DOUGLAS COUNTY—Police arrested a 31-year-old male masseur on suspicion of rape, according to the Lawrence Police Department.
Police are asking anyone who visited Lawrence Thai Massage at the corner of 23rd and Haskell, 951 E. 23rd Street and experienced inappropriate behavior during a therapy session to contact Lawrence Police investigators.
Investigators sent an affidavit to the District Attorney for charging consideration, which details events alleging non-consensual sexual contact between a male employee and a 19-year-old female massage client.
Lawrence Police Investigators were dispatched to the establishment moments after the incident occurred. Crime Scene Technicians worked to collect evidence, which is now being processed.
Detectives interviewed the employee and he was ultimately booked into the Douglas County Correctional Facility and released while the investigation continues.
