The St. Joseph Mustangs lost at Clarinda Tuesday, 5-2. The Mustangs (26-5) trailed 5-0 after the fourth and scored their only two runs of the game in the top of the ninth, but fell short in their rally attempt.
Clarinda outhit St. Joseph 13-7. The Mustangs also stranded 10 baserunners. Trevor McCollum was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Landon Reith got the start and took the loss on the mound, giving up five earned runs through four innings, striking out five and walking none.
St. Joseph is back home to face Chillicothe on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
