17-year-old Mo. boy dies after semi crash and fire

GASCONADE COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 1:30p.m. Wednesday in Gasconade County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Ford passenger vehicle driven by a 17-year-old Berger, Mo. boy was northbound on MO 19 just south of Aufderheide Road.

The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and the driver overcorrected. This caused the vehicle to travel into the path of a southbound semi driven by a 62-year-old Sunrise Beach man. After impact both vehicle traveled off the road and caught fire.  The teen driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Owensville ambulance transported the semi driver to Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City. The MSHP had incomplete seat belt usage information. The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
