Missouri man dead, 4 children injured after car strikes a bull

BARTON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 8p.m. Saturday in Barton County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Chevy Cavalier driven by Isiah A. Pitts, 22, Golden City, was northbound on U.S. 160 four miles north of Golden City.

The car struck a bull in the road. After impact, the car traveled off the road and struck a tree.

A medical flight transported one passenger identified as Jason L. Hawkins, 44, Lamar, to Cox South Hospital where he died.  Barton County EMS transported four children ages 11, 9, 6 and 2, to the hospital in Lamar. Pitts was not injured. All six were not wearing seat belts or in child safety seats, according to the MSHP.
