Police: Kan. man lost $2,500 in online bike purchase scam

RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating an online scam in Riley County.

Just before 1p.m. Thursday, officers filed a report of fraud in the 1500 block of College Avenue in Manhattan, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report. A 30-year-old man reported he purchased a bike online that turned up to be a fraudulent seller. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $2,500.
