Mo. teen driver involved in head-on crash with dump truck

CASS COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just before 7:30a.m. Wednesday in Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Chevy Avalanche driven by a 16-year-old Raymore boy was southbound on School Road toward Raymore-Peculiar High School.  

The Chevy crossed the center of the road and struck  a Mack GU713 dump truck head-on. After impact, the Chevrolet skidded off the left side of the road and struck a fence. The Mack Truck came to a rest blocking the northbound lane of School Road.

South Metro Fire and EMS transported the 60-year-old Shawnee, Kansas truck driver to Belton Regional Hospital. The teen was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the MSHP. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
