NEWTON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 6p.m. Wednesday in Newton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2018 Nissan Kicks driven by Airine Gallen, 50, Neosho, was southbound on MO 175 five miles north of Neosho.
The SUV crossed the center of the road and struck a northbound 2000 Lincoln Town car driven by Joshua Niswonger, 22, Neosho, head-on.
Gallen was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported Niswonder and a passenger in the Lincoln Lakin House, 23, Neosho, to Freeman West in Joplin. All three were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
