Kan. man with 4 previous DUI convictions caught with meth

OSAGE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new charges after a traffic stop.

Just after 4 p.m. Sunday a Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop  on U.S. 75 Highway, near Carbondale, for a traffic violation, according to Sheriff Chris Wells.

During the stop, the deputy found illegal narcotics.

The driver of the vehicle, James I. Morehead, 62, of Silver Lake, was taken into custody and transported to the Osage County Jail Facility on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Interference with law enforcement. He has as many a four previous DUI convictions, according to the Kansas Department of corrections.
