KANSAS CITY —A woman critically injured in a shooting October 7, has died.
Just after 1:30a.m. Wednesday, police responded to report of a shooting in the 3500 Block of Walnut in Kansas City, Missouri, according to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez. First responders found the victim, later identified as 37-year-old Orian Heckman who had gunshot wounds. She was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Officers took a suspect into custody at the scene. On Saturday, police reported Heckman had died. Police did not release details on her relationship with the suspect.
