BARRY COUNTY—A Missouri man died in an accident just before 3:30p.m. Thursday in Barry County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Ford Taurus driven by Walter B. Hooper III, 28, Cassville, was westbound on MO 76 five miles southeast of Cassville.
The car crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound 2000 Freightliner semi driven by Christopher W. Diehl, 50, Eureka Springs, Arkansas.
Hooper was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Fohn's Funeral Home. Diehl was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
