79th anniversary: Moran visits memorial at Omaha Beach

WASHINGTON ā€“ On the 79th Anniversary of D-Day, Senator Jerry Moran visited the 1st Infantry Division Memorial and the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France. Sen. Moran was joined by U.S. Army Mayor General John Meyer, the 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley commanding general.

Moran said, "It was an honor to represent the U.S. Senate and join Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, General Mark Milley and WWII veterans at the ceremony commemorating the 79th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy, France."
