Police ID man who died in gun fight with Kansas City police

KANSAS CITY, Missouri — Law enforcement investigating an officer-involved shooting in Kansas City, Missouri have released the name of the man who died as 35-year-old Alejandro Landen-Ramirez of Kansas City, Missouri.

just before 8p.m. Sunday, Kansas City Police were called to a domestic disturbance involving a weapon in the 5700 Block of St. John Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, according to a media release from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Officers were given information from the 911 call indicating that an armed subject, later identified as Landen-Ramirez, was in a vehicle in front of the home. 

Two office arrived on scene and contacted Landen-Ramirez in the vehicle. Landen-Ramirez ran from the vehicle to the front porch of the home where he presented a handgun and fired at officers. Officers returned fire striking the him. Officers attempted life saving measured but Landen-Ramirez was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers also recovered a handgun at the scene

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is in charge of the officer shooting investigation and KCPD is investigating the original domestic disturbance.
