JACKSON COUNTY, Mo.—One person died in an accident just after 11p.m. Tuesday in Jackson County.
Independence Poice reported a 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle was southbound on Noland Road when it collided with a 2023 van that was exiting eastbound Interstate 70 and turning northbound onto Noland Road. EMS transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the van remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The Independence Police Department Crash Investigations Unit responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation. The circumstances surrounding the crash, including any contributing factors, remain under investigation. Police have not released the name of the motorcyclist.
