LAFAYETTE COUNTY—Two people died in an accident just before 6:30p.m. Monday in Lafayette County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Buick Lucerne driven by Gerand L. Ratcliffe, 61, Hale, was. northbound on MO 23 just south of Jingles Road.
The car crossed the center of the road and struck a 2014 Chevy Captiva driven by a 17-year-old Carrolton boy head-on.
Ratcliffe was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported the teen to Carrolton County Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The drivers were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
