2 Missouri adults, teen dead after wrong-way crash

MCDONALD COUNTY—Three people died in an accident just after 9:30p.m. Tuesday in McDonald County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2014 Nissan Versa driven by Kyler M. Johnson, 29, Washburn, Mo., was southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 71 near Brush Creek Road in Pineville.

The car struck a northbound 2011 Toyota Prius driven by 17-year-old girl from Neosho.

Johnson and two passengers in the Nissan identified as 58-year-old Joseph P. Lynch of Powell and a 15-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Ozark Funeral Home in Ozark. The 17-year-old Toyota driver was airlifted to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Lynch and Johnson were not wearing seat belts, according to MSHP.
