CALDWELL COUNTY—A man was seriously injured in a rollover crash that closed down Missouri 13 in Caldwell County for part of the morning.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 7:45 a.m., Stanley B. Phelps, 62, of Fordland was driving a Ford F550 north on Missouri 13, two miles north of Polo, when he fell asleep at the wheel.
The truck traveled off the west side of the road, Phelps overcorrected and the truck traveled off the east side of the road. When the driver overcorrected again, the truck returned to the road and rolled several times. The truck came to a stop on its top in the northbound lane.
Caldwell County EMS transported Phelps to Polo where Lifeflight transported him to Truman Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
