth; and twelve grandchildren, Judy White (Leroy), Madelyn Michaelis, Garrett Dressman, Kayla White Alvarado, Emma (Zac) Zeimet, Harley Blaske, Gavin Dressman, Sydney Blaske, Conner Michaelis, Blaine Blaske, Colton Blaske and Calvin Blaske. two sisters, Mary Crumb, Onaga and Margaret Ann Fleagle, Reserve; many nieces and nephews. &nbsp;

John M. Blaske 1949 - 2022

Elmore “Sonny” Ackley, 85, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Restwell Assisted Living in Oskaloosa.

He was born on March 27, 1937 in Pueblo, Colorado the son of Elmore and Sylvia Teske Ackley.&nbsp; He graduated from Wamego High School in 1955 and attended Kansas State University, where he studied mechanical engineering.

Sonny had several occupations.&nbsp; He owned and operated Ackley Plumbing in Onaga and later, Ackley Farm Service in Topeka.&nbsp; He helped in the development of the Lake Sherwood area and had owned Globe Construction Company.&nbsp; His last job before retiring was as a construction supervisor for Holiday Inn Management in Kansas City.

He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Topeka.&nbsp; He had his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.

He married Mary Alice DuLac on April 4, 1959 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Onaga.&nbsp; She survives, of the home.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty Lee Smith and Darlene Ackley, and a grandson, Russell Ackley.

Other survivors include two sons, Joseph H. Ackley (Randy), Topeka and Anthony Keith Ackley (Lori), Wellsville; two daughters, Theresa A.M. Rose (Alan), Ozawkie and Mary J. Elmore “Sonny” Ackley, 85, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Restwell Assisted Living in Oskaloosa.He was born on March 27, 1937 in Pueblo, Colorado the son of Elmore and Sylvia Teske Ackley.&nbsp; He graduated from Wamego High School in 1955 and attended Kansas State University, where he studied mechanical engineering.Sonny had several occupations.&nbsp; He owned and operated Ackley Plumbing in Onaga and later, Ackley Farm Service in Topeka.&nbsp; He helped in the development of the Lake Sherwood area and had owned Globe Construction Company.&nbsp; His last job before retiring was as a construction supervisor for Holiday Inn Management in Kansas City.He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Topeka.&nbsp; He had his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying.He married Mary Alice DuLac on April 4, 1959 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Onaga.&nbsp; She survives, of the home.Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Betty Lee Smith and Darlene Ackley, and a grandson, Russell Ackley.Other survivors include two sons, Joseph H. Michael Ray Oliver, 72, of Savannah, MO unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at a local hospital in St. Joseph. He resided with his loving companion Debra Beahler in Savannah MO for 13 years.

Michael was born April 12, 1950 to Frank and Goldie (Graves) Oliver in St Joseph MO. He attended Savannah High School and later married Janice Jarvis on September 2, 1969 and they had two children Sherry and Shannon. They divorced after 40 years of marriage.

Michael spent a lot of his younger years playing softball, hill climbing, playing pool, and occasionally golfing.&nbsp; Of course, as we all know, his true love of all was hunting, fishing, and gardening.&nbsp; He hunted every day he could.&nbsp; He loved gardening and showing everyone up with his produce.&nbsp; He always grew an overabundance of watermelon to share with his family and friends.&nbsp; Michael retired from Nestle Purina after 31 years.&nbsp; He has since worked along side his brother Gary part time for the Savannah RIII School District mowing and maintaining the school properties.&nbsp;&nbsp; He has been a volunteer firefighter and worked as a reserve officer in the past.

Survivors include his mother Goldie Oliver, children, Sherry (Barry) Robertson and Shannon (Jackie) Oliver both of Savannah, MO; grandchildren, Logan Oliver, Addison Oliver, Trestan Robertson, and Lexie Robertson; brothers, Gary (Karen) Oliver of Savannah, MO, Steve (Diane) Oliver of Clever, MO, and Ronald (Vickie) Oliver of Walnut Grove, MO; sister, Carla (Mike) Potter of Nevada, IA; and his companion Debra Beahler of Savannah. Frederick "Fred" Lawrence Beason 81, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday November 28, 2022 Mosaic Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri son of the late Dorothy G. (Crawford) Beason. 

