Missouri man dead, 3 injured after boat strikes rock bluff

MORGAN COUNTY— A Missouri man died in an accident just after 9p.m. Saturday at Lake of the Ozarks. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Four Winns Sport boat driven by Roy T. Jackson, 63, Edwards, was westbound at the 69 mile mark of the main channel.

The operator failed to keep a proper look out, according to the MSHP. The vessel struck a rock bluff.

A passenger identified as 58-year-old Thomas M. McKown of Byrnes Mill was pronounced dead just before 2a.m. Sunday by the Morgan County Corner. 

EMS transported passengers James E. McKown, 64, Excelsior Springs and James A. McKown, 36, Smithville, to Lake Regional Hospital. A private vehicle transported Jackson to Lake Regional Hospital. The operator and passengers were not wearing life jackets, according to the MSHP.
