BATES COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 3a.m. Tuesday in Bates County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2019 Chevy Malibu driven by Brian N. Moss, 30, Nevada, was northbound on Interstate 49 just west of Route F.
The car struck a pedestrian in the road identified as Jerry D. Urick, 57, Kansas City, Missouri. Urick was pronounced dead at the scene. Moss was not injured and properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
