RUSSELL COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities have identified a Salina man as the victim of a weekend drowning at Wilson Lake, according to a media release from the Russell County Sheriff.
Just after 4p.m. Oct. 8, a woman called Russell County 911 Dispatch to report that a man identified as 58-year-old Michael Wayne Larson had fallen off a boat on the west end of Wilson Lake.
Authorities learned that Larson and a woman had been boating toward the west end of Wilson Lake when he fell out of the boat and possibly struck his head on the boat as he fell, according to the sheriff's office.
On Thursday morning search crews recovered Larson's body.
The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks game wardens are assisting with the investigation.