He attended Webster Elementary and was in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and a DeMolay. Fred graduated from Lafayette High School, attended the St. Joseph Junior College, Northwest Missouri State University, and graduated from Missouri Western State University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. 

He married his college sweetheart, Eleanor Ruth Yuille, in 1966 and she passed away suddenly in 1967.

Fred was a lifelong teacher beginning his career at Co-Cathedral grade school (1967 - 1980), Skaith Elementary (1980 - 1985) and then Bessie Ellison from 1985 until retirement in 2003 for a total of 36 years teaching 5th and 6th grades. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. Joseph, participating in the choir as a teacher/director in the Sunday School program. He also served as a Deacon. Fred enjoyed the Arts, attending the St. Joseph Symphony and the Performing arts programs. He served on the Performing Arts Board of Directors 2013-2015. Fred was also a member of the Voices of America Barbershop Group and a member of its Board of directors in 2015.

After retiring, he found a new “career” helping Ryan Frakes with the Farmers Market for several years. Fred loved traveling the United States, Canada and went to Europe several times.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Ruth Beason, parent Dorothy G. Crawford, and sister, Carol Beason Courtney Ehlmann. 

He is survived by nephews and nieces (the Courtney Kids), Claire Courtney Graham (Hank), Chris Courtney (De) of Fort Worth, TX, Cliff Courtney of Raleigh, NC, and Corinne Courtney Dodson of Fort Worth, TX as well as their children and grandchildren, all of whom looked forward to his biannual treks to Texas.

Fred’s family is grateful for the love and support given to him by longtime friends Margaret Adams and Dennis Hart.

He married Evelyn Amos on March 9, 1957. Frank worked at Iowa Missouri Walnut. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking, and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, &nbsp;and he especially loved his grandchildren. 

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sue Ann Lafave, siblings, Charles Cook, Ronnie Cook, Bob Cook, Jimmy Cook, Carey Cook, Louise Ogden, Joanne Cogdill, and Darlene Kirby, and granddaughter, Stevie Ann Cook. 

Survivors include: wife of 65 years, Evelyn Cook, of the home, son, Frank Jr. (Carla) Cook, of Parkville, MO, brother, Lonnie Cook, of Uvalde, TX, grandchildren, Memphis Allen Cook, Ryan Lafave, and Ashley (Joe) Kinney, great-grandsons, Camron Parks and Kaden Kinney, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born June 14,1959 in St. Joseph, to Arthine and Paul Williams, who preceded him in death.

Paul grew up in Denver Colorado and attended George Washington High School. He served in the United States Army, and later returned to St. Joseph, where he worked in, as a chef for many years. His favorite past time was fishing, being with his family and putting a smile on every ones face.

Paul is also preceded death by his grandparents, Lawrence and Maralyn Kirby, aunt Yvonna J. Kirby, brothers Gary and Michael Williams.

He is survived by his sons Paul Williams III, Jeremy Williams, and Aiden Schnieder, brothers Larry (Sheryl) Williams, Sean (Mary) Williams, and Kyle (Lisa) Weston, sisters, Roxanne (Duane) Williams, Tanya (Terrance) McGilbray, Marquetta Weston and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Marion Francis Gallatin passed away on November 28 at the age of 71. Marion was born in Trenton, Missouri to Gerald and Louise Gallatin (Davis). He married Sue Morin in St Joseph Missouri in 1978.

Marion graduated from Central High School and Missouri Western State University in St Joseph. He worked at Heartland Hospital and then after moving to Blue Springs in 1994, St Joseph Hospital in Kansas City. He was a great father, grandfather and a loving husband. Marion loved coaching his children in sports, bluegrass music, baseball, antiques and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mother, Louise Gallatin, his wife, Sue Gallatin, his son Adam (Julie), his daughter, Brittany, his sister, Connie (Tim) Brock, two grandsons, Grayson and Logan, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald and an infant son Nicholas and nephew Cole Patrick.

She was born May 3, 1933 in St. Joseph to Robert and Emma Pawling.

