The Missouri State Highway Patrol worked 312 total traffic crashes over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, including 124 injuries and seven fatalities statewide.
Troopers also made 144 DWI arrests and 81 drug arrests over the long weekend.
There 12 boating crashes, including four injuries and one fatality. Troopers made eight BWI arrests and 43 drug arrests. There were no drownings.
There were no fatalities reported in northwest Missouri, according to the State Highway Patrol's Troop H.
Troop H officers, however, investigated 19 traffic crashes, resulting in 11 injuries and zero fatalities in the northwest part of the state over the weekend.
Troopers in northwest Missouri issued 178 citations, 289 warnings and assisted 25 motorists over the Fourth weekend. They also made five DWI arrests and 11 drug arrests.
The statewide numbers are down compared to last Fourth of July. In 2020, 15 people were killed and 671 were injured in Missouri over the Independence Day holiday.
