BOONE COUNTY —The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Harrisburg Missouri.
The man fatally shot during the incident on September 7, has been identified as 31-year-old Ty B. Lewis of Columbia, according to the MSHP.
The Patrol released no additional details.
Just before 9 p.m. Sunday, Boone County deputies were dispatched to a domestic disturbance involving weapons in the 200 block of Railroad Street in Harrisburg, Missouri, according to a media release.
A caller had notified Boone County Joint Communications that they had received information from a subject at that location who advised a man was screaming and waving a firearm. Shortly after 9:00 pm, deputies arrived on scene and contacted a 31-year-old man, later identified as Lewis who was armed with a firearm.
During the encounter, Lewis failed to obey commands and moved toward deputies, which resulted in him being shot and killed by Sheriff’s Office personnel.
