JACKSON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 9 a.m. Sunday in Jackson County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Nissan Juke driven by Jenna G. Marconett, 20, Pleasant Hill, was westbound on MO 7 at MO East Junction.
The driver failed to yield and struck the passenger side of a northbound 2019 GMC Savannah 3500 driven by Mark A. Fields, 63, Independence. After impact, the can struck the front of a northbound 2010 Subaru Outback driven by Stephen E. Longmeyer, 54, Pleasant Hill, and overturned.
Fields was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to the Jackson County Medical Examiner's office. Pleasant Hill EMS transported Marconett to Research Medical Center. Southern Jackson County EMS transported Longmeyer and two adult passenger in the Subaru to Centerpoint Medical Center. All five were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
