MONTGOMERY COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 11a.m. Friday in Montgomery County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Chevy 1500 driven by a 76-year-old Elsberry man was westbound on Route E at Route DD. The pickup pulled into the path of an eastbound 1998 Western Star Semi driven by a 77-year-old Silex man.
The semi struck the pickup on the driver's side. The pickup driver was pronounced ead at the scene and was transported to Schlanker Funeral Home. EMS transported the semi driver to Mercy. Hospital in Troy. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
