KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement investigating another homicide in Kansas City have identified the victim as 38-year-old Terry Jones, according to KCPD Officer Phil DiMartino.
Just after 3:30a.m. April 14, East Patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting in the area of Independence Avenue and Lawndale Avenue, according to KCPD officer Officer Alayna Gonzalez.
First responders located Jones on a sidewalk suffering from apparent gunshot trauma and unresponsive. EMS responded to the scene and declared him deceased.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle may have been driving through the area and began firing shots, ultimately striking Jones. Police have not identified a suspect vehicle or a person of interest in the killing.
