KANSAS CITY —Authorities are investigating a deadly fire in Kansas City. Just before 2a.m. crews responded to a house fire in the 9900 block of Hillcrest Road in Kansas City, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins
First arriving crews reported heavy fire from a single-story home. . During the search of the home crews identified a single occupant in a hallway near the back of the home near the main fire room.
The victim is a 35-year-old man who was pronounced deceased. The fire was placed under control at 2 am. The Kansas City Police Bomb and Arson squad has been asked to join the investigation due to the fatality. The victim appears to have lived alone. Authorities did not release his name early Wednesday.