She was a 1951 graduate of Lafayette High School and married Richard “Dick” Miller in 1954. He preceded her in death in 2002 after 48 years of marriage.

Marquitta was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Robert (Evelyn), Quentin (Marjory), Russell (Marie); sisters, Dorothy (Norman) Oehrle and Marjorie (Fred) Dougan.

She is survived by her niece, Linda Hill and family of Gladstone, MO. Linda has been her caregiver for over 20 years. Linda has been her caregiver for over 20 years. Marquitta (Pawling) Miller 1933 - 2022

Eula Glee (Glee B.) Pettijohn of St. Joseph died Saturday, November 26, at the age of 92 after an eight-month struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was born to Robert and Minnie (Risner) Benitz on February 7, 1930 in Hiawatha, Kansas.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Russell Pettijohn, of the home; two sons – Jeff (Robin) Pettijohn of Country Club and Brad (Greta) Pettijohn of Overland Park; and her sister – Roberta Lange of Omaha. She has seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers – Harold Benitz and Kenneth Benitz, and two sisters – Opal Herpel and Virginia Laurence.

Glee was proud to be a charter member of the Savannah Sashayers Square Dance Club where she and Russell enjoyed dancing for over forty years. She was a lifetime follower of Jesus having been baptized in the Lutheran Church as an infant and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Wathena. She was a longtime active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Joseph. Friends and family remember her as sweet and kind, hardworking and giving. Her sons remember her as a staunch supporter and cheerleader.

She retired from the St. Joseph School District after twenty years having worked in the office of the Maintenance Department and Spring Garden and Pickett Schools. Other places of employment over the years include NOMA, Gerber Baby Foods, Anchor Screw, and the State of Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Mosaic Hospice, or Shriners Hospitals for Children.

He enjoyed sports and was an outstanding basketball player and softball catcher playing in the St. Joseph Metro Fast-pitch League for several years. Norman worked in a family business the Smith Box Company, Rushville, MO for several years, then became a Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputy. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Missouri Western College and became a parole officer until his retirement. He was an active member of the Rushville Christian Church serving as a Deacon, Elder and Chairman of the Board for many years. He was a charter member of the former Rushville Lions Club. He was married to Bonnie Pearl Garrison on May 1, 1959. They have been married for 63 years. Survivors include his wife Bonnie P. Smith, of the home, a brother Lee Roy Smith, St. Joseph, a sister-in-law, Cheryl Smith, Atchison, KS, and several nieces and nephews. Walter Robert (Bob) Rudolph 85, of St Joseph formerly of Lathrop MO., passed from his earthly life on November 19 2022. Born on December 9, 1936 near Amazonia, MO. He was raised on a farm with parents, Walter and Esther Rudolph and siblings. This was the start of his agricultural career. Following graduation from Savannah High School, he received a Bachelors degree in Agriculture at Mo. Univ. He was an avid MIZZOU fan who attended the Sugar and Orange Bowls in his MIZZOU days. He then enlisted in the Army Reserves continuing to help at the family farm.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Bob met his future bride, Wanda Morgan, in St. Joseph following a blind date set up by his sister. They married in 1962 and celebrated 52 years of marriage. Bob returned to MU in 1969 and obtained his masters in Agriculture. His career started with the U. S. Department of Agriculture.&nbsp; They lived in St. Joseph, Amazonia, Columbia, Springfield, Gallatin, Brookfield and Cameron, prior to living in Plattsburg where he worked with the Univ. of Mo. Extension Office specializing in the tobacco crop program. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. Bob will be remembered for his strong Christian faith and always helping others and his devotion to his wife and son, Brian. One of the highlights he enjoyed was being a strong supporter of Brian’s school events. He displayed strength in facing life’s challenges each day with love and understanding. Bob’s joyful personality and funny anecdotes will be missed at the family dinners. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda, parents, sisters Faye Morgan and Dorothy Carrel.&nbsp;

He is survived his son Brian, brother Jerry Rudolph, sisters in law Bonnie Morgan, Joyce Conley (Jim), and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am Saturday December 3, 2022 at the First Baptist Church Plattsburg. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
