Police jail registered Kan. offender for alleged attempted murder

RILEY COUNTY– Law enforcement authorities investigating two previously unreported knife attacks have arrested 45-year-old  Jarman Morgan of Manhattan, according to a media release from the Riley County Police Department.

The stabbings occurring in the summer months of 2020 and spring months of 2021 in Manhattan.

Morgan is reported to have stabbed the same 35-year-old man in the head and face area on these occasions. The victim did not receive medical care for either of the stabbings and is still alive, according to the RCPD.

Officers arrested Morgan Wednesday on a Riley County District Court warrant for two counts each of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated battery.

He has previous convictions for aggravated battery, aggravated burglary, theft, burglary, disorderly conduct, DUI, violations of the offender registration act and for drugs, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections. He has been listed as a registered Kansas drug offender since March of 2018.
