PETTIS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just after 10a.m. Saturday in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Silverado driven by a 17-year-old Sedalia boy was eastbound on Smasal Road just east of Welliver Road. The pickup traveled off the road and struck a creek embankment.
The teen driver was pronounced dead at the scene and was released to Heckart Funeral Home. An 18-year-old male passenger was transported to Bothwell Regional Hospital. They were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
