CASS COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 7p.m. Saturday in Cass County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Yamaha XV1600 Road Star driven by a 69-year-old Benton man was westbound on Route YY just west of Knight Road. The motorcycle traveled off the right side of the road, overturned and the driver and occupant were ejected.
South Metro Fire Protection District transported the driver and passenger, identified as a 59-year-old Belton woman, to Research Medical Center. She was pronounced deceased at 8:16p.m. They were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
