Search for Missouri double homicide suspect is over

KANSAS  CITY —The search for a Missouri double-murder suspect ended Wednesday in Illinois.  The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported 48-year-old Ryan A. Munson was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound inside a RV in Decatur, Illinois.

Law enforcement found Munson just before 4p.m. on a property in the 700 Block of N. 33rd Street.

Munson was wanted on two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing  Donald W. Horine, 49, and Bobbie M. Munson, 46, in rural Carroll County, Missouri.

KANSAS CITY —The Missouri State Highway Patrol is actively investigating a double homicide reported in Carroll County late in the morning of Sunday, Aug. 23.

The Patrol's  Rural Major Case Squad was called in by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office to investigate an incident at a residence near the intersection of Route MM and County Road 250, about six miles northeast of Carrollton.

The Patrol identified a person of interest as 48-year-old Ryan A Munson, who was last seen driving a black 2017 Ram quad cab with Missouri license plates 3YH-G01. The truck was last seen near Hannibal on U.S. Route 61, and may have crossed into a neighboring state. Anyone who has spotted Munson is asked to call local law enforcement immediately.
