KANSAS CITY —U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg will visit the Kansas City area again Monday, according to Mayor Quinton Lucas.

Buttigieg, who has visited the region several times since he joined the Biden administration, will participate in the celebration for the completion of the new Kansas City International Airport terminal. The terminal officially opens Tuesday.

He is also scheduled to visit the future site of the multibillion-dollar Panasonic electric vehicle battery plant  in De Soto, Kansas, 30 miles southwest of Kansas City.

In January of 2022, Buttigieg stopped in Kansas City to promote the President's  infrastructure legislation with a visit to the Rock Island railroad bridge and the Cesar Chavez Bridge that carries vehicles over the Kansas River.
